18 year old curfew??

Just wanted to add after reading all the posts about slobby husbands, ones that don't help clean the house, another reason for a curfew at our house, we ALL clean. We ALL clean together. My time is no less important than my kids or the Dh's. We usually clean on Sunday morning. My boys if they are still living at home, are not staying out till 3 or 4 in the morning and sleeping all day while the rest of us are cleaning and doing yard work. We usually set aside an hour or so every Sunday morning to do chores.

What my parents did for me the summer before college was just ask me what time I thought I'd be home. If I would be later than the time mentioned, I was to call them. I thought that was reasonable. I felt more like an adult then and was happy that my parents thought I could handle it. We never had any problems. Your DD sounds like a good "kid" and that she can handle it. Good luck!

My parents did this for me and my siblings as well. When I was 18 I had to be home by 12:30am on weekends and I was honestly fine with that. What did I need to be out that late for?When I turned 21 and still lived at home,we agreed 2am was the guideline time-if I would be later I would let them know. My parents couldnt sleep until all their children were home and safe. I can respect and understand that. As a result, I almost never came home later than 1am. Just wasnt a need.
