Really nice shots there! Don't you just love that lens?
Nice work Ann. I like the apple picking shots and you did a great job capturing the sights on your walk. Nice detail and very good composition.
Glad to see that your loving your equipment thus far.
Keep up the great work.
I just reserved the Canon 18-200 mm IS for my upcoming Disney Trip (Oct 31-Nov 5). I am really looking forward to trying it out and will post back after our trip. I have a Rebel XT. I rented it from LensRentals.com.
"Super Shots"....Ann !!!![]()

If you're ever in Hunterdon we could take our 18-200 babies for a walk around Washington's Crossing. Lovely this time of year![]()
That would be great! I'm right around Washington's Crossing all the time, I work in Princeton. I was actually considering going up to Bowman's Tower to take some pictures once the leaves start to change a little more. If I'm ever thinking about heading up there on a weekend with nice weather, I'll give ya a heads up!![]()
Congradulations on the new camera! Thats a great setup you've got yourself started with. Another book to consider is "Understanding Exposure" or "Understanding Shutter Speed" by Bryan Peterson. Either can easily be found at amazon for about $17
I really like the way he uses examples of what he's talking about. I've gotten a lot out of the "Understanding Exposure" book and referenced it a lot when I first got it. Its a nice book to have to keep going back to as you learn.
Now get out there and take some pictures!!!![]()
Well, one strike I can see against it is it's not USM focusing. Also, I'll bet the barrel rotates during focusing, which makes using a polarizing filter difficult.
Other than that, it would make a great walkaround lens.
I found this description of it from b&h:
The lens design incorporates an inner focusing system, which prevents the front of the lens from rotating, thereby making it particularly suitable for use with circular polarizing filters and petal shaped lens hoods.
So wouldn't the filter work ok?
