Trying to decide if a character dinner is right for us and which one. We are a newly married couple (will be 28 and 36 at the time of travel) with no kids.

Any recommendations or should we skip it all together.

1900 parkfare I would imagine would be less wild. It's a beautiful setting and the food is really good.

This would get my vote - its a quieter setting, but if food is important, do check the menus from allearsnet.com -

We are off to 1900 Park Fare in just a few minutes for my DD9 birthday brunch with friends. We have never been to 1900 Park Fare, and I am so excited!!! I've ordered a cake - since it's 11am ADR, more of a "brunch" and made very cute "goodie bags" for the two girls!! I can't wait, I am so hoping this is a wonderful magical memory for us and the other family who have never done a character meal!!!

We did Chef Mickey three years ago, and have ADRs for April when my DgreatN6 makes his first visit to WDW. CM just seems like the place to start his "magical journey"!

I've been to both CM & 1900 Park Fare for dinner with DD11 & DS8.
Both are great.

If just DH & I were going though....we'd probably choose 1900 Park Fare...less crazy, seems more private.

I'd skip both and give somewhere else a try. If you really want a great character buffet, then definintely try the Crystal Palace. The food and service here are great. If you definitely want to do one or the other, then I would recommend the 1900 over CM's any day. Tried both for dinner and thought the 1900 was ok, but CM's was just awful. Food was gross and the service extremely slow. The food & service at the 1900 was better, but I would still recommend the CP over both of these.

Other places I'd recommend would be:

Rose & Crown @ EPCOT
Le Cellier @ EPCOT
50's Primetime Cafe @ MGM
Tusker House @ Animal Kingdom
Whispering Canyon Cafe @ the Wilderness Lodge

We've done both - on our honeymoon we did Park Fare...and loved it. I agree that this cb is a bit more toned down than Chef Mickey's.

Park Faire - much better food. Though Crystal Palace cant be beat - its a beautiful restaurant. With adults I would honestly forego the buffet and eat at Citricos. the GF is a wonderful resort for Adults and romantic meals.
