160 extra Disney Rewards Points by asking...

To the OP I just have to say THANK YOU!!!!! I sent the email and stated that not only was my disney credit card with them, but also my mortgage. I said that I was disapointed that others had gotten $200 when I had only received $40 back in 2008 and also that I was never invited to earn bonus dollars.

Well, I received a reply that "As a gesture of our commitment to you as one of our valued cardmembers, I have added $160 Disney Dream Reward Dollars
to the account. This adjustment will appear on the next
billing statement."

I sent the original email this morning and by 1:30 this afternoon, there were an additional $160 Disney Dream Dollars in my account.

This will go a long way towards my daughters birthday trip next month!!!!!!

THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Email sent, Fingers crossed!!! :rolleyes1:rolleyes1

I have to wonder what they are thinking getting all these emails :lmao:

Good for you! I just looked and the current offer to apply is only a $15 gift card-whoopie do...

I wish I would have thought to apply for one in DH's name when the $200 gift card offer was out.

I got the $15 too-I think I'm going to try emailing them as well.

WOW! I am definitely going to go email them as well. I got the $100 one, so it will only be $100, but hey, a $100 is a $100! I was reluctant because I had signed up a year ago, but since you said 2008, it gives me hope!

Jenny

Me too. We signed up in Oct of 09, but when I saw that, I figured what the heck, I'll try. I wrote one for mine and my husband's. We got the DVC $100 offer, but hey that's still $200 for our next trip! Thank you OP!! This whole thing was sticking in my craw, but I didn't have the slightest bit of hope that they would actually do anything about it.

I too am a "Charter Member". All I got for signing up was a commerative pin. My DM signed up a few years later and got $50, I think. I'm off to write an email.

Added-I just sent one off. I'll post what happens.

ADDED-see post next page for results of my email.

I don't see any thing wrong with what you did. You asked and you received. Good for you. Congrats on the extra money.

I never got anything for signing up a few years ago, but I went ahead and sent a polite email detailing my great account history and asking for any help they could give.

Crossing my fingers.....

They don't care. This is just a drop in the bucket for them. You are all becoming very happy customers right now. It's literally a business writeoff/expense for them.

Any you'll go into the office or school or church tomorrow and tell your friends how you got these amazing free dollars from them and you are now becoming free advertising for them. "Oh, wow, how do I sign up for that?"

It's a win/win all the way around.

Thank you OP!

I sent an email late yesterday ( I am a "Charter Member" only got a pin for joining, blah, blah, blah) and while I didn't score as well as some of you are reporting I did get something

So I got $50 which isn't $200 but is so much better than a pin. Thanks again OP.:cool1:

$50 more dollars to spend on vacation. I had just ordered my rewards card early yesterday (before I read this) so I will add my free $50 to my card once I get it.

Yippee! I love free money.

Wow - Chase is fast - I sent a message yesterday and had the extra dollars posted to my account today! $100 more for Disney stuff for us! I've also signed up for the $100 checking account deal (not a GC, but a $100 credit after either direct deposit or 5 debit transactions). Hopefully that will go as smoothly.....

Don't feel bad, it is $50!!! I only got $50 too (not the $100 difference), but I am still ecstatic!!! Already transferred it over onto the Rewards card, as we leave in 21 days!!!

BTW, as long as it shows the reward card info in the reward section, you can transfer it at any time!

Mine is already there. I actually looked at it before I opened their message. ;)I'm just waiting until I get the physical card in my hands before I do the transfer. Just in case it doesn't get here for some reason and then I can get a card while at WDW.

Okay, I'm going to get flamed for saying this by some, but ...

I emailed chase about my disney rewards visa that I got a $40 credit by signing up online through disney.com. But that I saw some people got up to a $200 credit by signing up through other sources and that I did not appreciate knowing that my business was less valuable than others simply because of where they learned of their Disney Visa. Is their anything that can be done to address this?

Anyways, I received a credit for 160 rewards dollars, so they did end up giving me a credit for the difference between the $40 promotion I received and the $200 promotion others received. Now, I've also put $5k on the card in less than 45 days (paid off $4k of it already.) so perhaps that is having something to do with it?

I know people will tell me I'm taking advantage of the system or that I'm not entitled to a difference in the promotions, but I know others will want to know this is something they can try if they just got their card. I got mine in June.

I also signed up and got the $40 credit only to learn that other incentives were being offered. I never thought to write until reading your post. Thanks.

I got the same email from the same person, except that mine was for $100 instead of $50. Thanks for the suggestion OP! :cool1:

Mine was from the same person too! This chick is probably thinking WTH? I just sent another one for my DH's account - so we'll see if it's still the same person. I hope she doesn't remember my last name and think...greedy little family, I'll give them $0!

I did mention I was hoping to get the $100 difference this time, so we'll see what she says.

Jenny

P.S. Even if she gives me $0, I'm still up $50 - fastest $50 I've ever made!

has anyone tried this with the chase checking account? I opened mine a few months back and got the $25 reward but now people are getting $100?? Do I email them or just open another account?

I would email first. I think you have to be a NEW customer to get another checking bonus, so I would definitely email them and say you WERE a new customer and blah blah blah, etc.

Jenny

What e-mail adress are you sending it to?

It's great they are responding to so many of you. It doesn't cost them much and return it shows good customer service.:thumbsup2

I too, was the recipent of a pin when I joined on day one. :rotfl:

thanks so much op- I originally got $15 this summer when I signed up-I really wanted the cc for our trip to Disney World although at the time I was bummed that I couldn't get more I was happy to get what I got.
