I just denied myself a Little Debbie nutter bar...and opted for some extra strawberries/blackberries. YEAH!!! I did have about 20 semi-sweet chocolate chips..I'm trying really hard to cut out sugar for the next four weeks to up my losses. The semi-sweet chips are enough chocolate to curb my cravings and very few carbs compared to a nutter bar! :)

Need to get more water in, though...I've only had one glass today!!! One diet mountain dew and that's it!!! Isn't that crappy???? Off to fill up a glass! :)

Tara

Oh, I LOVE Peanut Butter!!!!! Why of why does it have to be so high in calories?!?

Oh well. On to today's yes and no's:

I said NO to breakfast at Burger King. I took the girls out for a last breakfast out before school starts tomorrow. I just got a diet Coke and had 3 hash rounds from the girls.

I said YES to walking...did the 1 mile again, so far only have missed one day of our 13 day challenge. (I have mentioned that I REALLY HATE EXERCISE? :rolleyes2 ) :teeth:

Debra, you are doing great! It is so hard to start exercising and stick with it. I don't think anyone really loves it. Eventually, you will feel better doing it than not doing it, it will become a habit, and you'll just keep going. That's what I have to do -- don't give myself time to think about it, just do it! I think it's great that you decided to start! The first mile is the hardest, and you've already done that -- multiple times :flower:

I have been stuggling with my eating the past couple of days. For some reason I have been craving sweets. I think that I just have too many things going on right now. I have already made my lunch and breakfast was well as snacks tomorrow. I have found I do best with staying on program, when I plan ahead and not just grab what is easy.

On a better note, I did get up and do the elliptical machine for 20 min. this morning. I will set my alarm again tomorrow and I plan on doing both the elliptical machine and the weight machine.

I know I can do this, it is just a matter of focusing more on myself, and doing what I need to do to lose this weight. I have alot of support, but I just seem to always get to a certain point and than I start sabotaging myself.

A little more about the trip. Our trip went well, we did a sand dune ride, which both kids loved. DS4 and DH sat in the front seat with the driver. This driver was awsome, and really made DS feel important, he told him it was his job to make sure we didn't run out of gas. There were also several other times that he just went out of his way to involve DS, who of course just loved all the attention. We also discovered that the town had a duck ride, which for those who may not know it is a truck that goes on both land and water. We also spent a lot of time just hanging at the campground going for walks and riding bikes.

Good morning fellow losers.

I got the ugly bandage off Tues. I get the stitches out next Tuesday. Finally feel human after sleeping in my own bed last night. When I got the bandage off Tues the surgeon said the biceps tendon was ruptured and frayed so he had to do alot of repair on it as well as the fix the rotator cuff tear. I guess that is why he scheduled 2 hrs for surgery, not being exactly sure what he was going to find when he got the shoulder opened up.

During this time off I did not manage to get any planned exercise in but did burn calories finishing up the wood floor in the family room and helping Erin put up the border around her room after she painted it. I made sure I didn't do any damage to the healing shoulder.

Congrats everyone one sticking with your goals and continuing on your losing journey. I can't seemed to get or stay motivated to exercising. The main eating problem is I am not eating enough which can be worse than eating too much. Need to get one thing down and then try for the other.

Goals for today:
1. Walk 2 - 3 miles.
2. Drink 64 oz of water

Off to get new tire for the car. Will check back in later.

Have a GREAT losing day.

Glad to see you here, Kathy! (but not hurting the shoulder)

Yesterday was pretty good. I forgot about lunch because I was on here...which is BAD...because it means "snacking all day until I find some protein and or water". Today will be better. I've had an egg with ham (2 points) and a peach sliced and dipped into vanilla Light N Fit yogurt (3).

Today I have to:
Get to the library to pick up that book (walking because my bike doesn't work)
Laundry!! (I'm thinking some rounds of Xtreme Laundry)
Drink lots of water
Maybe a spot or five of random dancing.

And also my mom gave me money for pizza today. Either I'm not going to spend it, or I'm going to go and get a salad (they have the NUMMIEST salads ever!) It will probably be saved because A) I don't know POINTS counts and I don't feel like figuring them out, and B) Money saved is money for DISNEY!!

Have a great day, y'all! I'll be back.

Good morning TEAM!!!

Kathy GREAT TO SEE YOU BACK in the swing! :Pinkbounc How in the world did you tear your biceps tendon? Were you trying to start a new career in bodybuilding?? That sounds extremely painful to me...I'm glad you feel like you're getting up to a better speed.

TC...ENJOY that salad today and skip the pizza...you'll appreciate all the good veggies in that salad and will feel stronger after. And kudos on walking to the library! That's the ticket!

Regina...I know what you mean about eating wrong...I don't know why I do it sometimes but those Nutter bars just look so tempting! But in reality, the fruits and nuts make me feel so much better..make sure you have some fresh stuff on hand and some almonds/cashews/peanuts around for a snack..the protein in those really seem to curb my craving for sweets. Let's do this together...I've tried to really focus on not eating foods this week that have sugars in them...meaning real refined sugar in them...so instead of the teriyaki chicken I was going to cook tonight I'll have stir-fried soy chicken...it's amazing how some sugars (corn syrup) are hidden in foods I don't think about.

Maria! You're so encouraging and I just wanted to say THANK YOU!!!

Debra...let's try some psychology 101 tricks...now focus on the dancing banana on the left...as I count to 10 slowly, imagine yourself on the beach at ClubMed...the aerobics instructor is Brad Pitt and his two assistants are Constantine from American Idol and Denzel Washington (trying to hit all demographics here)...now keep focusing on the banana...and watching the instructors as they tell you ..."Debra, you are treating your body marvelously, look at those muscles gleam as you do your lunges...we are sooo PROUD of you...would you like to join us on a Caribbean tour for our next video.."Boys with Brawn and Girls with Gams?" Now, you say "YES" to exercise and your outlook is refreshed! :)

I do have gorgeous gams under these fleshy thighs! :) I did my walking this morning....slept late and missed my walking partner....I didn't get out of the door until 6am...but made it in good time and it was a beautiful morning!!! That's a big part of my exercise...I don't think I could get myself out to go to a gym every morning and stare at CNN on the TV...but seeing those glorious sunrises and feeling the morning breeze really get me excited to be out there....granted it takes me almost halfway before I'm awake enough to notice! :)

Good news on our house...the inspector only found 2 light bulbs that need to be replaced!!! YEAH!!! Now hoping the termite inspection comes back clear! :)

Good morning!

Yesterday was a great day! I had another 100% on point day, which I'm in shock of myself! LOL! I will have another OP day today and want to get into this pattern, as the "feed the teachers as we welcome them back to work" extravaganza will begin next Monday. Of course, I always appreciate the back to school luncheons and whatnot, but it's not always the healthiest food.

For the past two days, I've been trying to make some of my favorite foods healthier. I had chicken fajitas last night (I love them!) and my dad helped me grill the chicken. I bought pinto beans combined them with sour cream and put that on my whole wheat tortilla. I topped it with chicken, lettuce, tomatoes, and black olives. It was wonderful! I did put some chili powder on, but I think I needed more...I do like a little kick with my fajitas.

Oh, and someone said something about peanut butter. (Wow, that is a wonderfully correct statement...lol!) According to my nutritionist, peanut butter is actually ok to have in moderation. It's one of the two healthy fats and a typical serving size (for one fat) is 2 teaspoons. Personally, I buy the organic peanut butter (at my local grocery store). I don't eat a ton of organic stuff, but I do indulge on a few items. This peanut butter is literally peanuts and salt...that's it! So, the peanut butter needs to be refrigerated because there are no preservatives. Honestly, though, it's lasts for a very, very long time. I personally love the taste...picture excellent roasted peanuts with none of the other junk...so good! The brand I enjoy is Arrowhead Mills.

Maria - Thanks for the kudos on eating out! It was hard to make a choice at first, but I really tried to listen to my body! Oh, and I can't change everything at the same time either. Personally, I've been working on eating right all this week...I'll add more exercise next week. I can't do both well at first!

Nikki - Nice to see you again over here on WISH! :wave2: Thanks for the info. on the wheat pasta. I tried it one time and didn't like it, but I usually give things another chance...I'll have to look for that brand in the store next time! :)

Tara - Good for you for making an excellent food substitution choice! It seems so trivial to those who aren't in this health battle, but I know how hard it is to make a decision like that sometimes! Yeah! Love the exercise video for Debra, but if it involves anyone hot like Brad Pitt...I'll just be standing there drooling! :teeth:

Debra - Same to you...I'm proud of you for staying away from BK! (Although I will admit that I love their food!) It's hard to make a decision like that so awesome job! :cheer2: And, I hate exercise, too!

Regina - Good for you for getting back on board! You can do it! :) I have been to the sand dunes in Michigan myself. My sister and I had a great time there with our parents! Lots of fun! :)

Kathy - It's so great to hear from you! Please take it slow...we don't want you to get hurt! :) I think you said it exactly right...get one thing down and then move onto the next. I'm the same way! I can't do too much at one time!

Tiger - It sounds like you have some great moves planned for today! Awesome! You will be burning calories like crazy! :) I'm so jealous of your upcoming Disney trip! Want to pack me in your suitcase? :earboy2:

Linda - Have a wonderful trip! Can't wait to hear all about it when you return! :)

Have a fabulous day!

Lisa

Day 8: Despite being urged by Senate leaders to call for air strikes, President Kennedy addresses the American public and announces his resolve to implement a naval blockade only. U.S. military alert is set at DEFCON 3 and Castro mobilizes all of Cuba's military forces.

Day 8: I announce my resolve that while on vacation, I am not going to eat like there is no tomorrow! I am going to do my best to maintain. I know that when I get back it will probably be discouraging to get on the scale, but I am committed to assessing the situation and then tackling it head on.

So, how are we doin'? I'm not flying like last night, but I'm feeling good. I walked the loop around my office this morning for an hour. Yes, I was the only one here. There are only 3 of us here this week, and I'm the only one silly enough to show up before 7:30. Probably not the best use of my time workwise, but I couldn't resist since I know I won't be able to get on the treadmill tonight. I have to go to a meeting out in a suburb and won't get home until late. So, I don't feel all that guilty, because I'm working more than an hour extra today, trust me.

Lisa -- The fajitas sound yummy! And I will try the peanut butter. Right now to get my pb fix, I eat a 1/2 c. of Edy's Grand Light Slow Churned Fudge Tracks. It has teeny tiny peanut butter cups. It makes a great dessert, and is very satisfying.

Linda -- I can't believe you checked in from the World!! It sounds like you are having a wonderful time. We miss you, and I can't wait to hear your encouraging words when I get back. By that time you will be well into your new program!

Tara -- I love your advice for Debra...I paused a minute when you told her to focus on the dancing banana and Brad Pitt in the same sentence...Why doesn't he ask me to have his baby?! Oh, yeah, I guess I'd have to say no because my husband might object :rotfl:

Jen -- I hope you enjoyed a fantastic salad. This is definitely the weather when they taste the best! And do a spot of dancing for me :dancer:

Kathy -- I think the motivation will come back as you feel better. Your body was just subjected to a trauma, you have to let it recover. Please be kind to yourself!

Regina -- Your trip sounds great! I know how hard it is to focus on yourself with little ones running around. We are the last thing we take care of, because we're so busy taking care of everyone else. But you deserve to feel good. Even if you don't have time to get everything right, just try to focus on one or two things. It's a slow process, but if you take babysteps, you'll get there.

Debra -- How are you doing with the start of school? I know that has to feel weird, even though it's something you've been anticipating. I hope everything is going well.

Nikkibell -- Please tell us a little more about you! I have a dh and ds7, work full-time, and am hopelessly addicted to SciFi Friday...

So, keep up the good work! And if you're not feeling real motivated right now, remember September is the perfect time for a new beginning :wave2:

Is this program going on right now? I am in desperate need of someone to help me loose weight.
Thanks
Michele

ShellyL as long as someone needs to reach the 150's we're all gonna still be going on! :) COME ON IN!!! Share with us you goals, successes, struggles and we'll help cheer you down!! :)

:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:
I need another TC cheer! :) I'm just no good working out those cheers and rhymes!! When TC does a cheer I can actually feel the rhthym and lock it in my head when I face the next nutter bar! :)

Tara

Hi ShellyL!

You are more than welcome to join us. We are not all on one specific plan -- WW, SB, Atkins, counting calories, etc., but we are all trying to get to the 150s!

Hi Everyone!!!! :cool1:

Today so far has been a very good day. I think I actually am now on track again!!!!! YAY! I walked for a little over an hour today and did my walking route THREE, yes, count it, three times! I can't remember my exact mileage, but will try to post it once I go back downstairs to check out my pedometer.

I have set it according to my stride, but may check it again. It still feels like I am walking way more than what it is reading. :confused3

Lisa - Your fajitas sound absolutely decadent! You must Fedex some to me! lol I actually was planning on making fajitas tonight. I have these amazing tomato and pepper tortillas from Stop 'N' Shop and they're low carb and very low cal. I really like them! :) I do have fat free sour cream, lettuce, tomatoes, chicken, etc. I always wind up filling them too much though. Is there any secret???

A few people asked for more info about me...Here it comes!

I am a fifth grade Reading and Language Arts teacher here in New Jersey. I have a boyfriend of three years named Sean who has spoiled me terribly hence my gaining 100 pounds since we have been together.

I really adore Disney and am looking forward to planning a Christmas trip not this year but the next. I am so excited! We are hoping to stay at the Poly.

I am trying to lose the 100 pounds I have gained since meeting Sean and really want to do this in the right way. So far, it has had its ups and downs, but I think it will happen!

Great job today, gang! :disrocks:

Welcome ShellyL! Tell us somethings about you!

I didn't get my salad. Instead I got dragged to a buffet...with no SALAD BAR!!! Utterly shocked me. I had 8 breadsticks...a 2 small pizza slices...15 points!!!!!!!!! GACK! Enough water to fill 3 12-oz glasses, and a liter at home.

(I am definitely going to have a salad tonight even if it means I have to pick the veggies myself! I am determined to get one!!)

Who needs a cheer? The 150ers do!!

:cheer2: No temptation!
:cheer2: No, no! Temptation!
:cheer2: Fit's the best sensation!
:cheer2: We don't need temptation!
:cheer2: Do I really need that? (no!)
:cheer2: Do I REALLY need that? (NO!)
:cheer2: No temptation!
:cheer2: No no temptation!
:cheer2: Create a new sensation
:cheer2: Back away from that snack!

Mucho grande hugs!

I have been diagnosed with PCOS so no matter how I"ve tried I keep gaining. My last WDW trip I was about 220.. now I"m close to 240 and I"m 5'9"... also quite.. ahem.. busty.. but more tummy and thigh than I should have...I was always about 150 and VERY happy there until I balooned up the past few yeaers because of this damn disease.. I'm going to a specialist sept 19.. YAY! hoping they cna help.. but going to WDW before that.. in 2 weeks in fact.

You ladies can probably help?? I remember at 220 space mountain was a bit.. ahem.. tight of a fit (I remember it sitting 2.. now it's one? or am I that big? lol!)... I"m scared I won't .. fit... this time around:(

I guess what I"m asking is... I'm size 18... weigh about 235 or so.. 5'9".. anyone close to my size to give me pointers on attractions to AVOID to keep from being sent away for being too big? I read in another threat that the sci fi cafe booths are small.. but size is relative and sometimes I feel as tho I look more to be 550 lbs than what I am.... Any tips would be appreciated. I've reached a point I avoid some rides at local amusement parks for fear I'm "too big" .. I would hate to avoid anything at disney!

Count me in on this club.

TC!! LOVE THAT CHEER>>>NO I DON'T REALLY NEEEEEEED that nutter bar!!! Whew! You saved me from that one sitting on the counter! :)

Lisa!!!   GREAT Onplan days!!! I'm sooo pumped for you!!! Doesn't it give you a boost of Oooomph when you see yourself doing it and actually like making the right decision instead of thinking you're sacrificing taste or cravings...it IS good to eat well and it WILL change your life! :)

Okay, Maria, all those Little Debbie Senators are in my pantry demanding an all out massive undertaking on my part...but I think I'll side with Kennedy on this one and call out for just the Naval blockade...which in this case means BRING ON THE WATER GANG!!!! :) Love your little history snippets!!!!

Cinrell!!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: WELCOME!!! I'm really trying hard to figure out what PCOS is....you'll have to bring us some infor so we can help you turn the corner on that beast! Hoping your doctor has some great tips for you to get you started! Well, I was 245 and 5'8 when I went to Disney 4 years ago...I really could ride all the rides...I just couldn't squeeze two kids in with me...so my husband would sit with the two little girls on splash Mountain or Pirates and I'd sit with my son. All the bars came down even on Rock-n-Roller coaster...so with you having an extra inch on me you'll do just fine! All my weight settles in my hips and thighs so that seat room was might tight sometimes...Boy, I'm 177 now and I can't tell you how GREAT it feels to get on those rides now...you WILL do this..and in time you'll see the new you coming back...I think since you have been at 150 and remember what it felt like is a great visionary tool to use....Go in that closet and pull out a pair of jeans from then and vow you will wear them again!!! And as those 18's get loose.. THROW THEM OUT!!! Don't give yourself an excuse to wear them again! :) YOU CAN DO THIS!!!

I had potato salad for lunch...had a whole nutter bar...okay let's be honest I had 3 sticks which is 1.5 nutter bars....that's what I get for eating all the strawberries and blackberries yesterday! I need more fruit in this house and will go get some fresh stuff tonight and a big batch of fresh salad fixins! :) This weigh in I have a feeling will be a GREAT one!!! I snuck a peak at 177 this morning and with lots of water and no more nutter bars I can see 176 by Saturday!!! :) Then I want to get 6 pounds off in the next two weeks...just 2 more days of walking and I'd have completed my 26 miles this week! :)

YES, we're doing it!
Tara

Thanks tara!

I tried posting a link to PCOS but if you go to yahoo you can type in PCOS and there are some what are PCOS and PCOS support sites that pull up.. it wont' let me type in URLs here yet:(

So.. basically I have to figure out thru my specialist what meds to get on to regulate my metabolism. I don't properly metabolize sugar of any kind. so despite diet/exercise... I gain. Funny thing is people say well.. avoid sugar.. not realizing sugar is naturally in MANY foods!!!

Thanks again for the encouragement and CONGRATS on teh GREAT JOB losing wt! At this point 180 sounds divine! I *will* do it!

*hugs*
Cindy

Welcome CinRell!!!! Glad to have you here!

Hey gang-I had my SALAD!!! It was YUMMY!!! It was no fruit-dipper yum (because it's veggies...UCK) but it was good in its own rite.

Glad my cheer was able to help you Tara!

Mucho grande **hugs**!

Hi Everyone,
Thanks for the encouragement, I know I can do this, and I will make my goal of onderland by my vacation.

Today went much better, I stayed on program and even was able to have a small dish of Edys' Slow Churned Ice Cream. I did get up this morning and do both the wieght machine and the elliptical machine. I also took a short walk at my parents tonight. I even got all of my water in, which is the first time in a long time I did that.

Welcome Cinrell - I hope the doctor can help you. You will definatly find the support you need here.

TigerCheer - Glad to hear you stuck to your commitment to have a salad for dinner.
