17 Days of Wishes Come to Life- A Sept. 08 WDW and DCL Adventure 3/27 new link posted

JAY...OMG I am speechless!!! I didn't even know all this could be arranged thru a planner at WDW! I should hire you for some ideas for my daughters sweet 16 celebration at WDW :rolleyes1 . When you get a chance....:rotfl: can you pls give us some ideas! Can't wait to hear more :dance3: Also, what is the cost for the Grand 1 and a character appearance...something we may include. Thanks for the ideas!

Hyper ventilating, screaming, jumping, whooping...yep, pretty much all of that happened. However, it happened so fast, I have no idea who was doing what...in all honesty, it may all have been done by me

What a wonderful writer you are - funny, suspenseful, and making the reader feel we are a part of the adventure.

I usually don't stray from the recipe/restaurant sections of this board but I'm SO glad I found your trip review. Your family is gorgeous and I's also love to be adopted by you  :worship:

The dessert tray is one of the most amazing things I've ever seen. The imagination of the chefs is truly awe inspiring.

WOW just WOW those skulls came out fantatic. The cruise/dessert party is such a great idea. This really was the perfect dream day. I am so happy it worked out so perfectly for you. WOW again. I cant believe there is more.

First my guess on the two pictures out on the lake, I say they are of Discovery Island. :thumbsup2 That they are. :thumbsup2

Those desserts are so cool! I wouldn't have wanted to eat them they looked so nice!
I thought that before the first bite...but after that, the yum factor took over and I couldn't stop from devouring all of those amazing looking desserts. ;)

Your Grand 1 adventures looked perfect The interior of the yacht is beautiful, the water looks so calm, and everybody is having a great time! :goodvibes Very cute about Cinderella and Stitch! I'm so impressed with the dessert tray. I sat here studying each picture, I never knew how detailed desserts could be! ;) Pillars, pyramids, skulls (and what a great idea you had!), I'm just amazed! Did I mention how much I love chocolate? :rolleyes1 :lmao:

I'm guessing that one area is (was) River Country?

Can't wait for what comes next!
I was in total amazed silence when I first saw that tray. I finally got over it and nibbled a small bite. Once that was done, watch out awesome looking desserts! :rotfl: They tastedt too good NOT to eat. ;) That area was Discovery Island.

I am in complete awe of everything! I think I can sum it up in one word......AWESOME!
I was in awe (still am when I think back) at the wonders that can spring forth from someone's imagination!

OMG Jay, the entire day is one big wonderful surprise.
I feel like I am part of it all.

Can you adopt me please:worship:

Ok, I know the pictures are Discovery Island, but someone beat me to guessing it.

That dessert buffet is to die for. I hope it all tasted as good as it looked. Just that Grand I cruise and dessert buffet alone are a dream surprise, I'd love to do that for my family one day. Thanks so much for sharing it with us.:lovestruc
That's actually the part that we are planning on repeating again sooner rather then later. The time we spent aboard the yacht was incredible!

:faint: WOW what a day! The Grand One is beautiful and your desserts look so yummy! I want a skull!!
Those skulls were tasty!

"the Grand Floridian outdid themselves" - YOU OUTDID YOURSELF! WHAT an AMAZING DAY!
Leave it to you to make me blush, but really, although I helped in planning it, they went above and beyond my every idea!

WOW! The pastry chefs were so incredibly creative coming up with that dessert tray - and it all looks sooooooo yummy!

Your dream day has been just amazing!
The detail was so perfect, you had to take double and triple takes in order to believe your eyes!

So glad Stitch was feeling better & could enjoy the rest of the day. :goodvibes

What a great dessert tray! The detail is amazing. LOVE the skulls.

Who wouldn't love to eat pudding from a chocolate skull? :confused3

"A Final Surprise"????? You mean there's more? I don't know if we can stand it! :cutie:
The next surprise is my personal favorite. :cloud9:

Now it's only TWO DAYS! I wish it was TO-DAY!

The time on the yacht, and the FOOD look so wonderful! I'm happy to hear your dream day went so beautifully. :cloud9:

The pastry chefs really went to down with their imagination. I love the skulls too, they sound delish!

I'm also very happy to hear Stitch started to feel better and could enjoy the rest of the day with his family and wonderful friends. :goodvibes
I hope you are happily enjoying the magic of WDW right about now! I am looking forward to reading about your adventures upon your return!

Jay, the entire day was: TOTALLY AWESOME! :worship: :worship: :worship:
Ahhh...it was!

More surprises?
Seriously...
MORE.

My goodness, Jay, you certainly have outdone yourself (and the pastry chef's as well ;) ). Honestly, everything looks so magical and beautiful. I'm very jealous. Very. Fantastic day so far! Can't wait for more.
MORE!
Like I said, I didn't so much do anything as pay for others to do it. :rotfl: I do however, take full credit for the fact that we dined out of skulls!

I can't believe it took me until today to find this...and I can't believe I just read the whole thing!!
Awesome so far, can't wait for more!!
WOW, all of it in one day? I am very impressed! ;) Glad to see you have caught up! How's your daughter doing? She must be getting so big!

WOW! What an awesome day. I am glad to see Stitch got to feeling better. I can't believe there is another surprise to come. PP's are right. I don't know how you could ever top this day. :)
Hee hee hee, I am already planning our vow renewal. However, I am now conflicted...land or sea, sea or land? Now I am trying to think of a way to do the actual vow renewal while on a Disney cruise and then follow it up with a recption to remember once we get back to FL. Of course, WDW will be my top choice. I am starting to look into what gives me the most options and is the best bang for the buck and also, what is all possible. I am having so much fun starting to dream about another day! :cloud9:

YOU ROCKED THAT PARTY JAY!!!!
YOU TRULY OUTDID YOURSELF.
I AM IN TOTAL AWE!

Seriously, the whole day so far has been so exciting and adventurous....exactly what you were going for. The Grand 1 is amazing and oh my goodness, those desserts are absolutely stunning. They look so delicious and yummy. I have to ask though, did the adults get any of the skulls?? I would have wanted one of those...LOL....hahaha. I only saw 6 on the tray. I guess I am just a big ole' kid at heart!!!

I was happy to read that Stitch started to feel better. I think Cinderella knows a good catch when she sees one and just think...with their love of WDW who knows, you may just have a future Disney wedding in the making. LOL. They are so cute together!!!

Another surprise.....?? I am so excited!!!!
Only five of the kids wanted a skull, so I snapped up the 6th one. WITH PLEASURE! I would have been bummed to not get a skull. The cookies and cream pudding was beyond belief good!

I would love to help any of my boys and their future wives-to-be plan a WDW wedding! What a fun thing that would be. If they didn't want or need help planning, I would love to show up and just enjoy it all (and that would give me an excuse to plan an afternoon or evening full of surprises and give it to them as a wedding gift. ;)).

How incredibly sweet are Stitch and Cinderella, maybe a WDW wedding is in the future :rotfl:

OMG that dessert plate is fantastic, what imagination and skill to produce that, it looked delicious too :goodvibes
I cannot say enough times how talented the GF's pastry team is! WHAT a GREAT job they did!

I do not know why it took me so long to find you latest report but I have read all of it today and am loving it! I remember from you previous reports what a wonderful, sweet family you have and your little prince is an amazing new addition. I have had fun following your adventures so far (I can't WAIT to try The Wave on my next visit) and I can't get over how cool your Indiana Jones adventure is! The desserts, the yacht, Idaho Jones...magical! :thumbsup2 And there's another suprise to come? Wow I had no idea WDW offered adventures like this. Truly spectacular, I can't wait for more!
For the right price, I think Disney can/will offer just about anything. There was so much more that they could have/would have added. It was only my preferences and more than that, budget that prevented even more magic from happening! Disney is truly the company that can make dreams come to life!

:cool1: :cool1: AWESOME!! AWESOME!! AWESOME!! :cool1: :cool1:
I am so amazed by the dessert tray! The skulls are perfect! I think my jaw was dropped about to the floor as I studied that tray... a perfect 10!!! I think you must have been floating away by how wonderful it all was! :cloud9:
I love the idea of Stitch and Cinderella! Very cute! ;)
Can't wait for the next surprise! You are spoiling us with this amazing trip!! :yay:
I am glad others are able to appreciate this afternoon! A dear friend asked me why I was so excited about the day, she said characters were all over at WDW. :confused3 I guess if WDW is not your cup of tea, then my day of dreams come true might not seem quite as special as it was to me.

I will PM you the costs (I don't want to post any portion of any cost on the thread just in case I ever talk my friends into DISing, for them the cost was free. And it will remain a zero price tag for them. I don't want them to ever think about what it cost, I would rather they just remember the fun.). And ideas...SERIOUSLY, I love to dream up ideas. You should read BRIAR_ROSE (I think that''s the user name, I will double check it) trip report. She threw an awesome sweet 16 party at WDW for her daughter. It included a dessert party at EPCOT and a birthday party at the Summerhouse location at the GF.

What a wonderful writer you are - funny, suspenseful, and making the reader feel we are a part of the adventure.

Welcome Tatania! It's good to meet you! I love food pictures and descriptions...so I have lots of them yet to come from our trip, maybe that will make you feel a bit more at home. ;) The more the merrier, welcome to the family. ;)

I will be posting the next installment today sometime. Thanks for sticking with me! :goodvibes

just signing one, after starting to read this report, I realized I had read one of your other previous ones, for some reason I remembered your "names" for your children, after I started reading. YOu did such a great job at planning this wonderful trip. I cannot wait to read the rest. Of course now I have to try to plan something fun for our upcoming trip in March, nothing as exciting as what you did, but you have inspired me!

:flower3: Jay...thanx for the heads up on the reading for the trip report, however, we searched it in the trip report threads, and we were unsuccessful.:sad1: Can you possibly help us out here, please? Thanks and I am looking forward to your read :surfweb: Thanks.

http://disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1395059 Here is the link. The trip report part after they get back starts on page 13. The before planning parts are pretty intersting too. ;)

I typed the wrong name in. It's Brier_Rose. With an 'e' not. Sorry...but hope it inspires you!

I would love to talk ideas sometime! PM me if you are interested in my crazy planning schemes. ;) ha ha ha

Day 5...The Last of the Surprises!

As we sailed along on the yacht, I had one last surprise in store. Before we had left the WL, I had told my boys that we would try and see if MK had any extra MNSSHP tickets available. On the way to the GF, I had pretended to call MK (:rotfl: ) and be told that all tickets were sold out. The mom of our friend's family had done the same thing (she thought the surprise today was going to be us surprising the kids with MNSSHP!). Devious, isn't it?! In truth, both of us had purchased of family's tickets to MNSSHP months prior to the trip. ;)

All of the kids were surprised and there were loud whoops of delight when we announced our evening plans included heading over to the Magic Kingdom for Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. There were also amazed declarations of outrage that their parents had tricked them so completely. :lmao: Score one for all of the parents!! The kids thanked us, laughed and giggled the entire time they were busy changing into the outfits we had snuck on to the yacht.

At this point, all that was left was for us enjoy the rest of our cruise before a fun night of Halloween fun at the Magic Kingdom. So, we all kicked back and relaxed for another half an hour. We snacked on desserts, talked about how much fun our dream day had been, laughed at the fact that the kids had been so completely fooled!

Enter my final (and personal favorite) surprise. Instead of returning to the Grand Floridian and then catching the monorail over to MK (as everyone else on the yacht was expecting, we would be...

DOCKING AT THE MAGIC KINGDOM ITSELF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was so giddy at the thought of arriving at the Magic Kingdom in the most magical of ways! For me, nothing short of Cinderella's pumpkin coach would have been a more magical way to arrive at the happiest place on earth! And I dare say that may not have been as stylish! ;)

When everyone started to figure out that we were starting to pull into the Magic Kingdom versus return to the Grand Floridian some were stunned into silence, others started to jump up and down and I even saw the dd (dear dad) from our friend's family doing a little dance! :rotfl:

Arriving at the Magic Kingdom on the deck of a yacht after the wonderful day that had preceded it is the ultimate moment for me of the entire vacation. It was the most amazing of moments. We were all so happy. We were all so excited. I had been dreaming of this moment for months. It was just as magical as I had expected it to be! I was on cloud nine for sure!:cloud9:

As we approached we felt like Disney VIPs!

Looking back at the best place for a high seas dessert party!

Right after I snapped this picture, I heard Goofy calling for me. He was petrified. Tons of people had turned to watch our arrival and were snapping pictures and taking video of us. :lmao: Sorry, it was only us and not the cast of Hannah Montana or something. :lmao: Seriously, so many people were watching us that it wigged Snow White (the 14 year old daughter) out as well. Aladdin was giving people half waves and half smiles. Stitch and Cinderella were waving huge arm flapping waves and shooting big toothy smiles at everyone. Abu was ignoring them. Poor Goofy and Snow White were cringing at the attention. Our Little Prince didn't seem to care either way. He was smiling the whole time. If someone caught his eye and smiled back, he got even smilier, otherwise he just took it all in. I thought it was so funny the very different ways that the different kids reacted to all of the unexpected attention.

I really hadn't thought about the attention that arriving at the Magic Kingdom aboard the Grand 1 would bring. Who would have imagined that it would cause such a fuss? I had only thought about how magical it would feel to do it.

The adults all played crowd blockers for Goofy and Snow White and let the other kids just fen for themselves (or enjoy the attention as some of them seemed to be doing). As we walked away from the dock, I heard someone telling their kids that we were from a Disney Channel show but they just couldn't place which one. I was laughing out loud at that thought! :rotfl2:

Eventually people seemed to lose interest in us and we were able to head over toward the Magic Kingdom's front gates with no further fanfare.

Stitch and our Little Prince had the coolest matching outfits thanks to my very dear friend and fellow DISer, MouseTriper. How cute are these Nightmare Before Christmas outfits?! Stitch was SO very happy to have his new baby brother dressed up to match him at MNSSHP!

Waiting while lockers were acquired to stash all of the party leftovers (not food, I had the cookies packed up in a Ziploc bag and the rest we had to leave what we didn't finish because the chocolate parts would have melted) we were toting along with us.
wddw08116.jpg

I absolutely adore this picture of Cinderella, Goofy and Stitch. Just look at how happy they are! By their faces alone, you can see how much fun we had all already had that day!
wddw08117.jpg

For me this day had started with a relaxing morning at the spa. Then the very tasty luncheon, Idaho Jones surprise arrival, the clues which led us on our adventure with Idaho throughout the grounds of the Grand Floridian, our special meeting with Mickey Mouse, a cruise on board the Grand 1, amazing Indiana Jones themed dessert party, and arriving at the Magic Kingdom on a yacht!!!! And I still had more to look forward to! This night would be spent with our dear family friends partying it up at MNSSHP! The part at MK was the cherry on top of an already incredible day!

UP NEXT: MNSSHP!

To be continued...

Tell me Jay, which Disney Channel show are you all on???

I love that people thought you guys were celebrities! What a fun way to end the day, I'm looking forward to hearing about MNSSHP!

Just wanted to say hi and what a great trip report! I subscribed a while ago but never commented 'til now (I kept thinking anything I would say would be lame!). You're family is adorable and looks like they will remember this forever! You are too awesome!! Your Little Prince reminds me of our family's LP. He's my nephew, who I'll call Kitty (after Sully who is his current obsession!) He was always a happy baby too, all smiles and giggles, and he is a VERY active (i.e. crazy) little 3 year old who we have spoiled in all things Disney. I can't wait til we take him on his first Disney trip. Anyway, love the report and look forward to more updates!

Awww, the boys look so cute in the NBC Christmas sets...I am so glad Stitch was able to wear his again!! I loved making them for your little ones!!! I hope you have more pics of Little Prince so I can see him with the shirt and the shorts...LOL....(you know me Jay...always wanting more pictures)!!! Hahaha.,

Your dream day has been so exciting, what a wonderful surprise to everyone. You rock Jay. I can't wait to read all about MNSSHP!!

I've seen that show, I've seen that show!!

THE SNEAKY MOM, THE KIDS, THE FRIENDS, AND THE NUGGET!!!

It's one of my favorites! :rotfl: :lmao:

What a great and awesome day!! The whole day from the spa to the party were just amazing and you did such a great job! :cheer2: :dance3: :yay: I bow to your creativity and ability to keep your mouth shut!! I just loved reading along and sharing it with all of you. Thanks so much, Jay!!

I cannot imagine arriving to the most magical place on earth by yacht! :cloud9: You are so clever "calling" to see if anymore tickets were available :worship: Everybody looks like they're having so much fun, what nice pictures. What's hilarious is the fact you have a TV show and never told us :lmao: :rotfl: You must have felt like a celebrity for a few minutes! I love the way your mind works, can't wait for party fun! :woohoo: (Oh, and we are in the 'teens', 19 more days!)

Oh and I forgot to mention how nice all the costumes were! :)

Wow what a way to arrive at MK and how funny that people thought you were celebrities, well you are on here :goodvibes

Love it! Love it! Love it! :goodvibes This was great! Such an amazing day! Isn't crowd psychology funny? Surely you must have been celebrities, who else would arrive at MK on a yacht? Maybe Disney channel should look you guys up! It would be a very cute show!

What a great day! I love the boys matching outfits, so cute. Looking forward to hearing about MNSSHP popcorn:: . It rained on our MNSSHP night in October.

Wow this is truly amazing! :thumbsup2 I never even knew things like all the wonderful stuff you surprised your kids with were possible!! No offense to my parents (they're great lol) but you just made every vacation I went on as a kid seem like nothing :rotfl:

This really does sound like the most magical day ever! I never even imagined such things could be done at WDW. What a wonderful treat for your family and friends!
