Today I got on the scale. It was 168. A solid 168! As of today I have lost 40 pds since July 1, 2004. I have gone from a size 20/22 to wearing a new size 12 skirt.
I have to Thank all of you! Reading everyday of everybody working so hard and going through the same things I was has kept me going, even when losing slowed down to a snail pace.
Keep up all the GREAT work. You ALL are amazing to me!
Okay, okay...let's not bash Tracy's Scale!!!! WAHOOOOO!!!
Say GOODBYE to the 170's!!! You will never see that number again!!! Just 9 pounds away from the 150's!!! YOU CAN DO THIS!!!!
I'll gladly join the 150 club. Im currently 190 and my top weight was 198. So i have 40 lbs to go. My current goal is to weight between 168 - 170 on my upcomming WDW trip which is 2 1/2 months away.
Yesterday was a day with no exercise other than PT. I managed to drink 70 oz of water and eat reasonably healthy. NO ICE CREAM OR CANDY BARS. Breakfast got messed up with a 7:30 meeting so I had the urge to graze the rest of the morning. Limited myself to an orange, carrots and a 50 cal bag of Snyders mini pretzels. I was really happy when lunch time finally arrived.
Will check in later, off to Binghamton to work with a client.
Wow, guys! I haven't checked in here for awhile and WOW, I can't believe all the progress everyone has made. Congrats to those who are kissing some old pounds goodbye!
I've been sick but back at the gym now for about a week since then. Got on the scale this morning and I am SO CLOSE to Onederland-200.6, ! hopefully by next weekend I'll be there and will celebrate!
I have been doing the Discovery Health National Body Challenge (started 7 weeks ago) and next week is the end of that program. I'm hoping they bring people back into the stores to weigh-in and check body fat as I am really happy with my accomplishments-first time I can honestly say that in years.
I plan on checking in here more often, this thread is very motivational.
Anyway-thanks for reading my early morning ramblings & hope everyone has a great weekend!
Edited to say: I just realized I've lost a little more than 10% of my starting weight (223.6). That was my first mini-goal (in my head) that I wanted to accomplish. I'm starting to feel a lot better about myself now!
Tinkerbelle 325!!! COME ON IN!!! It's nice and hospitable in here! You're doing GREAT!!! You're sooo close to breaking into the 180's!!! Not far at all to the 150's Club...And the great thing about this club is we CELEBRATE each dip into a new 10's number...and you don't have to reach 150 to have succeeded...we ask that you get to 159 then we just have a celebration all the way to 150! Several are going to be passing through...and we LOVE that, too!!! So no matter your end goal weight...we're hear to cheer you on to the 150's...just trying to help you forget all those other numbers for good! You can do this!!
Kathy!! YEAH!! No ice cream or candy bars!!! WAHOOOOOO!!!! And 70 oz. of water!!! That's the way! And I do think PT is exercise...that's usually over an hour of moving muscles you probably wouldn't have worked on otherwise...so don't feel like you didn't work out! I'm sure your soreness today from PT says otherwise! Drive safely to Binghamton!
welovedis!!! YAHOOOO!!!! Your first 10% goal is HUGE!!! And you better come right on in and post that Onederland weigh in!!! That's a monumental day! I started that Discovery health thing too...I had actually forgotten about it! I've joined so many mini-challenges since...but it's nice to know that atleast one challenge is almost over! I started January 20th and have lost 14 pounds...then came the Valentine's Challenge, the Oprah Boot Challenge, the St. Paddy's Challenge...and I hope someone makes up a challenge for April...I'll need an April Fool's Challenge!!! But all these challenges help me stay committed...so bring em on!
Today is my 4 mile walker and tomorrow...it's supposed to be beeaaayoooutiful today...60's! So I may even try to bump it up to 5 miles...we'll see how it goes when I get out there. Praying for some showings today...we had zilch last week but atleast I blasted into the 180's last week...see, even if life throws you lemons you can give yourself some spark by treating your body right!!!
Welovedis - Rootin you on to Onderland!! Keep moving and you can do it.
Kathy - NO ICE CREAM AND NO CANDY BARS!! Woo Hoo!! We knew you could do it.
Tara - you always know what to say when I am beating myself up. Thanks!! Enjoy your walk today - Sounds invigorating!!
sarahsmom- Still Hate the Scale!! It is like this evil lure that makes me want to see a difference. I know I know I need to stay away. Thanks for the support.
Now that I have the exercise down I have to address the issue of food choices. I am coming to realize that I can't do this without be held accountable. Just not sure what to do............WW would be best and online is not working for me - too easy to not go to the website whereas I LOVE coming here. So I think I need to start going to meetings - there is actually a meeting on Thursday which I could go to right from the fitness center BUT I am busy or out of town the next 3 Thursdays.........Don't want to wait that long...........Any suggestions............They have another meeting on Tuesdays at a later time (not convenient)........can I go to that one for a couple of Tuesdays then switch.
Or do you guys have a better suggestion - I am sabotaging myself and really getting mad about it. HELP!!
Just a quick post before I do some Disney planning.... I worked out this morning for a grand total of 292 minutes! Tomorrow is weigh-in after 1 week on South Beach. I am excited and nervous all at the same time!
Have a great day! Keep up the good work! You CAN do it!
Tracy!! I'm EXCITED about your weigh in!!! I can't imagine how you managed all that exercise...that first week makes me physically weak! So you're not only building your muscles you're training your body to give up all those carb foods we all love!
Linda...I have not eaten a single french fry or white bread since I started this journey back on January 20th...I really think just looking at your eating habits and pinpointing the two biggest no-no's that you know are a burden to you is a great way to ease into a change of eating. The trick is you need to commit to a long period to give them up...I'm doing it for 100 days. For some it may be soda's or chips or candy bars...whatever it is...try picking 2 things to just say GOODBYE to! It's also helped each time I even consider something close to white bread like croutons or pizza crust...I just give it all up. Those are alot of calories that are not getting in the way of my losing. And it narrows down what else I can choose from...I'm learning to LOVE veggies! You can do this!!! Keep reading others journals, too, someone's plan may just be what will be great for you!
Gang! I did 5 (FIVE) miles today!!! It took me an hour and 35 minutes...guess I slowed down on that last mile. As I'm sitting here writing this I can feel all my fat cells in my legs screaming for mercy! Here's a pleasant pontification I had (trying to increase my vocabulary...being around my children all under age 9 limits my breadth!)
The wind was pretty strong...it was at my back when I started walking and I liked the gentle nudge...but when I turned that corner...it was blasting me and making my walk a struggle. I thought about life (here's the pontificating) and how it's been like a wind hitting me in the face this last year...but if I just stand there and don't continue the walk..the wind will wear me down..but if I keep walking I'll eventually hit a corner where it'll be at my back again. Same thing with weight loss....sometimes we just want to stand still and let the wind do its damage but I PROMISE you all if you just push through to the next corner...you'll have a strong WIND at your back...I look at all of you as being that STRONG WIND for me! Thanks guys!!!
Tara, I am so proud of you. That is a great time for a five miler in the wind. Your attitude is terrific, so keep the faith, hun, you can DO this!
I went to Curves this morning, making it a 3 visit week. Haven't been shopping, but had to do a quick mall visit yesterday for youngest DD's birthday present. Lucky me...I parked on the "wrong" side (I'd never been to the necessary store) and moved through that mall like there was no tomorrow. Had to walk home from the grocery store, 'cause the van didn't start...but I did. It felt good to do all that walking. I've joined the March exercise challenge, so here's hoping for a better month-physically- for me.
Good luck on the weekend, ladies. That's always hard for me, but at least I've started on the right foot.
Afternoon y'all! How's everybody this sunny, windy Saturday? Hubby and I just got back from the grocery store where it took us an hour to shop because we were reading labels! LOL! Can you tell we've been married a loooong time?!
Geez, Debbie you surely have all your walking in for this weekend!
Linda - go to WW when you can, better to go and get your charge up for the week than to chance a slide without accountability. I am really proud of your exercise commitment!! And as for food choices that is a big issue, you really have to look at what you can live with FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE not just for the amount of weight you want to drop. It has to be a life DECISION not a bandaid for a quick fix. Good luck! You can do it! You have already made some hard choices now bring it on home!! By the way, you are putting the "guilts" on me for not exercising regularly!
toystoryduo - good luck on your weigh-in!
Tara, FIVE miles! Heavens girl and in the wind You are absolutley correct with your pontificating! You have to push back to come out the other side a wiser/stronger/healthier/smaller/_______ (fill in the blank) person. I read a book once about being silver refined and how going through the fire makes the silver purer. Our journey will help us discover things we never knew about ourselves! Keep up the good work!
NYcpa congrats on making the healthy choices! You are doing a great job!
I think my plateau may be breaking...tomorrow is the official weigh-in but this morning (yeah, I admit to being scale obsessive) I weighed in with a 1 pound loss. At this point that 1 may have well as been 10!!!!
Have a great evening!! Keep the faith tomorrow will be a lighter day!!
My computer gave me the message 'You are now running on reserve battery power'. Wonder it is an omen
I spent 60 min on stationary bike and watched 1.5 episodes of '24'. In order to finish the second episode, I was forced to do 30 min on TM. it's good to watch something which keeps your interest and makes you want to exercise rather than wait to finish the episode.
It actually got above freezing today. The was out and made it even feel worm for 38 degrees. Snow is in the forcast for the next 5 days. Hopefully it wiil only hit north of here (and skip you Jen - you have had more than enough already).
Actually ate relatively healthy and resisted the temptation to eat between meals. Also managed to eat before (but not much before) 7 for the second night in a row.
I got my double workout in yesterday!!! I am still struggle with running as I am so congested so I am walking at 4.7 with the incline up at 7, 8 and 9... Major sweating going on!!!!
Today I WI at 167. Down 3 pds since last week. TOM really helped that is for sure. Yesterday was suppose to be my doublework out day but Spring has sprung in Okie land and DH and I were motivated to do some spring projects. First we cleaned all the windows in our house inside and out. What a difference that makes. Then we went to home depot and bought the materials for a new flower garden around a new tree we just had planted. With hauling all those supplies around and putting it all together it had to count as one workout. Right? It looks so good now we are talking about redoing two other areas in our front yard. I think DH doesn't know what to do with me now because I have so much more energy and I help him so much more when we do projects like this.
I did manage to cook a good healthy dinner and stayed away from the dreaded weekend snacks. Plus I did manage a 2 mile run while I watched trading spaces.
Today I have to make three lasagna's to freeze for my DD 7th birthday party next weekend. Tara, the dreaded birthday cake will be in my house next weekend. I will be using the leftover cake idea for sure!
I send everybody in the north some Okie land . You guys could really use it!
Have a great week everybody. I hope you are all great losers this week! Tracy
Tracy!!!!! 3 pounds is HUGE!!! Especially when you're getting soo much closer to 150's! I'm sooo proud of you and you certainly burned some fat cells planting those pretty flowers! That's my favorite hobby!!! I LOVE to plant! What kind of tree did you plant? I love trees, flowers, anything that GROWS! Except weeds of course.
You should be sooo proud of yourself...drink alot of water...all that outdoor activity will zap it up!
Great job!!! No scale movement for me...my official weigh in is Thursday..I'm hoping it moves atleast a pound by then...TOM is looming...should hit tomorrow if my calculations are correct. ICK!
AAAGH! In my excitement to post your 3 bananas for your 3 pounds gone I forgot to CHEER you into the 160's and say SO LONG 170's!!! They're long behind you now!!!
I have just a quick minute to post because we are having dinner at my MIL's house.
Weigh-in this morning was awesome! Last week, I weighed in at 202 and today I weighed in at 197!!! Lost 5 pounds and am in Onederland to boot!! We plan on one more week of Phase 1 and then we will slowly start adding good carbs back into our diet.
I do have to mention this... we went to the grocery store today and we bought DDs teddy grahams. I did have a handful of them before looking at the box and seeing 22 carbs per serving! I knew I was eating off program there, but I didn't think it was that far off!
Have a great evening everyone! Keep up the good work! You CAN do it!
