150 points now...will that be the same in 5 years?

If right now 150 points gets me 1 week in a studio in May (just an example), will that same 150 points get me a week in a studio in May five years from now?

In other words, will my 150 points that I initially buy always get me at least a studio somewhere during an off peak time or will that go up to as inflation rises?

My agent told me that Disney has to keep the points somewhat in line (or something like that), but does that mean 150 now gets me at least the same or similar five years from now?

Thanks! (this is dh's question!) :)

The number of points on the chart never changes. They can, however, redistribute them, so that a particular week 5 years from now would have a different number of points than that "same" week this year. Certain weeks are strongly affected by when holidays fall, such as Easter.

As MaryAnnDVC explained, the total points can't be changed, but may be reallocated- so if some dates are raised- others must be lowered.

In fact, this has happened only once- at OKW in 1996. A few nights were lowered by a few points, a few were raised by a few points and most weren't changed at all.

While DVC has the right to modify the points in this manner to better facilitate the reservation system, I don't expect to see much change in the future.

Enjoy!

Be aware, however, that the point requirements for NON-DVC reservations (DCL,COLLECTION,etc) continue to go...........UP!!!!!

Excellent point.

And also keep in mind that they've added many more ways to use your points than what was offered when the program began. :D :D :D :D
