Hi all -

Training for this 10K finishes up this week - with the race on President's Day (Feb 21). We've been slowly working up the mileage (8 miles on Sunday) - actually the race more like a 13K (8.2 miles). I'm not moving fast... but I'm moving.

I'll keep you all posted on how it goes. - and yes! there are 10Ks all the time here - I think the next one is a Women's 10K for Straub Hospital in March. Dismeet at the starting line? :cool1:

Have a great week everyone!

Iris

Iris...any tips on good running/walking shoes??? I've been wearing New Balance because my feet are so wide but I'd love to hear from any of you guys about your faves...I've got to go get some new ones this weekend!!! Thanks!!!
Tara

I got 60 minutes of dancing in yesterday ! Today I hope to get more tredmill in plus shoveling!!! :cool1:

Good Morning Team!! :sunny:

Had my weigh in today and I am down another pound!! :cool1: :cool1:

Now before I do cart wheels down the hallway..... :rotfl: Not with these knees :rotfl2: I need to say that I am back to losing 4.5 pounds which is the same 5 pounds I have been playing with since last October.

SO THIS WEEK IS CRUCIAL......from a mental point of view need to get beyond the 5 pound mark :cheer2: :cheer2: Seems that just because it took 26 years to put it on that it is going to take 26 years to take it off!!

Third day in a row I am up at 5am. Today I did 30 minutes on the balance ball. Trying to vary my routine.

Really need some pixie dust for the coming week :wizard: Going back to Indiana to visit daughter again and watch a basketball game. Could be dangerous but I have to keep my eye on the target - 150's that is.

Good Luck With Our Mission :grouphug:

Off to work and dealing with hormonal 8th graders - shiver

Have a magical Disney Day :earboy2:

YEAH!!! Sarahsmom!!! You're doing GREAT with exercise!!! Do you have a dance video??? I love to dance...but it's been sooo long since I did any boogeying! :) Keep up the great work!!! Treadmill, too!!!

Chrismiss!! I am sooo PROUD Of you reaching that point of new return!!! You will blow by that 5 pound mark without even thinking of it as a block...it's a NEW start to a 150's GOAL!!! You've trained yourself well...you know how to handle a trip away...salads, water, veggies, protein...and lots of water....I know you'll be walking everywhere with your daughter...you won't even know how much!!! Let's say GOODBYE to that one pound!!! So long, baby!!!

Today was my weigh in and although the scale showed 192 once..it really settled on 193---3 out of 4 tries it was 193..so I'm sticking with it...that's 1.5 pounds down for me this week...and I'm taking it! TOM is nearing and I didn't think I'd lose at all...I did okay on exercise...last week did pilates/cardiopilates 4x and had 2 days of showings where I had to do massive cleanings...this week I want to get my 4 mile walks in...atleast 2x...and for Valentine's goal I need to lose one more pound....inching closer to the 180's for GOOD!!!!

Onwards & Downwards gang!!!!
Tara

Okay 150 girls (we are all girls aren't we) sounds like some good losing going on these days! :cheer2: And good exercising too! :dancer:

I unofficially weighed today and I was surprised to see a loss under 185 making it 20 pounds lost so far! But it isn't official until "certified" on Sunday!! :rotfl: I am going out tonight with a good friend to take her mind off reality but I won't be far from a salad and grilled chicken! DS came for a visit and complained that there was no junk food in the house! ;)

Keep up the good work and keep that focus!! :grouphug: :cheer2: :Pinkbounc

I added a ticker to my signature for when I get to 155 pounds. At that point I will no longer be overweight and I will decide how much more I want to lose.

I am hoping to show a big move at my first weigh-in tomorrow!!

Christy

Tiggerkeeper!!! WOW!!! 20 pounds!!! Can't you tell a difference in your body!!!! That's awesome!!! I know seeing that number will hold you strong until your weigh in this weekend!!! I love restaurants only for the fact that I don't have to get my own water and refill it! Have a great dinner and cheer your friend up!!!

SAP1227...Girl..you are soooo close...I put you down as 27 pounds from 150's...then we'll adjust it to get you to 155...we just want to SCREAM out loud when you break into that first 150 weigh in! :) I hope the whoosh fairy is kind to you tomorrow and can't wait to cheer on your loss!!! :)

:grouphug: 150 Club...together till we get there!

Tara

Wow!! Everyone is doing such a great job!

I love the motivation and encouragement I get when I come to the WISH board. About an hour ago I had to tell my boss that I am not stupid. He is very good at making people feel like idiots. The first thing I thought about as soon as I got back to my office was FOOD! Instead of eating I logged onto the WISH board and started reading. It has really calmed me down and I am so grateful to have all of you to help me through the tough times.

As I was reading the 150 Club thread I realized that I have not checked in in two weeks, so here I go. The first week I gained .5 lb. and last week I lost 1 lb. So I am now 51.5 lbs. away from the 150's. I don't post a lot but I am here a lot, I tend to be a little (lot) on the shy/timid sidebut I will try to make myself start posting more!

Christie

Christie!!! My favorite saying is "Don't let the turkeys get you down..." Ronald Reagan said it...unfortunately there are a few turkeys out there...so the next time your boss pulls that idiot mode just envision his words saying "Gobble gobble gobble" :) You were SMART to come here and vent!!! It so helps me!!

And I know it's hard to post when you think you've had a bad week or are just shy about getting out there...but I promise you...the more WISH'ing I do the more the weight comes off....it's when I get away from it that I lose control...somehow it's harder to cheat and easier to exercise when I'm encouraging everyone else to do it...practice what you preach I guess! :) And I have to preach alot for it to get through my own thick head!!!

SO WAHOO on the weight gone and KUDOS for coming in to say Hi!!! You're doing great and we'll be looking forward to your posts!!

Tara

Hey Tara, I can feel some changes jeans are loose and I am down a size. The BIG thing is breaking that 20 pound mark. Usually when I break 20 I stall and give up. That won't be the case this time! :flower:

Christie - Soar with the eagles and don't let those who wish to step on you get you down. Your boss will probably walk out of the bathroom sometime today with toilet paper stuck to his foot! :rotfl: Smart move venting on the WISH board instead of eating! :sunny: It is true you drop more weight when you are here than when you aren't!

Christy! Wow! I wish I was where you are now!! Way to go!  We are pulling for you!

Keep smiling and sweating! :goodvibes

Afternoon Club 150! :sunny:

Today, I did Super Body Sculpt and added 44 minutes to my exercise total! :Pinkbounc I had a problem with the late night eating again last night though. :( Very stressed out about my girls being sick and my DH not liking his new job. When will I learn that food is NOT the answer! :confused3

Christie~ Way to go turning to WISH intead of food today! I am proud of you! :cheer2:

Have a great day everyone! You CAN do it! :cheer2:

Hi all -

Sorry I didn't check in yesterday - it's been a bit hectic at work. Hope you are all doing well...

Tara: I would go to a running shoe store and bring a pair of walking/running shoes that you have been wearing so they can see the wear on the treads. This will give them an idea if your foot pronates.

I purchase shoes based on arch support and how wide the toe box is. For some reason, shoes that "fit" me for walking tend to be too narrow when I run - and I like to try them out (a slow jog around the store or right outside) to make sure there is no rubbing on the outside of my small toes.

Don't worry about shoe size so much - but rather whether your arch is supported, if your toes have enough room, and whether the shoe provides enough width (you also don't want your foot to "float" in the shoe - too wide -this can cause blisters). I can vary in shoe size (between a 9 and 10) - depending on the brand.

Hope this helps... Let me know what you get!

Iris :wave2:

:rose: Thank you all for the words of encouragement. :grouphug:

My day did start out pretty good. I have one pair of pants that I have been wearing that have been a little tight. I would just wear a long shirt to cover it. This morning when I put them on they were loose! I even wore a shorter shirt.:cool1:

Tara - Congratulations on the 1.5 pounds this week. You are doing great. :cheer2:

Tiggerkeeper - Congratulations on the 20 pounds!! Keep it up

chrissmiss - Here is your pixie dust for the trip it Indiana :wizard: WTG on getting up at 5am three days in a row.

Christy - Good luck on your weigh in tomorrow. :wizard: You'll do great!

toystoryduo - WTG on the Super Body Sculpt. You'll have that late night eating whipped in no time. :goodvibes

Christie

Hello all! I just had my WI and am down .6 - now at 175.8. Less of a loss than I was hoping for, but still a loss. This is the first week in YEARS I've actually exercised and I've done 20 min on my elliptical every day and stayed totally OP. Hopefully next week will be better. I'm at that VERY unpredictable stage in life and it could be TOM approaching. Never totally sure.

Good Luck all! Hope we all lose bunches this week!

Congratulations to all who have lost in the past week. I am new to this and appreciate the support from everyone. I actually went to the gym today. I walked the track for 40 minutes and them went to group training for 60 min. I probably will be sore tomorrow as I have not exercised in 2.5 months. I was unable to do all the upper body exercises because of my shoulder but I was able to modify things to still get a decent workout. :confused3

I hope to be able to exercise agian tomorrow after PT.

Kathy
:rotfl2:

:wave2: Good evening, fellow WISHers! I had a workshop today, and, I have to admit, I caved at the warm peanut butter and chocolate chip cookies. BUT I balanced it with a good workout at Curves after the session. l have vowed not to eat after supper tonight, and, with your help, I can do it! So, as soon as I finish watching Raymond, I'm going to bed!

It looks like we're on the track. We're moving....maybe not as fast as I'd like to be....but moving just the same. pirate:

:cheer2: YAY US!!! :cheer2: "Onward and Downward" everyone!!! Happy Friday! :cool1:

Good Friday morning everyone! I am happy to say I am down 3 pounds this week!!!! I am hoping next week at this time to be a member of the 170 Club!!!!!

Christy

Morning Team!! :flower:

Christy - Welcome to the 170's. Have been spending too much time there in recent months :) Happy to say I have moved on to the 160's. Come join me and we will moooooooooooove through it together toward the 150's :Pinkbounc

Debbie - I understand how hard it is NOT to eat after dinner. I have been known to sit on my hands . I also try to go to bed early (by 10pm). How about popping a sugar free Lifesaver Wintergreen mint? It has a strong flavor and gets rid of my urges!! Hang in there!

Kathy - We are so excited that you decided to join our team :grouphug:. You have come to the right place!!

To the rest of you - Focus on the goal - 150's and beyond!!!!!!

Keep drinking, keep moving, keep motivated!! :cheer2: :cheer2:

I have now exercised a minimum of 40 minutes for the last 4 days. Tomorrow off to Indiana to visit DD and a basketball game then home on Sunday in time for younger DD Pop Concert at the high school. Keep me in your thoughts.......have to find the motivation to watch what I eat and get back to exercising on Monday!! :wizard:

Have a magical Disney Day!!

Linda
