Wow.
Things have been non-stop busy!!! I'm back in school now. (ugh) Cheerleading, cheer clinic, EXAMS!! and soon to be musical tryouts are taking center stage now.

TOM is still here, wreaking havoc. It seems that every time I want to start a new healthy habit, TOM comes in and screws everything up!! Ay yi yi!

Water is good. Food choices not so much. I excessively snack on bad foods when TOM is here. Like regular sour cream and cheddar chips. I went nuts on a bunch of tortilla chips and salsa because they were sitting right. there.

Exercise is good. At cheerleading yesterday we did jump drills. They hurt but I did it. 75 jumps to an 8-count beat-got a little wheezy but stayed on my feet the entire time! YES!!!

Welcome Newbies, Happy Birthday Linda!!!

{IMG]http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c226/jpove2009/new_year_new_you_J.jpg[/IMG} The clippie changes every month according to the challenge. This month it's focusing on water...but post there so you can get all set up. Make sure to remove the {} and replace with [].

Debra-yes..we've started planning our next trip (in 2009!!!!!! AUGH! I can't live that long without a Disney fix!!!)...it's going to be a cruise!

Today's meals have been alright

B: two mugs tomato soup (4)
L: fried fish sandwich (my arteries are screaming with horror) (8)
D: ??? probably a chef salad or something
S: tortilla chips and salsa (6)

Water: 24 ounces!

:cheer2: WISHers
:cheer2: It's time!
:cheer2: Time to begin
:cheer2: We're here
:cheer2: Pumped
:cheer2: And ready to LOSE!
:cheer2: So step aside
:cheer2: Stay on your feet
:cheer2: The 150ers are here
:cheer2: Ready to defeat (that weight!)

Did I mention our band gets to play for a college game on Saturday? It's so exciting!!!!

Hugs!!! Jen

Evening All!!

Survived my birthday and can officially say that this has been a GOOD YEAR!!!! :cool1:

Not sure how I am accomplishing this but since the first of the year I have lost 4.5lbs which brings me to 172!!!!! :goodvibes I know that this will come to a grinding slow process at some point but I am enjoying it while it lasts :teeth:

Ok MY FAMILY IS THE BEST!!!!!! Last year was an emotional trying year for me with the health and mental issues of DD17 (thanks again for your support), getting the puppy, and my losing battle of losing weight. Many a time I just wanted to go away by myself for myself. :cloud9:

Well that is what I got for my birthday gift. My family is sending my to the most Magical Place in the World (psssst WDW) for 3 nights in March WOOHOO :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc And I am going by myself to do what I want when I want to...........This may seem weird to some of you but I am psyched. Sleeping in, reading, eating at restaurants of my choice, ahhhhhh and my favorite rides and stores. :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc I am truly blessed......

66 days to lose weight so I can wear comfortable clothes to WDW.....

I have been doing well with eating even though right now I am having a food attack and need to keep the fingers busy. Water intake is going well and took Cody for a 30 minute walk today.

Other good news!!!! The pool table is SOLD!! :banana: which means I can take that room and use it for exercising. Haven't been to the gym since the puppy came into our lives. All DH will have to do is run a cable line so I can have a TV/DVD in there.

If the rest of the year is 1/2 as good this will be a banner year :goodvibes

Thanks for the good birthday wishes.

Jen - What college game will you be performing at? What a GREAT time that will be. I personally hate TOM - right there with you.

Schatz - Come and join me in the 170s - I know you can do this!! Glad you are making it to the gym.

Debra - I am so sorry you feel that you missed the moment with the matching outfits. I do know how that feels BUT focus on all the other good memories you and your daughters will be creating like sharing clothes when they get older. I don't have that with my DD's even though we are all the same height. They are a size 0 and 1 HA!! not with this big old butt!! Another opportunity will present itself I promise.

Kathy - You are becoming the Marathon Goddess :teeth: :teeth: Can't wait for your next update.

How is everyone else doing? Come on 2006!!! This is our YEAR to BURN the FAT!!!!

Have a Magical Disney Day!!
Linda

Chrissmiss...I'd say so far this year has been very good to you. You keep losing girl and don't question why or how, just keep it up. Treat yourself to a massage or spa treatment while you are alone in the world. LUCKY YOU :cool1:

I just read my post and realize that I should add that DD17 is doing GREAT!! She is no longer seeing anyone for her emotional issues (is maintaining with meds) and the healthy issues are 100% better also and has meds when she needs them. Thanks again for your support and prayers.

This is going to be a GREAT year!!

Have a Magical Disney Day!!

Tomorrow I will get back on track even if I have to crawl there...

Morning All!!

Last night I staved off the cravings of popcorn that entire night. Drank hot tea to kill the urge. My reward was to go up .5lb on the scale :scratchin 172.5 have to work harder at this.

Off to be a 1st grade teacher today.....I am hearing this is a very "needy" class which means lots and lots of attention :rotfl: :rotfl:

Happy Friday!!! Have 65 days left to move and lose!!!!

Have a Magical Disney Day!!

Linda!
That is the most wonderful birthday present in the world! I am so happy for you to get to go to WDW! I call that "our Happy Place"!

We are going in March also, but if you are going in 66 days, you must be going at the beginning of March. We are on the Disney cruise on March 26 and then we get one day at Beach Club on March 30th. We aren't going to the parks since we have decided to return in June with DH's family and we are doing the parks every day. We are giving the girls a day at Stormalong Bay after the cruise (and hopefully lunch at Beaches and Cream) and then a trip over to DTD for some shopping that evening.

Jen, you will LOVE the cruise! We have one booked for 2007 and then we are skipping 2008 and so we will be planning for 2009. Try to book your cruise the day the rooms open (especially if you want one of those Secret Porthole Rooms--paying for an inside room by getting a window with an obstructive view, but it is a FREE window!). The dates have been opening in the fall, so I am thinking that the 2009 dates will open in the fall of 2007.

How's the losing going today??

Managed to get to the gym at 5 am. This is good. Worked out for 60 minutes. My thighs are really feeling it. I am also getting all the water in, so this too is good. But, There is always a but isn't there. Someone brought Cashew Nuts into my house. These my friends are one of my downfalls. So needless to say, I need to get them out of here quickly.
Anyway....

Donac I hope you get good reports when you go back to the doctor. Here is some pixie dust :goodvibes

I'm planning on getting up early tomorrow to get to the gym, It is DH USAF Reserve weekend, so no sleeping in on the weekend. Might as well make the most of it.

Happy Losing

Tracy

This week was not the most losing week ever. 183 is currently where I'm at.

It involved clean out the fridge night, nearly a whole bag of jumbo marshmallows and pizza.

I am going to rededicate myself right now!

I'm here because I was sick of being FAT. I still am kind of because it hasn't gone away completely. My behaviors aren't helping that.

I have really no concept of portion control. I snack mindlessly more often then not.

To curb that I do WW normally. But the holidays have completely thrown me off track.

Today's goals: Make healthy choices. Watch portion control. No mindless eating. Follow up on the water. WATCH PORTION CONTROL. NO MINDLESS EATING.

I think I'm going to start another 100 day challenge: no junk food (potato chips [tortilla chips are okay in moderation and so are pretzels], candy, marshmallows etc.), no juice, and no fast food (ie burgers, fries...grilled chicken and salads are okay). Those seem to really help.

Which means I'll have to go grocery shopping...low fat yogurt, fruit, skinless/boneless chicken breasts, Philly Swirls, 100 cal packs (sandies), salad fixings etc.

I will succeed because I choose to and I want this more than anything!!! Can do will do gonna do!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Debra-thanks for that clue!!!
Donac-good wishes and prayers
Off to the basketball game in about an hour and a half!!
Tracy, that is great that you are going to the gym! Congrats! That is a big step! I am not good with the exercise, but I need to try to get myself on the treadmill to get ready for our vacation. In March it won't be bad because we are going on the cruise, but we are going 4 days to the parks in June, and I need to get in shape for that! We are going with my in-laws and they wear my out! They go go go all the time!
Linda, are you excited about your trip? Are you going all by yourself or are you going to take someone with you? Where are you staying? We are going to Beach Club and we are excited to stay there because it has been about 3 years since we were there and the girls love the pool there!
Well, it FINALLY happened!
I got my "70" pound clippie back. I finally lost that holiday weight (New Years was the worse for some reason, I really ate a lot last weekend).
Now I am going to work on losing another 5 pounds before the cruise in March. I know I will probably come home with a 10 pound gain because I plan to eat everything I want (and more :flower: ). I booked the Palo Brunch for DH and I and we have never been there for brunch, so we plan to really dig in and enjoy all the new foods.
Hope everyone has a great weekend! We are watching a DVD of the TV Show FAME? Anyone old enough to remember that? I use to watch it in high school. My girls have never seen it, and we are going through the first season (since all the TV show seem to be reruns).
OH! BTW, I will be stressing out a lot next week. My baby (6th grade) is going to her first dance with a boy next Friday night! AND I can't come! I tried to be a chaperone, but they have them all. The boy's mother is one, so that makes me feel better. He actually seems like a very nice boy. I have met his mom (we volunteered together on a school project) and he is good friends with a boy in my church and his mom said this boy is very nice. But still.......she's my BABY!
I am NOT doing well moving into these 'middle school' years! No more "Mommy/Daughter/Doll" dresses and NOW dances with BOYS! Oh! And I can't pick out clothes for them any more! I bought a really cute jacket on clearance at Old Navy yesterday for $12 (they are having great sales--I got jeans for $10, they have everything on clearance you get an extra 30% off). Of course, she didn't like it! I am taking it back and getting it in MY size! *I* like it!
Then there are the 'rolling eyes' and the "Oh Mom! You just don't get it!" and so on and so on!!!! I miss my girls when they were 8 and thought I was the coolest mom in the world because I was their Girl Scout leader and all the girls thought I was a great Girl Scout leader! I guess those days are over....
Sorry....having a mom melt down moment.
Have a great weekend everyone!
Debra
Debra - I know you didn't mean to but you brought a HUGE SMILE :teeth: :teeth: to my face reading about your "mommy meltdown". WELCOME TO MY WORLD :grouphug: I have been in the can't buy them anything - eye rolling stage on one level or another for the last 8 years!! :rotfl: There have been times when I have been looked at in such a way that I know they are wondering "How does Mom even have enough smarts to get dressed in the morning" :rotfl: I just keep reminding myself that I went through this also and this too shall pass. And guess what I am finally starting to see a light (ever so small but growing with each passing month) at the end of the tunnel. Middle school years and junior year of high school were the pits for both my girls. NEVER EVER want to go through middle school again.
As much as it bothers you, it is probably better that you don't attend the dance. If your DD is already doing the eye roll then she really would be bothered by you attending. One good thing the middle school here did is that the parents could NOT chaperone for their grade level dance. So if your were a 7th grade parent you could only chaperone the 8th grade dance and vice versa plus the teachers chaperoned. Made it much less stressful for both child and parent.
My heart goes out to you........but trust me it WILL get better. Even though DD17 doesn't think she "needs" her mom and questions my abilities - I always hear about her life first :goodvibes :goodvibes She is just now starting to show signs that hmmmmmmmmmm maybe mom isn't all so bad. Hang in there!! :wizard: :wizard:
Congrats on getting your clippie back!! :cool1: :cool1:
Well I fell off the wagon and let it roll over me yesterday :rotfl: Had a bad (but yummy) lunch and dinner.........argh :eek: The scale showed a 1 lb gain which has to GO!!!!
Off to be a domestic goddess for the day :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
Have a Magical Disney Day!!
Hi
Forgot to ask - Need your help!!
As you know I turned 50 this past week and the family is sending me to WDW by myself for a few days of "ME TIME". Yup all by myself......well DD21 and her friend will be there on property for 2 of the 4 days I am there and we said that we would have dinner BUT not "hang" together the whole time. This is really going to be "ME TIME" and I don't have a problem soloing it.
Anyway here is my query - If you were me and had about $250 "Mad Money" to do what you wanted at WDW what would you do? A spa treatment (never had a massage in my life), Backstage Tour (DD and DH took it years ago and rave about it - I wasn't able to join them because the younger DD wasn't old enough so I stayed behind with her), a Disney collectible????? Go off property and do something. Right now I have Magical Express but it wouldn't bother me to rent a car.........I am stuck and not sure what to do. :confused3
HELP me spend my "Mad Money" :teeth: :teeth:
Have a Magical Disney Day!!
Linda
Linda,
8 Years! Wow! I have a long road ahead. I have heard people say that around age 25 things change and the mom/daughter relationship becomes more like friends. I was also fine with hanging with my mom, so I didn't go through this phase. My sister did. I think I have one DD like me and one DD like my sister (the one like my sister is going to the dance, my other DD (her twin) said she would want me to come to her dance!). But we will see. We are just starting this road of "push mom away--but not too far, but now go away....but no, I want you here and you should KNOW what I want.....circle of life :faint: ).
I suppose it is all part of being a parent. I just HOPE my DDs never stop wanting to go to Disney with us. When we bought DVC, it was with the idea that we would take the girls with us at once a year on a trip until they are married, and then one day we would be taking grandchildren (yes, I think long term ;) ). So far, they still like Disney and still want to vacation with us. I hope that doesn't come to an end.
How to spend money? You know, I just can't imagine being at Disney all alone. I like having alone time, but I am not good at just hanging out and doing stuff by myself. I am not a 'spa' person, so that wouldn't appeal to me. I would love to see Cirque, but I would want to go with the family.
How would you feel about doing something with your DD, like going to the California Grill for dinner one night and staying to see the fireworks from the Comtempory? Or going to the tea at the GF. As for tours, the one that interests me is the Segway tour. I would love to do that one! Here is a website that lists the different tours. There are several that I would enjoy:
http://www.allearsnet.com/btp/tours.htm
I am sure you will have a great time! There are so many wonderful thing to do at WDW!
