How long have you been on the diet? Maybe patience is in order? Good luck with your weight loss plan.

I know 3 people on it right now and they are losing a good deal of weight.

I looked into it but know that kind of weight loss plan is not for me. I'd never be able to stick to it long term and all the weight would come flooding back. LOL

What is it? I'd like to try if it's not restricting, I know I'm asking for a miracle :lmao:

I haven't heard about this diet either is there a link to it, or do you have to buy the book?

I'm always leary of any kind of "use our system, it works fast!" kind of diet. Weight loss should be slow and steady to promote changing your eating habits so you keep it off.

I've lost 9 pounds in almost 7 weeks by just counting calories and getting moving. I use www.myfitnesspal.com , which is free and also has a phone app. I eat 1250 calories a day plus any I burn from exercise (so I usually am eating closer to 1500-1600 a day) and the weight is just falling off. I can eat anything I want, although I chose to eat healthier foods so I can have more of it. :P

Sure, I'm not going to lose 20 pounds in a month, but I didn't gain it all overnight and I don't intend to lose it overnight, either. I want to instill better eating habits in myself along the way.

I have tried it, and did lose some weight, but it was really too restrictive for me and my family. I was having a hard time finding meals to fix for my family. My DH and I both tried it, but it seems 17 days on the first stage was too much for us. good luck if you try it.

I also agree that a fast weight loss system isn't the best route. My DH and I started Weight Watchers last October. We've each lost 26 lbs. We don't feel like we're on a diet at all. The new points system is AWESOME and you really can plan on eating anywhere. It's all in what you choose. :thumbsup2

And "Hungry Girl" books and the website have REALLY given us fantastic recipes and tips. both Hungry Girl and Weight Watchers makes it very easy to lose weight and keep it off. ( without ripping anyone's head off in the process !! ) :goodvibes

all three friends that are on it have been on Weight Watchers (one is a lifetime member) and all say this is easier than Weight Watchers. But it is very restrictive.

Best diet ever:

Not paying attention to portion sizes but WHAT I am eating. Cut down on processed food (including my favorite - cheese)and alcohol, no meat, fill up on organic grains (cook at home rice, quinoa, millet as the side starch instead of potatoes) as many vegetables as possible, at least one fresh food at each meal, fruit in the morning, every morning (not just fruit, also oatmeal or whole wheat toast and peanut butter, but sometimes just a ton of fruit and soy yogurt), limit dairy, and exercise. I lost about 15 lbs and going down! Every thing is LIMIT not ELIMINATE.

But I'd like to lose 15 lbs by this weekend. Is there a diet for that?

The fastest I've lost weight is in these last few months when I quit eating dairy. I've lost 20 pounds since Christmas without even really trying.

I've never even heard of the 17 day diet, but it sounds similar to what I decided to do on my own. I eat lots of whole grains, eat dairy only once a week, meat only once a week (then it's fish or chicken), lots of fresh fruits and veggies and just all around healthy food. I also started exercising a while back to go along with it. I've lost 35 lbs so far. I want to lose another 15. I'll be at my goal weight then. I can tell you that the last 15 lbs has been a lot harder and slower than the first 15! I lost the first 15 in about 3 weeks. Now, I'm only losing about a pound a week. That's fine with me. I know it's harder to lose weight when you get closer to the ideal weight for your body. I also know this is a lifelong commitment to eat healthy and not a diet for me. Good luck with whatever you do.

I am doing HCG and have lost almost 27 pounds since March 5th. Very happy!

Another low carb supporter here. I hate going on it, but once I do I feel better, have more energy, sleep better, and lose weight. If I could just get over WANTING to eat junk I would be great LOL

I won't get into a big discussion here because not everyone agrees or is familiar with this diet but I will suggest you go here http://hcgdietinfo.com/hcgdietforums/forum.php and read about it.

I was very skeptical at first but my girlfriend, who is a hospital administrator, suggested we try it and now most of the nurses and Dr. in her dept are doing it. I feel great, no hunger nada!!!

Feel free to PM me for more info.
