Lisa!! YEAH You can do it!!! I think you've got a great doctor there...losing it by paying attention to your diet and exercise will help it stay off compared to using pills...my mother drives to another state to get "pills" and swears by them but in the three years she's been using them she's lost probably 50 pounds but only a net loss of maybe 5...she'll lose/gain lose/gain...and I don't think 3 years of pills is going to be that healthy for her. I even dislike slimfast because of the artificial sweetener in it...but I figure a month of slimfast is better than a year with the extra 10 pounds on. I'm going to work really hard on getting my water in....I think I've averaged about 15 ounces of water a day!!! Isn't that STINKY!!!

JEN!!! You're not FAT AT ALLL!!!!! :cheer2: I think I see a cheer coming on!!! :) I really really love it when others say encouraging things like that...what I dread hearing is all my relatives/friends who say "When are you going to stop losing weight..." when I've still got 10 pounds to go. I don't think I'll ever be below 143 again...but I guarantee you at 153 everyone will tell me to stop losing...I'm almost 5'8 but 140's is where I should really be...it's amazing when I read actresses who are 5'8 and weigh 115!!! OUCH!!! I've got 30 pounds on them easy when at goal and people tell me to stop losing! But, I've got 25 pounds before I'll hear those words!!! COME ON 25 pounds!!! :)

I did my 4.3 walk today....just realized that I can't do it anymore this week until Sunday because dh leaves on a business trip and just realized that I really can't leave the kids alone in the house...looks like it'll be cardio pilates for me the next three days or the 4miler WATP tape....I'll still get up and do it early so I'll get it knocked out. But must up my water!!!!

Tara

Good morning everyone...I am stiff and sore from cheerleading practice. It seriously whipped my butt! We learned 1.5 dances (they have a lot of jumps and things in them) a cheer and all us JVers learned a chant.

Today is also the end of my 100 day challenge!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've been 100 days without chips/snackies, juice and McyD's burgers! I'm done! I'm done! I'M DONE! I made it...I didn't think I would but now I did!

Tara-I know! It's exciting! But to think that they think they are fat makes my heart break. The girls who were with me are runners during the spring, and pretty darn good ones at that...they are the ones who think that they are "so fat". But they really aren't! I don't know HOW to get it into their heads. The varsity cheerleaders aren't skinny, but in no way are they fat! The only person that's super duper skinny is on JV, but A) she's really athletic, B) I don't know how she does it, C) it will probably come back to bite her in the bum in the future. TOM has left my house...I'm pretty darn sure! And also, if you signed up for the teen library program, (which reminds me: FIND YOUR READING LOG), there's a scavenger hunt...a city-wide one. NB's not too big, but when you can't drive, think again. You can do it Tara Tara!

Miss Lisa! Hi! How are you feeling today? I'm so glad you are helping yourself without using pills! You can do this. Good luck on the paperwork.

Morning All!! :sunny:

I don't know where this summer is going to - here it is mid-July and I haven't experienced boredom yet :rotfl:

Yesterday was a pretty good day. Basically stay with the plan of getting my water in and moving this big old butt. Cody is still fighting me about walking so I pulled out my puppy books to see what I can do. :Pinkbounc

Today I am going to start the sad :sad2: process of finding a dress/pantsuit for the Labor Day weekend wedding. The invitation stated Black Tie Optional so sounds pretty fancy. I AM NOT A FANCY PERSON!! :rolleyes1 I hate getting dressed up!! So this will be stressful on a couple of levels - trying to find something that fits and that is fancy enough. We don't go to many places that require dressing up and that is fine with DH and I. Keep telling my daughters to get married on the beach :rotfl2: We can all stand there barefooted :rotfl: Wish me luck!! :wizard:

Lisa Lisa Lisa - you sound like one of my kids!! :teeth: Get goin on the homework young lady :rotfl2: Seriously hope you have a weight loss day!!

Jen - I am still confused :confused3 bear with this poor old city girl. I don't understand the marching band process at all. Did you start in the second half of your freshman year.........When you start school in the fall will you be a junior or senior? How is cheer camp going?

Tara- How did the rest of your day go? Were you able to get back on plan? OF COURSE YOU DID :cool1:

Ok group off to get some things done around here before the horrid shopping trip :rotfl2:

Have a Magical Disney Day!! :earsboy:
Linda

Linda! Hi...I can admit...it is VERY confusing. I started the first half of my freshman year...now I'm completing the second half and since there is no more other freshman work for me to do, I will be starting the first half of my sophomore year (essentially, still a freshman...you all won't respect me any less for being a freshman, right? You aren't that shallow, are you, people? Please say no!) Cheerleading camp is really beating my butt. We start out with stretches, then we worked on the intro (that all took 45 minutes). Our coach brought fruit and veggie trays-she's great!
*********************************************************
The intro is starts off with "Music makes me lose control" pause, repeats the line, then the actual dancing starts. It's a pretty cool dance, actually. We look like we know what we're doing! :rolleyes1 Music makes me lose control, music makes me lose control (ripple movements), WHAT'S UP? (hands by our ears and jump) hop hop (hop from side to side with arm movement), music makes me loose control x3 ("show your stuff", arm movements, head movements, "TIGERS!")

We also learned our chant which was not fun. "T-IG-ERS Tigers Tigers xx (x's=claps) oh yes!" She made us do it about 7 times over as we were not attacking the crowd right or getting loud enough.

The cheer is next and this has been pretty tricky; we aren't stiff/loud enough, we're singing, not jumping correctly (it's a toe touch, a kind of jump where you stick your legs out, you land on the BALL of your foot, not flat footed). "1,2,3,4 North Baltimore (pause) Tigers! Are back in 05! Here to compete (defeat) xx we'll thrive!"

We then worked on our dance. It'll look cool all pulled together, but we need lotsa work on it. That's what we're working on today, and we are also doing cheers and moves. (She gives us 3 cheers, we make up moves...easy peasy lemon squeezy!)

Lastly we did our calisthetics...gravity splits, ab-balancers, hip flexors, cheerleading situps, pushups...AAH!

Did I mention the camp coach is 7 months pregnant? She can't jump or do certain stretches, but she can do everything else. That is safe for her to do, right? I hope so...

Hey! Jen...you just gave me a great idea....I can do cartwheels (although my shoulders cringe each time I consider it) and I can even do the American splits all the way to the ground! (although my inner thighs are squealing all the way down)...so why can't I do a toe touch????? Quick...give me some pointers on how to train to do a toe touch. When I hit goal I want to be able to get a picture of me jumping up and doing a toe touch without the use of a trampoline. Do you just practice touching one toe at a time and then one day they magically go up together? :cheer2: I think I'll try just jumping and touching one toe out at a time and then see if I can muster enough strength to propel these hips off the ground for 2 seconds. :earboy2:

It would be great to go to Disney being in the 150's and doing a toe touch in front of the castle! :) Keep up the great work Jen...you're making us all feel young and energetic despite what our bodies are trying to tell us! :)

THANK YOU, TARA!!!!! This is what is happening to me, and I also hate it! It is almost like they think I need to stay a little heavy or something. I am in the 150s (haven't weighed in at WW this month yet, so I don't know exactly, but somewhere around 155 I think), and I am 5'8" tall, and I want to be in the range of 140 - 145. I think this is a very 'healthy' weight for me. NOT skinny (as everyone keeps wanting to tell me). I had to convince a friend last week that I really do need to still lose some more weight and it wouldn't be a problem. I guess they worry about people developing eating disorders or something, I really don't know why they do this. They don't have to worry about me, I still LOVE to eat (just went out to a Mexican restaurant last night after picking up our new car and we even got a second bowl of chips--they were SO good, and hey! It was a celebration, today I am back on track).

Anyway, I am just glad to hear I am not alone in this boat. I also find this VERY annoying! ESPECIALLY from people who weigh a lot less then I do at the moment. I mean PLEASE!!!!

OK, I am relax now. Breathing calming. Back to our usually discussion. :goodvibes

Debra

P.S. Can you believe I haven't drove our new car yet. I really hate driving a new car. BUT DH is at work and I am all alone, so I am going out to take a video back to Blockbusters. Hope I come back with the car in one piece :eek: . Talk with you guys later!

Hey everyone! I haven't been around the last week or so, but everyone sounds like they are doing great! I gained a little bit when we went to the in-laws, but I think it was just from lack of excercising. I am at only a 4.5 lb weight loss, but I am not taking my clippie off because I was there once, and I will be there again!! :banana:

agotta...I don't believe in removing clippies...hang on to them...you earned them once and you'll claim them again! :) Good job on eating while away...that's always a challenge with me!

Debra...I really do think people want a little weigh on ya...but at our height 140's is a great weight! In college I hovered around 130 but not due to wanting to lose weight I just walked about 8 miles a day across campus and couldn't eat enough to maintain a weight more than that....oh the days! :) And just to get us really off topic...I went smelling scents at the store the other day...the last time I wore perfume was in college and it was my roommate's "Magi Norie" or something like that...I smelled it now and went EUGH! It was way strong for me now. Well, I guess this weight loss thing has sparked a romantic side in me because I'm feeling more attractive and actually am considering buying perfume. I really really like Donna Karan's Cashmere Mist...it's very light and just smells like a spring morning after the rain (I should advertise)...but then a thought popped in my head...if I really wanted a scent to attract my husband (really don't need one..he's attracted when I'm stinky as a skunk..a male thing I guess) but I thought if I just could find a scent that smelled like "new car smell" then he'd never be able to leave my side! :) Not that I want that....but your mentioning your new car reminded me of how my husband's eyes shine when he's in a new car! :)

I'm wearing an outfit I got from Hanna Andersson's sale page....I got a shirt and a skirt for $20 and it's such a fun flirty thing...I almost feel like a circus clown...it's not my usual sweat pants and men's t-shirt. But it feels good to wear form-fitting clothes again!!! I'm not brave enough to wear it in public but I'm loving wearing it around the house...it has a twistie tie thingie in the chest area that really accentuates the bosom area...and it's truly FORM fitting...luckily the skirt is an A-line that flairs out to the moon...hence the circus tent feeling....but it is fun...I'll wear it for my 80 pound clippie!! :) Gotta get moving!!!

Sorry for all the tangential thinking....just one of those days! :) We had a big breakfast this morning, pancakes, eggs, bacon so I'm slimfasting lunch and dinner....hoping to knock off some of the chocolate I had this last weekend! :)

Tara

Good Afternoon Everyone,

Well I'm back from my walk, new route so I don't know how far it is, I gotta check later. I got up at 4:30am yesterday, but today, there was just no way my behind was moving. :rotfl: I should have just gotten out of bed however, because now it was 90 degree's as opposed to 70. Just call me lazy.

So the Dis meet.. I was very nice. Fred(the organizer) had everyone arrive by 11am. When we registered we got a DisneyLand lanyard and a name badge on it.(these were provided by a travel agent who was there). We also got a FREE copy of "The Luxury Guide to Walt Disney World)I believe these were donated by the author. After the registration we went into another room where all dinner tables were set. They had set up tables on the perimiter of the room where Deb Wills(Allearsnet), Lou Mongello Walt Disney World Trivia Book), and John Ric(New Jersey Pin Traders) were all set up. We all went around and were able to register for give aways and buy Lou's book. My daughter Ellissa spent alot of time over at the pin trading table that John Ric had set up. Anyway, all the speakers talked and than took questions. Lou Mongello also did a trivia contest.

For the children they had a small TV set up and were showing Disney movies. There were children there. Young children, who at times were not very well behaved. I gotta say it was 6 hours long, in 1 room and I can see where their attention span was not their at all times. It was not geared toward young kids. I can't judge other parents as I have 6 of my own, but I do know that I would have pulled them out of there and let me run around outside of the main room. Just Me.

I didn't meet to many people, but that's my fault. I have not been on the Disboards long enough to know anyone, so I couldn't tell you who was who. I did get to have a short chat with Deb Will's. She is a very nice women. I would like to be able to go to mousefest 06, would never be able to do 05. I would need my DH to take off of work for a week however. In our house when he doesn't work we don't get paid. Also I would really have to convince him that me going on a cruise and than to Disney was more important than his desire to go hunting. So I guess ladies this is a call out to everyone, to come up with their best reasonings of how I can justify me going to Disney.

So I jump on the scale on Friday. Boy I hope it goes down again.

Tigercheer, did you set a goal of 100 day's cheat free or did itjust happen so you stuck with it. And how strict were you with what you could eat without cheating

Have you guys been on the Disney Cruise yet? It is SOOOO wonderful! My kids like it even better than WDW (and so do DH and I), and we LOVE WDW!

We went on the Disney Cruise in 2000 just after I finished settling all the stuff from my mother's death. I had lost my father 3 years earlier and I felt I needed something special to help me relax from all the stress. WELL, our once in a lifetime trip turned into an annual event. We all fell in love with the cruise and we just can't stand the idea of not going again!

So we have been on one a year from 2000 on (six cruises so far, and number seven is booked for March 2006).

I can't say enough about it. Convince you husband to take you! You will both love it!

We have done two of each, the 3, 4 and 7 night cruises, and for us we have found the 4 night works the best. DH has to take 1 week off at a time, so we can fly out on Saturday, board the cruise on Sunday and spend 4 days onboard. We get off the cruise on Thursday and go to WDW. We fly home on either Saturday or Sunday. It works well for us, and we can't think of a better vacation.

OK, OK......I am addicted. You can often find me over the the Dis Cruise Board.

So yes, you should talk your DH into taking you next year!

Glad you enjoyed the Dis Meet. We went to the Project X Dis Meet Illuminations Dessert Buffet last month at Epcot and had a great time, BUT we didn't really talk to many people at all either. We had a great time, and the buffet was wonderful. I think we are just too reserved, and don't mingle enough. Everyone seemed to have a great time.

On our two 7 night cruises and one of our 4 nights, we have met up with other Dis Cruisers and that is fun. We usually run into each other over the week we are on the cruise, and it is nice to see friendly faces. My kids have been able to make friends ahead of time. So the Dis Meets can be a lot of fun.

Glad you are back!

Debra

Dh and I went on our first cruise this past April and LOVED it!! We don't have another booked, but we are planning on it. My absolute favorite thing on the entire cruise (besides the $96 we won in BINGO) was the mushroom risotto at Tritons...mmmmm.... I am hoping Le Cellier's is close!

Afternoon All!!

Well back from round one of wedding clothes shopping and I survived :cool1: Always motivates me to want to lose weight!! :Pinkbounc Maybe this is what I need to do on a daily basis :rotfl: Will go broke but I will be thin :rotfl2:

Right now I have 2 dresses the are ok and one pair of dress chiffon pants with a top that I like but don't know if it is fancy enough. The wedding is black tie optional. Back pounding the pavement again tomorrow. :rolleyes1

I would rather hide in a t shirt and capris!!

Tara - Bet you look good in your flirty little outfit!! :goodvibes Pretty soon you will be wearing it out and about.!!

Debra - How is the new car? Did you go return your video? We love cruises but have never been on a Disney Cruise. Prices were always alot more than other cruise lines. What makes them different than other cruise lines?

Agotta - Did you take a Disney cruise also? Which one?

Schatz - Glad to hear about the Dismeet.....how far was it from your house?

The debit card has finally come for DD20 - have to get it activated and ship it off to Spain.

Walking tonight with friends.

Happy Tuesday!!

Have a Magical Disney Day!!

Linda

We did 2 nights at POFQ, 3 at SSR then 3 nights on the Wonder. WE LOVED IT!! I did get seasick the first two nights though, although that nice man at the bar may have contributed to the first night :confused3

Hello Losers!!!!

I see everyone is doing a great job. I wish I could keep up with all the posts.

The past couple of weeks have been tough for me. Those 140's just didn't want to come and stay. Gained .4 one week, lost .8 another and then gained 1 pound last week. I switched to the Core program and was really hoping it would work out for me. This week definitely did, I lost 3.4 pounds (147.8) and FINALLY claimed my 60 pound clippie :banana: :banana: I think I might be staying in the 140's, finally.

We leave on vacation on Sunday and will be gone for two weeks. I'm really hoping that the Core program will either keep me maintaining, or would LOVE to still lose. We'll see how it goes.

The car is great! I returned the video AND when to Walmart with no problem. I did drive slower than usually and probably gripped the wheel tighter than I normally do :hyper:, but I am sure I will relax the more I drive it.

As for the Disney Cruise. I have never been on another cruise. I have considered the RCCL, but so far the family doesn't want to try a new cruise.

I think what makes it better for us is that we love Disney! The Disney themed shows are so wonderful! The food on the ship is great (and we are vegetarians, and they offer so many choices for us....that is VERY rare for us).

The kids love the Lab where they do activities with the kids. I am not sure how they will feel about it once they are teens, but so far they like the Lab.

I am also concerned about the price. I am not sure we will be able to do it in 2007. The 2006 price is already more than we are comfortable with, and in 2007 the girls will be considered "adults" for the pricing so it will be higher no matter what (but I am sure Disney will raise prices).

There have been some very good reviews on the Dis Board from people who have gone on the RCCL, and I wouldn't mind trying it. Maybe one day the rest of the family will be ready to give it a try too.

That is so SUPER! I can't wait to see those 140s also! I am 'hoping' that in August I can join you in the the 150- Club! :flower:

Congrats on the new clippie! It looks great!

Tigercheer, did you set a goal of 100 day's cheat free or did itjust happen so you stuck with it. And how strict were you with what you could eat without cheating

I set a goal of 100 days cheat free. I had a weakness for juice/kool-aid/punch, McDonald's Double Quarter Pounders with extra cheese and extra ketchup/mustard/mayo, large fries, potato chips/cheese puffies, and candies...I don't like chocolate, but I can really go to town on Twizzlers, Starburst, Creme Savers and those sugary fruit slices!

So I started there...I had to have some allowances, this is real life. I'd have a hamburger at Wendy's and fries, but nowhere else because Wendy's is a real treat. (The closest to a big city we live: 15 minutes...Wendy's: an extra 10 plus the original 15! And I can't drive yet...mom and dad don't want to go to Findlay just for a burger and fry combo...) Soda is rare too, I don't drink that unless I have to.

Anything else? I'm willing to share!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Tara-That outfit sounds gorgeous! What color(s)? I can imagine either a red/pink/orange or a variety of blues and purples. And the last time I did a cartwheel was for tryouts...and then I fell on my bum in front of the judges!
A toe touch (I can't touch my toes yet, but I'm working on it, can't get my legs up high yet)
Tips: Make sure to wind up...whether it be fists with your thumbs facing toward you (tucked) on either side of your "girls" (for lack of better saying) or how we do: throw your arms in to the air (a High V if you want to be technical)...now swing them in a circle around so that you are almost at the High V again. When your arms start to go up, you jump. There are many online tutorials that can better explain this, but that's the best I got.
Don't lean forward. Point your toes. Land on the balls of your feet and not flat footed. And for the cheerleaders: do not bend your wrists. A tip for that: put your arms out so you look like a T. If you can't do this first try, put your arms at your sides then bring them up fast so they are level with your shoulders, then only move your arms (everything else is fine) up to a High V. Be stiff-sloppy motions can lead to injury and punishment of gravity splits for 5 minutes. And also do not, I repeat, DO NOT make your pregnant camp coach (the coach who runs the camp) mad. Try hip flexors: wind up and kick your leg out so that you're not jumping...just improving your flexibility.
Tara-let me know if it works...I can barely get my toes up in the air.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Tera-Congrats on the new clippie!

TERA TERA TERA!!!! WOWZERS!!!!

147.4!!! That is a DREAMY number!!! :cloud9: You'll have to share the CORE thingie...never heard of that one... :jumping1: :jumping1: :jumping1: But way to go on jumping into a whole new number!!!! Now that you're there...you've got to send us pictures of your vacation and the new you!!!! :) You plugged in and did it!!! What an inspiration to us all!!! :)

Everyone...let's give her a rousing huzzah!!! And follow her down!!! :)

Tara

Thanks Everyone!! Seems like I've been shooting for this forever.

Tara - The Core program is Weight Watchers. They have two programs, Flex & Core. Flex is the one I've been doing for 10 months, counting points. Core is where you have a list of foods you can eat all you want until your satisfied and then you have 35 points for items that are not on the list. I love it becaue I can eat all the fruit I want, which with Flex, would have cost me points. Now, I'm shooting for those 130's ;)

Debra - You'll be in the 150's in no time.

I saw you mentioned the Disney Cruise. We went on our first DC this past May and had a blast. My girls are 10 and 12, so they were able to go in and out of the clubs. We want to do another one in 2007, so we'll have to see when the dates get released.
