I won't have access to a scale for another week. It looks like I will be going to Maine to see DD2 for the weekend. The business I am consulting for would put me up in the holtel for the weekend but I think it would be too depressing. With all the work I have to do, it might help.

Haven't been good with eating or exercise this week. Had clients from upstate here to go to dinner with. It won;t have been so bad if I had stopped at just dinner, I also had dessert 2 nights also.:guilty: :guilty: Did you know that stressed spelled backwards is desserts?) :rotfl2::rotfl2:

I did manage to spend 30 min tonight doning stretch cord resistance exercises and 50 situps. It wasn't much but better than nothing. DD1 plans on taking me up to the back bay in Portland this weekend to walk (she wants to try out her Garmin). I also need to put some quality time in working and she needs to study for a test on Monday.

Tara - I did a little better with water today. I have a bottle of water sitting in front of me now.:drinking::drinking::drinking:I do much better at home where I have at least two cold bottles in the refrig. I put them in the freezer as I empty them so I always have a supply of cold water.

Linda - don't beat youself up too much ablout the weight gain. I usually weigh myself first thing in the morning in just my bra & undies. Out of couriousity, I sometimes weigh again after getting dressed. the scale usually says around 3 - 4 lbs heavier. You wouldn't think clothes would weigh so much. Pick out on outfit and wear it every week for weigh ins so you won't have the fluctuations from different clothes. If I beat myself up over my bad habits, I would say to heck with losing weight and probably quit exercising also.

I need to concentrate more on the exercising as I was foolish enough to sign up for the 1/2 next Jan at Disney. Want to be able to finish. Don't want to let both daughters get medals and not me.

Stressed = Desserts!! OH MY!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: That explains why I love desserts so much I must think they balance out my stress! :)

Kathy! Can you believe I went to the store and FORGOT the bottled water??? I think I was too rattled over eating those fries to think straight! I have had about 4 glasses today...but that's about 36 ounces..ugh!! i'm about to do some cardio pilates so I'll get one more glass in for a total of 46 ounces today....uh..that kind of stinks doesn't it? No worries..you'll walk right on past those little fit daughters of yours and knock their shoes off! :) You'll have more time to get those legs used to walking the muscles into shape once tax season slows for you!

Iris...you'll have to read the trip reports board...there was a gal on there who celebrated her birthday Pirate style...it was a hoot to see all the fun she had..great pics..makes me want to be a pirate too!!! ARRGH...I'm gonna blast me some pounds, mate!! pirate:

Off to exercise...put it off...had too many phone calls...dh and I decided to bite the bullet and close on the house in Huntsville so he won't have to stay at the Days Inn anymore...we feel good this house will sell soon and we want to be together as a family more than anything..even the debt we may build..and we've always been provided for so on a step of faith we'll be in Huntsville in 2 weeks!!! :) So I'll have weeks to move this household over...need to build some arm muscles for all those boxes!! :)

Onwards & Downwards gang!!!

But isn't it amazing how you get tested like that...I could have passed on my kids fries but an XXL fry that's staring me in the face!!! UGH!! :)

Tara

It is hard to ignore things like this. I think you did great! I love french fries! And I did have some last week when my Girl Scout troop went out to eat together at Burger King. BUT I was proud that I only ordered a small, and I didn't go back later in the week and get more (I tend to get 'hooked' on a food and will eat it over and over again and again until I am sick of it--luckily, right now I am hooked on carrots and low fat pringles--it will change in a week or so).

So pat yourself on the back! You did great!

DJ

P.S. Had a GREAT day today, my DD who has a learning disability called Auditory Processing Disorder (makes it hard for her to grasp verbal information) actually made it on the Honor Roll this grading period. Her first time! I NEVER EVER thought that would happen. She worked SO hard. I figure if she could overcome something like this and accomplish those grades at age 11, I ought to be able to overcome my over eating and accomplish my weight lose goal! She is my inspiration today!
:cheer2:

Good Morning Losers!! :sunny:

Thanks for the good wishes!! :wizard: After sleeping on it decided that I just need to recommit myself AGAIN and keep plowing through this. So my new goal is to LOSE some NEW weight not just keep recycling the same 5 pounds!!! :goodvibes :goodvibes

Suppose to have a beautiful weekend here in Chicago. Hoping to get out and take advantage of it.

DJ - Congrats to your DD!! She should be very proud of herself!! :flower:

Tara - So excited for you and the family. Moving will be a great way to tone those arms!!

Thanks again for your good wishes. Have a Happy Friday and a Moving Weekend!! AND KEEP LOSING!!! :cheer2:

Couldn't do this without you :grouphug:

Have a Magical Disney Day!!

Linda

Good morning everyone! Yesterday was so busy and I definitely didn't overeat, but did have a cookie at the ice cream social (no ice cream) for supper, then ate a sm bowl of cereal when I came home LATE. Before that the rest of the day was OP. It doesn't seemed to have hurt much, but I guess that is because I didn't eat much either. I can feel some extra water weight from being slightly off, so hopefully tomorrow the scales will be kind. Today is a huge cleaning day as my house threw up on itself yesterday in the midst of things and my sister is coming up late afternoon. At least it is good exercise right? :cheer2:

Teresa - :wizard: Wishing for the 1 lb, wishing for the 1 lb. :wizard: (Hope that helps)

Westjones - I am not on a program outside of my home, so I weigh here. The scale is a digital (about $40) that reads in .5 lb increments. I try to wear the same thing everytime I weigh sot that I can keep some sort of consistency. Personally, I don't need anyone checking on me because I am very determined this time and this board offers more support than I ever had before. But each person is different. Would like the time to get back to Curves, but with gas so high, it won't happen for awhile (have to drive out of town to get there).

Michelle - Congrats on the scale! This is a great group isn't it? Stay with us as you work down to 150! :cool1:

Tara - Congrats on sticking out the 100 days. Isn't it funny that you can train your body to not like certain foods? I am glad you decided to move after all. Like I said before we did the same 5 1/2 years ago. It was a heavy financial load at first, but we did get the house sold eventually (a little lower than I had hoped, but not bad) and it was worth it in the end. Have fun moving. :cheer2:

Kathy - At least today is tax day. Should releive a little stress even though you are still finishing up. Have fun with your DD! :cool1:

Linda - It is good to see that you are determined to get those NEW lbs off. Wishing you luck. :wizard:

Everyone have a great day! ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

170's 170's 170's

Can you tell I'm a bit excited about seeing 179 on the scale??? I didn't even do a hesitant step on the scale I flat footed it the first time (but, hey guys, I wear my birthday suit..you think after all this time losing I'll let underwear get in the way of a .5 loss?) and I saw 179.0 2x!!! I didn't even go for the third..I was just too excited to contain myself!!! :) And of course had to come here and thank all you guys for making me believe this could happen!!! :) I now, only have 19.5 pounds to see 159.5!! I can't believe that!

DJ!! How PROUD you must be of your dd!!! What a wonderful way to be inspired!! :cheer2: And I'm soo proud of you for ordering a small fry...I remember when I used to order a small fry I had this pit in my stomach that I was depriving myself while my dh had that biggie size...I really got resentful about not having a biggie fry!!! Now I PROUDLY order the salad or when I do order those fries that small size will make me feel tall inside not small. It's taken me 10 years to adopt this attitude and it's about time!!! :)

Linda!! You should be proud you relost those 5 pounds!! Now, let's venture into new territory!!! Atleast it was only 5 pounds...me dummy had to relose 20 pounds...ugh!! I'm just now down 3 pounds that are fresh and new! That's a lot of work to finally get 3 pounds off but once you do it..no looking back!!! Just keep on keeping on...each little success like those shrinking hips of yours need to be celebrated!! :cheer2: :cheer2: If your hips are anything like mine you'll realize how HUGE 1.25 inches is to be GONE!! :)

Lesli...if I eat after 7pm I refuse to weigh in the morning...my scales are all over the place...so don't be too concerned if it doesn't please you today...stick to a good plan today and it'll be back on track. I can't tell you how many times I've counted housecleaning as my aerobics for the day...on a bad day, I can be cleaning for 3 hours!! NON-STOP!!! And all that bending, mopping, dusing, folding...whew! It's a workout!! So put on some good songs and KNOW that the fat is screaming to be saved...but we won't give it a chance! :)

Tara

Wahoo! Here's a 170s banana dance coming your way Tara!

You're so inspirational! Can't wait to get there as well (I'm a pound away) :teeth:

My family and I are off to see the Mouse tomorrow - wish me luck in staying OP - and if any of you have any advice for staying the course (eating right and exercising) - please share... :wave2:

Aloha!

Iris

Oooohhhh..mouse envy mouse envy!! :bounce: My tips for a great trip with the mouse without gaining weight..

1. ORDER WHATEVER you want! (just don't eat everything on the plate! ;) )

2. Cut out all sugary drinks...stick to water, water, water...

3. Take a GREAT pair of walking shoes and have spurts of races to see who can make it to Splash Mountain the fastest from the entrance. NO running...just really awkward fast walking.

4. Split desserts...come on it's Disney..you HAVE to eat dessert...just make sure you have a pal to split it with!

And when you come back don't weigh for 2 weeks and I guarantee you will not have gained a pound! :)

Just a quick thought....I know we talk on here about our cheats and such and someone mentioned a formula to me that seemed to click with me....the 10% rule...if you're trying to lose weight you should consume between 1200 and 1500 calories a day..once you figure out what your average should be then allow yourself 10% of those calories for NOTHING JUNK...meaning if 1200 works for you then give yourself 120 calories worth of junk food...now I'm not advocating cheating but on those days where you are really craving those oreo's or cheetos...allow yourself one small serving bag...or 3 cookies...as long as you keep the cheat under that 10% rule then it shouldn't effect your weight loss. I thought it sounded good, and I'm a math type of person...give me equations anytime to understand food and I'll figure it out! :)

Hope this helps someone!

I agree, especially for those of us who have a LONG road ahead. I have been at this since January (and many of your have been doing it longer). I don't think you can stay with it unless you allow yourself a chance to enjoy some junk food once in a while (and I have a LONG road ahead until I get all of this weight off).

DJ

I lost 1.5 lbs this week!
I think for now I have things together, eating has been going well, and I have increased the intensity and length of my workouts.

I have been doing 30 mins of intervals on the eliptical machine everyother day. Then on the other days I did 20 min of intervals on the eliptical machine and 15 min. on the weight machine.

Next week I am going to try and add Pilates, I got a great deal on Pilates for Beginners so I think I will give it a try.

Tara - Great Job on getting into the 170's.

Lets go losers! :cheer2:

Good morning everyone!

Things here are still the same. Family is down and we ate pizza late last night. Just one of those things. All in all, I did well though. Weight is still the same, but I can tell that I am retaining some water. Hopefully, if I am good today, the water will go away soon and the scale will move! Great news though, I fit into a solid size 20 (not a stretch size) today!

Tara - WTG on the reaching the 170's. Now make your solemn vow to never weigh 180 again.

Iris - Have fun seeing the Mouse. We want a trip report when you come back! :cool1:

Regina - Congrats on the 1.58 lbs. Yeah!

Megan - That 4 lbs is a great loss! I knew you could do it. Keep up the good work.! :cheer2:

Everyone have a great weekend and drink more water! ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

Morning All!! :sunny:

The sun is shining brightly and hoping to get outside this morning for a walk.

Nothing new and exciting here. Have gotten over my frustration and am determined to get back on track. :goodvibes

Lesli54 - Keep drinking water and it will all flush out soon.

Tara - WOOHOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :cool1: You Rock!! :cool1:

Iris - Say Hi to my favorite mouse........I miss him :earsboy:

Regina and Megan -   need I say more ;)

Kathy - Hope you have GREAT weather for your time with your daughter. I always love visiting mine..........have fun!!

DJ - We will journey the looooooooooooong road together. May not have as much as others to lose.........but it is coming off so slowly I will be right there with you.

Losers - enjoy your weekend!!

Have a magical Disney Day!! :earsboy:

Spent alot of time shopping at LLBean. Bought a new road bike. Anxious to try it out tomorrow morning before heading back to Long Island.

After shopping, we wnt to Portland and walked 4 miles around the Back Bay. It was a nice walk, not to warm and not too windy.

Let's continue to be LOSERS!:banana::banana::banana:

Where's the banana when you need him?
Oh, I got it

Today I played tennis for a solid hour and a half and drank tons of water! :cheer2: Gotta do my MLR and ab workout before I go to bed though!

Lets go losers!:thewave:

That's it!! I had decided to sleep in this morning before church...but it's 7:30 am and I have an hour to do my 4 mile walk seeing all the support and moving going on here at WISH...I'm doing it and I've got dh here Monday & Tuesday so I can even swim laps at the YMCA!!! You guys are helping me push so far into the 170's that I'll be in the 160's before I know it!!! :) THANKS!!!

REGINAAAAA!!! 1.5!!! :) WAHOO!!!! You're dropping weight like flies!!! Hopefully we'll all follow suit and keep up with you!!! :) GREAT JOB!!! :cheer2:

TWINKLES!!! WHAT??? 4 POUNDS did you say???    hubba hubba!!! Don't you just love those WHOOOOOooooosh weeks??? Your hard work is paying off and you'll be so fit and trim you won't know what to do with yourself! :) Way to go on the ab workouts!!

Lesli!! I DID it...I made a solemn vow to never see the 180's again...I actually peeked at the scales again and saw 177.5!!! I know it was probably just a water loss but hey it put me that much farther from 180!!! :) Then I blew it last night...I slimfasted breakfast, had a little popcorn at a movie for lunch then met friends for a cookout and had a cheeseburger, potato salad, baked beans, apple pie and ice cream....I haven't eaten that much food at one time in a long time...I only stuck to one serving but I was STUFFED! I know what you mean about pizza...it really does make me retain an extra pound of water..I've found there are certain foods I will not EAT the day before my official weigh in....pizza, chili, hot wings, fried foods...if I stick to a salad with lots of fresh veggies and vinegarrete dressing and a high protein breakfast I do pretty well....so don't weight the day after those foods I mentioned were bad...it's not a real reflection of your true weight. WAHOO on fitting great into the 20's!! What size are you??? I think I have a pair of Talbot's blue jeans that I could send you...they're really more like pants....I think they're a 18W...which is really a true 20 I guess...I'd love to send them to you!! :)

Chrismiss!! Your notes of cheer...cheer me up!!! :cheer2: :cheer2:

Kathy!!! 4 miles!!! Don't you feel GREAT!!! I told you once that April 15 passed and the weather picked up for you, nothing could hold you back from moving and losing!! :)

Hang in there gang!! Two more weeks of April..let's push those pounds out so we can start May with a BANG!!! We've got it lucky...not Easter, no Valentine's, no major eating holidays to contend with until the end of May...let's push that water and move our major muscle groups and obliterate some fat cells!! This is a war...each month is a battle that will be won or lost...we're here to make it a losing battle for those pesky little fat cells! :)

Tara

Megan - Great Job with all of the exercise, and WOW on the 4 lbs. :cheer2:
Keep up the hard work, and you will really start to notice the difference.

The weather is wonderful here in Michigan, so I have spend the last 2 days outside with my family. We have our 1st 2 camping trips of the season planned. The last weekend in April we are going to the Cleveland Zoo, so that on the way there we can stop and get our season passes for Cedar Point then we will stay the night in Cleveland. Then the following weekend we are going to the opening weekend at Cedar Point. So hopefully, I can stay on plan with all of the traveling.

Regina

Since I bought a new bike yesterday, went for a 62 min 12.5 mile bike ride along the Maine coastline with DD1 before driving back to Long Island today. The weather was a little cool for me but I managed to sunburn my neck. I only have to be outdoors in the sun for a short time to get sunburned.

Because I ride slower than DD1 and didn't have much time before hitting the road, she found it necessary to ride for another 30 miles in 2 hrs 18 min. I don't currently have that stamina.

Will have to keep up with the exercise during this week. I have my bike here but don't know where to ride it. I also don't have a helment with me as I used DD1'1 this morning.

During the weekend, we managed to eat reasonably most of the time.
Friday supper - split philly steak wrap, order of deep fried jalapenos and 1/2 of brownie with coconut with DD1
Saturday breakfast - 1/2 breakfast burrito and water
Lunch - diet orange soda, ColdStone ice cream - ate this after walking the 4 miles.
Supper - 1/2 order of assorted Thai appetizers, diet soda
Sunday breakfast - 1/2 blonde brownie
Lunch - Fresh city spicy chicken wrap, couldn't finish
Supper - baked ziti, also didn't finish
Not very good with the water this weekend but will try to do better during the week
