$150 upcharge for unlimited fastpasses??

DLR Paris used a 30 minute window which was strictly enforced. Plus they just do not have as many good rides as the other three resorts. So they have been doing their own thing with FP for a number of years now.

They have been doing their own thing, for sure - the 30 minute time slot is still rigourously enforced. Another problem with paying for FP's is that someone will find a way to produce them illegally - take a look at e-Bay (french listings) and you won't have a problem in buying 10 fake FP's at a few euros each - which allow you to get multiple FP's at DLRP (they work too -apparently) Do we want the US parks to go down this route - no thanks. Although I must admit I do love staying on-site at Universal Orlando (they own 3 hotels, or rather Loews do) and getting unlimited front of line as part of the room rate - this could work in DLP with 3 Disney hotels - would definitely stay onsite then.

Just to note, the pass sold at Paris did NOT require you to get a fast pass.
You simply showed it and could then walk into any fast pass line.

If you had to use the pass at fast pass machine and still wait for window no one would buy it.

Now if they had a $150/person/day for a "Enter From the Exit" pass. then I'd be all over that!

They already have this...just rent a wheelchair and you get to enter from the exit and you never have to wait! sorry I got so sick of people jumping out of their rented wheelchairs to get on a ride with no wait. Yes, I know some people NEED wheelchairs but the people I am talking about were just pushing a wheelchair around with no one in it til the last minute and then they walked right off the ride and pushed the chair around.

We even saw 2 ladies (not together) in ECVs wearing Shape Ups! Yeah they can't wait in a line in their ECVs but they sure need to wear Shape Up shoes.

This I don't understand. When we took my grandma, she was in her wheelchair, and we actually waited longer for POTC than I have ever waited in my life for it. The exit line was backed up to the store outside the ride. And don't even start on people cutting in front of you while pushing a wheelchair - why put up with that headache?

I'm sorry, but I have to voice an objection to your comment that "They already have this... just rent a wheelchair...."

First of all, the wait for the accessible queue is sometimes longer than the "normal" queue. It is NOT a front of the line pass. It's a pass that accommodates various health situations.

Secondly, when you see someone in a wheelchair or ECV, you have no clue what their situation is. I have been to Disneyland in a wheelchair. I was in the hospital 3 weeks prior to the day, a friend was having a big get together at DLR for a major birthday, and I got the okay from my doctor to go IF I used a wheelchair and was not on my feet for more than 10 minutes at a time.

My DH pushed me around the entire time. We used the accessible queue when available and I stood up and walked right into the ride cars, restrooms, crowded shops (for 5 minutes), and restaurants when possible and quick.

We thought about renting an ECV so no one had to have the burden of pushing me around, but due to cost different, DH offered to push.

And, btw, I wear Shape-Ups.

i had to be in a whell chair in disney world it sucked i hated it but i had to be because at a job i did try out i got messed over an hurt my legs (both ankles) an i still feel pain from them any time i walk just a bit to much. So yes i can walk fine but when im at the parks or some other places if i have the money i will rent a ECV or wheel chair an i know some ppl may get pissed off but sorry its not an excuse i actuely have moments where my entire ankle feels like it snaps. tho the doctor says he finds noting wrong..

sorry to rant just ya be careful you never know why some one has a wheel chair

now on the topic of the fast pass thing i dont think they should do it. I dont mind buying tickets to fan,an woc an things like that but not paying for fast passes

Well I am going to bring some reason to the party.

I can buy a 1 park 1 day ticket for $68 or go from a 3 day to 4 day for a fee of $15.

So lets go with the idea that you came for a day and missed out and wanna see some more so you buy a second day and pay $68 that leaves you $82 for a hotel to break even.

Now for the park hoopers thats a no brainer.


Disney can do as they wish but for me a family of 5 there is no way for me to afford this. I will just buy a longer hopper.

Did you know ShapeUps work for some people's leg/ankle disabilities the same way that custom orthotics do, only the ShapeUps cost $100 a pair and custom orthotics cost $500 to $800 per pair? My mother, whose leg problems prevent her from being able to walk very far or for very long, uses ShapeUps to allow her to walk as much as she does because her doctor told her to buy them instead of paying for orthotics.

Do you also look at "apparently" healthy people with handicapped parking tags and just assume they're frauds as well?

It wasn't dug up to talk about that post, but of course people saw it.

I can think of several reasons why someone who needs a wheelchair some/most of the time might choose to push it some of the time.

I've gone in the accessible line with a friend, and it was NOT faster at all than the other line. Might have seemed it to others, but it wasn't. might be faster on SOME days on SOME rides at some specific moments...but there is absolutely positively NO guarantee that that is going to happen. It's not even *supposed to* happen.

Sometimes the parks are so slow that fastpasses are not really faster, and most rides don't have fastpass lines at all... Now if they had a $150/person/day for a "Enter From the Exit" pass. then I'd be all over that!

I agree with this logic. The $150. would be a waste. Esp. since less than 10% of the rides even HAVE a fastpass. So...does that mean you'd just ride those 7 rides over and over again so you have no lines? Ummm...not likely. Most of the really fun rides don't even have a fastpass, so what's the point?

I would pay A LOT to have that enter from the exit pass. We could probably do both parks in one or two days (instead of stretching it over 5 days), so think of all the money you'd save!!!

On the less crowded days I went over my trip the only rides with FP open were Space, Indy, and Roger (in DL). Space had a 10 minute wait without a FP. Indy was longer (but FP really doesn't help all that much there either). So in most cases, total waste. Now the week between Christmas and New Years, might make sense.

Either way, doubt it's happening, as others have said.

At 6 flags a few years back they had a FP type option, but you had to purchase it per person for 50 or 60. No FP for us regular peasants!

$150 per person, per day doesn't seem like it would EVER make financial sense for anyone.

For a family of 4, that would be $600 more, PER DAY. That's insane. Nobody would do that...it would cost more for that than to buy multi-day park hoppers and stay at the GCH.

For MY family, to do that would cost $900 more per day! It would be entirely ******** for Disney to implement something like this, with these specific terms, because nobody would be dumb enough to buy it.

Clearly, it must be rumor. And not even a well thought out one, at that.
