Tara, I knew you could do it! By your weigh-in this week you and I will be racing to 150 neck and neck!!!  :Pinkbounc

Thanks for the suggestions. Laurin and I met when she and her hubby came for an interview for me to nanny for them. She is hilarious and very outgoing!! You never know how people you meet will impact your life. We consider them part of the family. She has adopted my daughter as her little sister (she is an only child) so I guess that means I have a 27 year old as well as 21 yo ds and 17 yo dd! I am so proud of her, she is staying here without any family around because if she goes home she knows people will baby her. I am thinking dinner would be a good idea as well.

Good luck with all that birthday partying you will be doing today!!

Hi Club 150!

Today is day 4 of South Beach Diet and I feel better than I have the past couple of days. I had a small chilli from Wendy's today assuming that it was low on carbs. Wrong! When I went to their website, it said 23 carbs in a small chilli! What is up with that I ask you? :confused3 Is it the beans that up the carbs or do they put sugar in the sauce? I really thought I was eating something healthy and low carb here. :(

I managed two workouts today for a total of 104 minutes today! :Pinkbounc This morning I did:
* Kathy Smith Lift Weights to Lose Weight (Timesaver Series)
* Stretching on the Kathy Smith Cardio (Timesaver Series)
* Day 1 of 5 Day Abs: The FIRM

This evening I did:
* Kathy Smith Timesaver Cardio+ Stretch

I feel pretty good. A little tired, but I guess that is to be expected. Have a great evening everyone! You CAN do it! :cheer2:

You guys are doing great,
I just had to up and shout.
I'm watching you all,
hope you won't kick me out.
I've not changed a bit, not up nor down,
But I'll dance to your parties all over the town.
:cheer2: :cheer2:      :cheer2: :cheer2:

Weigh to GO!!!

You should be very proud! Keep up the good work!

Spent 45 min stretching and strength training at PT. Spent 45 min on arctrainer after PT. :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: Maintained an average heart rate of 137 over 2.65 miles. Felt good after a stressful day of being out of the office all day again. to think some days I would rather be anywhere but the office :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Managed to get more water down today by carrying water bottle to both clients :drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1

Onward and downward

We got another 6" of snow today with another 8" forcasted for tonight. Is spring ever going to arrive :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Tara - Great job on the WI! I knew that when I got to that 189 mark that I could lick this diet. You are in the groove now! Good suggestion about the cake leftovers. My DD 7 b-day is on the 13th and I'm going to do the same thing. :goodvibes

Melissa - Your story has so inspired me to get out of my 170's funk. I hope your friend has a good first day back at work. I will be thinking of her and send her lots of :wizard: :wizard: .

TOM has finally kicked in for me today! I already don't feel so bloated and crabby. I'm setting my March goal for 7 pds. I have too many events this month that could pull me off track so I thought I would bring my goal down a little.

Good luck to everybody this month. I will be sweating right there beside you all! :cheer2: :cheer2:
Tracy

I think beans are fairly high in carbs... I know they are things you can add in later! I also thinkg there are a lot worse carbs you can eat! At least beasn aren't white and fluffy!!!

On my front I was down 5.5 pounds in 2 weeks on the Doctors scale!!! YAY!!!! :cool1: (It is still higher than my scale says though....)

ONWARD and DOWNWARD!!! :cheer2:

Mornin Team!! :sunny:

We are going to be experiencing a high of 33 degrees!! :cold:
brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Met with the trainer last night. Working on building my cardio endurance so today off to the fitness center to work on the elliptical (get the oxygen tank ready :rotfl: ) then some swimming. She took my measurements (scary), weight (even scarier), blood pressure, and heart rate. Going to touch base with her in 3 weeks and see how I am doing.

Started Pilates and yech!! :sad2: It's hard!! I know it is suppose to be and I will do it. Have a Pilates tape at home - it was too easy to hit the stop button ;) so I joined a class and yes I will be going. BUT YECH!! :flower:

Sarahsmom - Like that doctor scale - YOU GO GIRL

Tracy - I am right there with you........need to see 160's on a regular basis.

Kathy - You ARE my inspiration to keep moving!! WOO HOO :Pinkbounc Keep drinking you water!! and keep shoveling - you might get out from under by May:)

Debbie - the Team poet!! You keep hangin with us and pretty soon you will see changes :cheer2:

toystoryduo - The beans are what killed you. They are not allowed (at first) on SB. So take it as a learning experience and keep moving toward your goal!!

Tara - How did the DD birthday go?

Tiggerkeeper - how did the teacher's day go? Been thinking of her.

Ok TEAM :cheer2: Focus on Today!! We all know the drill!! :grouphug:

Survived PE at the junior high but have the battle scars to prove it:):) Today much easier - back to the junior high but am a resource teacher

Have a magical Disney Day!! :earsboy:

Linda

Melissa...How did Laurin's day go?? I hope she found some good moments. What a blessing to have you there and your children to keep her connected.

Toystory!!! You are doing AMAZINGLY!!! Don't fret the chili...I made that same mistake eating that before a weigh in....chili is not your friend! :) Maybe it's the sodium, maybe it's the carbs (tomato paste or such is probably carb loaded, too....some spaghetti sauces have 20+ carbs!!! they must put some sugar or maybe it's the corn meso flour to thicken it?) I would do a Caesar salad at Wendy's and add chicken nuggets to it...the breading on the chicken nuggets never seemed to kill my weigh ins. But I don't do them often..only on the run. And you're doing GREAT with the workouts...that first week of low carb was such a SHOCK to my system that I had NOOO energy to exercise...so for you to do 104 minutes is AWESOME!!! Can't wait to see your weigh in! Drink your water...you'll be soo happy!

Debbie! The scale may not have changed for you but I bet your body is changing!! Getting stronger and loving the choices you're making...it'll move SOON!!!! Thanks for giving such good cheer!

NYcpa...can I send you some daffodils??? :flower: That sun will come and blow all that snow away...hopefully this is the last blast! But look at you! You're not letting snow slow you down!!! GREAT WORKOUTS!!! ANd KUDOS on the water!!! I think we should all have a 24 pack of water bottles within a 30 second reach wherever we are! :) Keep up the great work!!

Tracy...I handled the cake okay...I actually did cut myself one piece..something about remembering the day my dd was born and the 38 hours of labor preceding it that just made me think I deserved a piece! :) But I did stick to just 3 bites!!! Two of cake and 1 of icing...and with each piece I literally heard y'alls voices telling me to rub that cake on my hips...after the third bite the potential damage outweighed to good taste and I STOPPED!!! All the cake is out of the house now...whew!! Drink that water and was TOM away!!! :)

Jen!!!! 5.5 pounds in 2 weeks!!!!!     :) I don't care whose scales that's HUGE!!!! You are busting it! :) I bet your doctor was thrilled! :) YAHOO!! You are such an inspiration to me and I can't wait to see you get to the 150's!!!!

Linda...AWESOME report from you on all those workout machines!!! I just started a Pilates DVD 3 weeks ago....I had to laugh at the lack of muscle needed to perform some of those moves....oh my goodness, the "teaser" nearly sends my body into a wreck! But after 3 weeks I can do all the moves except one...I may not do all 10 reps but I can atleast now do one! :) So use that pilates as a guide to show you how strong you are growing!!! Keep up the GREAT losing mission!

Well, folks, even with 3 bites of cake and steak sauce at dinner I managed to maintain my 188.0 weigh in!!!! So that's 3.5 pounds gone last week!!!! :) WAHOO!!! I need 4 pounds off to meet my St. Paddy Day's goal so I've got to kick it up...TOM is approaching...and he won't MESS WITH MY MINI-GOALS!!!! :) You guys are great and literally I could hear you all cheer me on as I put down that cake only 1/4 eaten! :)

Onwards & Downwards!!!
Tara

:goodvibes Hey gang! Looking good this week! Thanks for all the positive thoughts for Laurin she went in yesterday to work on her paperwork and they have postponed her first day to next week. A good sign though...she was hopping mad! I think she is ready to get in a classroom even just to substitute.

You all are so inspiring!

Tara way to go on the moderation. That is so key to losing and keeping weight off.

sarahsmom - 5.5 pounds gone for good! WTG!! :Pinkbounc

Linda - all those scary numbers will become friendly soon! Keep up the workouts! :cool1:

Tracy - 7 pounds is a good goal in a month! We are pulling for you! :bounce:

Debbie - too funny our own poet! Don't give up you are due a big whoosh! :sunny:

NYcpa - WTG on the water ya gotta squeeze it in whenever you can!

It's a new month so let's get geared up and get off the pounds! Yeah, I am kicking my butt to amp it up too! Have a great day!

Hi all -

OK... I know I'm being silly... but I just have to do a banana dance

...to say that I've joined you all who've made it (and zoomed through) the 180s. My scale read 189.5 this a.m. - and I likely woke the neighbors with all of the jumping for joy going on in my bathroom.

I've got to give props and a big group hug to you all - your posts are so inspirational. Didn't think I'd get below 200 ever again (literally... thought my days of weight loss were over) - when I found you all.

Thanks for all of the fun, comraderie, and great support.

Can you see me SMILING from Honolulu? :teeth:

Have a great week all!

Aloha,

Iris

IRIS!!!!!

YAHOO!!!!! 180's!!!! :grouphug: Together we can kick the 190's to the moon! :teeth: It does feel great doesn't it!!! Now 180's are nice...but let's not get too comfortable...I bet the 170's feel EVEN better!!! ;)

Here's to a healthy journey into the 170's and CELEBRATE leaving the 190's!!!

Tara

Iris, WAY TO GO! Close the door on the 190's forever and let's run through the 180's!! We are all happy dancing with you! :thewave:

Keep up the good work!

Yeah Iris!!! Way to go! :cheer2: Keep up the good work!

Good evening Club 150!

I just finished my workout for the day: Super Cardio Sculpt + Day 2 of 5 Day Abs. Now, I haven't specifically worked my abs in a couple of weeks and yesterdays workout has me sore! Sore is good though! Means my muscles are waking up! :Pinkbounc

Food wise...
B: About 1/4 cup cottage cheese
S: None
L: Grilled chicken tenderloins, green beans, 1/4 cup of cottage cheese, 1 small bite of mac and cheese (2 noodles) and 3 onion rings (oops!)
D: Salad w/ cheese and egg
S: String Cheese or Nuts

I am kind of nervous about weigh-in Sunday. What if I have gone to all of this work and there is no loss? :confused3

Oh... quick question for the club... Is a digital scale more accurate than a traditional scale? I have a gift card to Bed, Bath, and Beyond (coupon too!) and I am trying to decide if I want to buy a digital scale. I have a traditional scale, but I'm not sure if it is "off" or not. DH put a 5 pound weight on it the other day and it registered 5 pounds. So, maybe it is okay? Any thoughts/ advice would be helpful!

Have a great evening! You CAN do it! :cheer2:

Iris & Tara - WTG on reaching the 180's :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: You'll soon see the 170's with all your hard work.

My workout for the day was rather short and consisted of 35 min of strength training and 10 min on arc trainer. Then on to pampering. 20 min in hot tub and 1 hr massage. The hot tub is to relax me before the massage. Thearpist says it makes her job easier if I relax. :confused3 :confused3 :confused3 She must think I am stressed out. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: She knows the routine. She used to be an accountant before becoming a massage therapist. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

When I first started reading this thread, I never expected to get all the support from everyone. It gives me something to shoot for. Reading your triumphs and setbacks lets me know I am not alone. I never exepcted to look forward to exercise.. I could always find a thousand reasons to avoid it and then feel guilty for not pushing myself harder. Thank you everyone.

Keep drinking your water :drinking1 :drinking1
Eat healthly and keep exercising. :moped: :moped:

ONward and DOWNward

Good morning all

Last night turned into a disaster - nutrition wise. :guilty: :guilty: :guilty:

I had been doing so well avoiding eating after finishing supper. Well, emotional eating kicked in and I ate 5 reeses peanut butter eggs (90 cal each) and a bowl of EDYS rocky road ice cream. Willpower went right out the window. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Today is another day. :cool1: :cool1: Time to get back on track. Move the candy out of reach and stay focused. Drink lots of water to flush the junk and exercise extra so the scale move for Monday WI.

Per normal - it's 19 :cold: :cold: :cold: The good thing is, only a dusting of snow last night. :cheer2: :cheer2: That is supposed to change later today and snow is in the forcast thru next Wednesday.

Onward and downward

Forward... Not backward Kathy....!!!! You can do it! :cool1:

Mornin All!! :sunny:

Well the sun peeked out for once yesterday but now have been told by my friendly morning radio team that alas the sun is gone again:( The good news is that we might hit 40 degrees today - the bad news is that there is more snow coming tonight:(:(

The good news is that tonight is opening night for the high school play "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat". DD17 is in it - she is one of the wives and is very excited. I was subbing at the junior high yesterday and they got a chance to see it. The kids did a great job!! :cool1: All their practicing, stress and hard work paid off!! Ok just had to toot their horn ::yes::

Worked out yesterday for 90 minutes at the fitness center. Survived 10 minutes on the elliptical - that is going to be the death of me :rotfl: 30 minutes of fat burning on the recumbunt bike, 15 minutes on the indoor track and the rest working with weights and balance ball. Felt really good last night.

Won't get there today - have to help my daughter get ready for opening night.

Kathy - Hang in there - send the chocolate to your girls at school:)

toystoryduo- Good Luck with weigh in but don't put too much stress on it. I have found the scale to be evil :p I have a digital scale and have no clue which is more accurate.

Iris - You Go Girl!! Keep moving onward and downward!! Glad you could join the team!! :grouphug:

Ok group weekend looms ahead. Never enough time to exercise but will try to get something done. Have a good one all - HANG TOUGH!! :cheer2:

Have a magical Disney Day!! :earsboy:
Linda

HELP!!!

I made a mistake and am now suffering for it!!:( I got on the evil scale!! This is driving me crazy!!

I am so sick of wavering between 170 and 168 that I want to SCREAM!!

The exercise is kicking in but I don't know what I am doing wrong........otherwise.

SUGGESTIONS PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEASE!!!

Now I am thinking ok I am going to give myself until April 1 and if I can't get this weight loss going on my own I need serious help. Maybe going to weight watchers. I DON"T KNOW anymore :confused3 :confused3

Sisters Of Losing - I turn to you and am crying out for HELP!!

I am soooooooooooooo sad :sad2:

Have a magical Disney Day - I don't think I will :sad2:

Linda

Linda - You're not doing anything wrong, you are gaining muscle with all of the exercise you are doing. Muscle weighs more than fat.

How are your clothes fitting?? I almost think those evil scales should be banned. I have one that is really evil, it tells you how much body fat you have :scared1: I have only been on that one twice in almost 2 years.

You are doing great keep up the good work!!!

Christie

Toystory!!! GREAT on your eating...just remember NOODLES are EVIL!! :) I ate bloomin onion during phase one (I picked off all the crust) and it didn't hurt me. Well, I liked dial scales better...my dial scales weighed me 5 pounds less than my digital...but I do like digital because it measures .5 pounds and some weeks that's all I have. So I've accepted the 5 pound gain and just moved on...I think you'd like being able to chart a .5 difference...CAN'T wait for your weigh in!!! :) Remember FLUSH FLUSH FLUSH that Fat away!!! :)

Kathy!!! Okay...the only thing I can say is atleast you chose a cheat that has more protein than just solid fat and sugar! :) And it's OVER!!! It's DONE!!! The GREAT news is that all this exercise and pt you've put yourself through is building stronger muscle that requires more energy...all those workouts will make you want to eat more...and you need to. You just need to have handy foods available to much on that will be better for you...mixed nuts, mozzarella sticks, fresh fruit/veggies, whole wheat crackers, YOU CAN CONQUER THIS!!! And before and after each snack I eat (between meals) I try and drink a glass of water before the snack and after....it really fills me up. THROW OUT ALL PEANUT BUTTER EGGS AND ICE CREAM...actually if you won't overdo it I think 1/2 cup of Breyer's all natural vanilla is okay for a treat...I just am not a fan of ice cream...but if you must have it make it small portions and not sugar filled. I keep a bag of semi-sweet chocolate chips available and only dip once per day...I've only had 2 dips (about 10-15 chips) in the past week....so listen to your cravings and only indulge when you absolutely need something so you won't choose RPB eggs! :) Stay strong, sweetie!!!! YOU CAN DO THIS!!! :grouphug:

Linda! That is AWESOME 90 minutes of moving that body to BURN that fat!!! You're doing GREAT!! And after a good workout like that your body needs a day of rest...just remember to try and get some good stretching in so it helps those muscles not freeze on ya. Best wishes to you dd's performance..what a treat to see all that hard work pay off and entertain! :)

SPRING!! COME IN AND SAVE THESE SNOW-BATTERED 150'ers!!! They need SUNSHINE!!! :sunny: :sunny:

Let's get losing team!!! We can do it together!!! :)

Tara
