17 Days of Wishes Come to Life- A Sept. 08 WDW and DCL Adventure 3/27 new link posted

I love the pics from the turtle farm! Oh i miss it so much! You are making me long for life on the ship again, when i'm supposed to be happy on land! ;)

Can't wait for Pirate Night!!!

DCL Day 4...PIRATE NIGHT!

Let me start off with sharing a few pictures of our pirate crew that were taken on our way down to the Pirates in the Caribbean Dinner.

After posing, it was time to get down to the very important task of enjoying this night's dinner. We were eating in Animator's Palette. The entire ship (no matter which main dining room you happened to be in that night) was sharing the same pirate menu.

The meal started off with my favorite bread of the week, Cuban rolls. They were served with a VERY tasty cumin and cilantro dip. I think our table ate about five baskets of bread this evening! Some of that bread did (yet again) end up under the table courtesy of our youngest buccaneer, however, it was less than usually did, even he was more into eating the bread than pitching it this evening. It was THAT good!

I picked Black Beard's Jumbo Crab Cakes with fruit salsa and honey lime tropical cole slaw. OH YUM YUM! I chose to have seconds of my appetizer instead of choosing a soup or salad. :thumbsup2 I am a HUGE crab cake fan and these were outstanding.

My main course was outstanding as well. I had The Black Pearl's Oven Roasted Beef Tenderloin with sour cream chive smashed potatoes, sugared baked carrots with a deep red wine glaze. Another meal featured grilled shrimp and Sameer, being the amazing server he is, made sure that a sampling showed up on my plate (along with the tenderloin) when he heard me debating ordering it!
:thumbsup2

Here are some table side pirate pictures that were taken during our meal.

And our crazy shot (every pirate crew needs to let loose).
Fallwinter08664.jpg

Proof positive that our Little Prince loved the bread (the crumbs are all over him). ;)

The cute detail on our printed photo boarder.

Some shots of the happy diners.

I love the lace edge of his sleeves.

Snow White and Cinderella.
Disn2008089.jpg

And them once again, this time, trying to see who could make our LP smile more widely.
Disn2008092.jpg

The result? One very happy Little Pirate Prince.
Disn2008097.jpg

The red bandannas you see were left for each person at their place setting.

Lucky for our already busting stomachs, there was a bit of a break for a festive bit of pirate entertainment before the dessert course came out (or was even ordered in the case of our table...we talk a lot). The music started pumping and the server's started dancing and parading through the dining room in their pirate finery. Most of the dining room came to our feet as well. Dh and Mr. Friend took it to heart and hopped right up.
Disn2008087.jpg

Mr. Friend being himself. haha
Disn2008086.jpg

The boys ate it up!
Disn2008085.jpg

There was a lot of waving of bandannas and napkins.
Disn2008083.jpg

And dh being himself. haha
Disn2008082.jpg

Then it was time for dessert...OH THE DESSERTS!

I chose to have the Lost Banana Treasure. Flame kissed bananas with caramel rum sauce and vanilla ice cream. THIS WAS HEAVEN ON EARTH!
Disn2008098.jpg

Everyone loved their desserts tonight. Snow White couldn't stop raving about her white chocolate cheesecake on a bed of crushed macadamia crust. It was garnished with a white chocolate shaving and strawberry, vanilla and caramel sauces.
Disn2008099.jpg

Dh loved the triple layered chocolate cake that was nestled in a very rich dark chocolate sauce and topped with 'planks' of chocolate.
Disn2008100.jpg

Our servers brought out a special dessert plate for all of us to share. It was a meringue container filled with tropical fruit and berries and surrounded by vanilla sauce.
Disn2008101.jpg

We sat long after we had finished our last bites of dessert and enjoyed some coffee and tea. It was a great meal. (Notice Stitch pretending he was a ninja pirate...HA HA HA).

I'm catching up on a couple of updates. Grand Cayman looks amazing! The picture of the boys with the parrots is precious, and I love the sea turtles!!!

Pirate Night sounds like so much fun! And those desserts? Yeah, they look worth taking the cruise just in themselves. Excuse me while I go get a snack that will in no way cure my craving. :rotfl: Great updates as usual! :thumbsup2

Your Little Prince looks so cute in his costume! I love pirates night! I'm getting hungry already looking at those desserts!:hyper:

Sounds like such a fun night! Love your pictures with everyone dressed up. :cool1: that you added a Tiara to your pirate outfit. Loved the Grand cayman update too.

Oh you all look so great!! What cute outfits!

Looks like a fantastic time and you all look so cute in your costumes, didn't LP do well keeping his hat on :goodvibes

You guys looked fantastic, especially the LP - just too stinkin' cute!!

Pirate night looks like so much fun, and those desserts, well I have to pull out my drooling smilie for those!

DCL Day 4...The Pirate PARTY!

Upon returning to our room, we found a new friend waiting for us.
Disn2008103.jpg

And he didn't come empty handed...he came bearing pirate treasure (or at least gold foil wrapped chocolate coins).
Disn2008104.jpg

Aladdin had ducked out of dinner before dessert (AGAIN!) and he wasn't with us at this point. Instead, dh was going to drag him back to us as he dropped our Little Prince off at Flounder's for the night. While he was doing that, I got our glow sticks, necklaces and bracelets out and ready for use.

We spent very little time in our room before calling down to our friend's room and heading out to the Pirates IN the Caribbean Party!

By the time we got up there, the main level was packed with people.
GOODWDWcamera276.jpg

That being true, we headed up a level to the next deck and found a much less crowded vantage point. We even had a few seats that we were able to pull up to the railings just in front of the stage (one deck below).
Here are some of the pictures I got of the show. This first one is not very good but it shows the pirate crew dancing.
GOODWDWcamera274.jpg

Every so often, a talking skull would warn you that the pirates were about to make an appearance. ;)
GOODWDWcamera275.jpg

GOODWDWcamera277.jpg

GOODWDWcamera278.jpg

And then the captain of the pirates puts in an appearence...none other than good ol' Capt. Hook!
GOODWDWcamera279.jpg

GOODWDWcamera280.jpg

Just when it seems that all is lost and the pirates are going to overtake us completely...Mickey Mouse zips down a zip line and saves the day!
GOODWDWcamera281.jpg

GOODWDWcamera282.jpg

GOODWDWcamera285.jpg

Once Mickey has things under control, a celebration starts...FIREWORKS AT SEA! How cool is that! Again, not the best pictures, but they give you the 'feeling' (or at least they do me ;) ).
GOODWDWcamera283.jpg

GOODWDWcamera284.jpg

Immediately following the pirate deck party and the fireworks, there is a pirate buffet full of fine piratey foods out on the open deck. Although none of us had any room whatsoever for any sort of pirate treats, I did fight the crowds to snap a few pictures of the displays before we headed out of the area. On this night, our boys (surprise, surprise) wanted to spend the rest of the evening in their clubs.

GOODWDWcamera290.jpg

With the kids all busy, dh and I joined Mr. and Mrs. Friend in Sessions for a few drinks and some piano tunes. It was relaxing and fun.

The night once again ended with us dragging our kids from closing kid's clubs and Aladdin staying out an hour after the rest of us had made it back to the room.

On this night, I drifted off to sleep dreaming of the fun that awaited us the next day...in Cozumel!

To be continued...

I love your pirate crew. LP looked too cute in his pirate hat for the pictures. I'm glad it wasn't a replay of the Mickey ears.:) I like your pirate outfit as well. You looked nice in that shade of blue.
The food descriptions are making me so hungry! It all sounded delicious!
Once again two great updates!

Another awesome day, Jay! (hey that rhymes!:rotfl2: ) We've never been snorkeling, and after seeing all your pictures I can't wait for my family to try it. Pirate night seems so cool. I love how Disney really tries to get all families involved with the entertainment. Oh and LP in his pirate costume....too cute for words!

Is everyone feeling better in your household? Were you finally able to break out the cake for LP and celebrate his birthday?

Can't wait to hear about Cozumel!

Pirate Night looks like so much fun! Your dinner soundes absolutely delicious, crab cakes are also my favorite. And everyone's costumes came out great!

Looks like a great time and the pictures are wonderful! You all had great costumes! :thumbsup2

I absolutely LOVE your family PIRATE pictures!!! Those are so adorable. Everyone totally looks the part, such great costumes all around!!! Again, I have to say Jay that you are truly making me dream of the day I get to "hopefully" go on a Disney Cruise!!!!

Your meal sounds so delicious, I love crab cakes too so I would have asked for seconds there too. Hahaha.

Those food carvings are incredible!!! I wish I could do one like that for our block parties. Hahahaha. JK.

It's so nice the boys all love their clubs so much. I wonder if my little one would!

Anyway...love the update and can't wait for more!!!

I have to say that I am amazed at ALL of the food on the cruise! It seems that there is food everywhere!! No problem being hungry on the ship! ;) The watermelon carvings are so detailed... ( I think they are watermelons!)
It seems like the cruise is even more fun for everyone with your friends onboard too. Makes it extra special with so many more memories.
Fireworks at sea! Wow! That must be quite a sight!

pirate: Jay, those costumes are incredible! I may have missed this, but did you make them? LP's costume is especially precious; I don't think that I've ever seen a baby wear such fancy clothing and not be screaming and trying to wriggle out of it!

I'm with you on the midnight buffets; go and take pictures, but there's no way I can eat anything that late at night.:crazy2: I've never been on a DCL cruise, but on my Royal Caribbean cruise in March, there was a midnight dessert buffet. From your pictures, it was nothing next to Disney's!

Loved your recap of the Pirate Party. I missed ours and can't wait to the next cruise to enjoy it!

Great costumes! I can't believe the Nugget kept his hat on!! And he has long fingers, doesn't he? Maybe a pro ball player!! :cool1:

The picture of the family being all "piratey" was fab!

The whole party looked like so much fun. Lovin' this.

Keep it coming!

****fingers still crossed****
