Welcome Siesta!!!!!

Today has not been a very good day. I think I'm catching a touch of the sickies, we have NO hot water (we have cold water, but I dread taking cold showers!!) AND TOM stopped in today. Joy of all joyousness.

As one of the brat kids would say "ugga bugga ugga bugga BOO BOO BOO!" I swear they spoke cavepeople sometimes!

My body is absolutely SICK of eating unhealthy foods. Tonight's dinner starts the kickback into healthy eating. And homework.

Adieu, and hugs all!
Jen

Oh oh oh oh oh!!! I should plan my meals on here too...

I got a smidge of exercise in because I was blitz-shopping...I was burning shoe leather going through the mall...

Dinner is going to be soup, water, toast and sugar free Jell-O provided I find any because I'm still feeling a smidge sick...

Breakfast tomorrow will be an egg with 1 slice of ham chopped into it (3)
Lunch tomorrow will be an entree from the lunch line (the lesser of the two evils)
Dinner will be Garlic Tuna Pasta with Tomatoes and a possible salad depending on the veggies in the fridge.

Dec 19 - MGM - Narnia exhibit, Voyage of Little Mermaid, Magic of Animation, Lunch Toy Story Pizza Planet, back to resort to rest.
Evening - EPCOT trip around World Showcase. Supper at Rose and Crown, food was ok, service stunk and we had to wait more than an hour past our ADR time to get seated outdoors. Probably won't go back.

Dec 20 - Ohana's breakfast. Back to resort. Afternoon - EPCOT, VISA Magical Memories (you get to meet 3 characters alone. We were allowed 15 min because they weren't busy. Walk around world showcase. Had to wait for lift bridge while they were bringing the globe and fireworks barges in. Supper at L'Cellier before Candlelight Processional w/Marley Matlin. Illuminations.

Dec 21 - Animal Kingdom, Pizzafari for lunch. We got some good pictures of the animals as our safari driver slowed to almost a stop when there was a good picture taking opportunity. Supper - Liberty Tree Tavern

Dec 22 - EPCOT - Turtle Talk w/ Crush, Soarin, and character connection. Lunch - Electric Umbrella. Back to villa to rest. Retruned to walk thru EPCOT to get to DVC Merry Member Mixer just outside the International Gateway. Took bus to POR for supper at Boatright's. Carraige ride around PO after dinner.

Dec 23 - MGM - Narnia, Muppets 3D, pictures w/Sorcer Mickey. Back to villa to rest. Afternoon tea at Grand Floridian counted as lunch. Back to MGM in evening for Osborne Lights.

Dec 24 - late breakfast at Boma, hung around OKW pool until time for Magical Express.  We decided they should rename the return bus because there is nothing magical about returning home. Took a non-stop flight back to Buffalo and got to Mom's about 8 PM.

Here are some pictures from the trip:Ohanas breakfast me w/Stitch

This should complete the Xmas trip report. I will be leaving for WDW again on Wed morning to drive down with Erin (who will be staying for 5 months) who will do the half marathon with me on Sat and watch Lynne finish the full on Sunday.

Great pictures! I love the one of the Tea! I have never done that before, it looks wonderful!

So you are going back! That is great! I can't wait for my turn!

Loved your report! We are using the Magical Express in June for the first time. I'm a bit nervous about it since we have never done it. Did it work out well for you? Do they show a video on the way to the resort (the girls would love that--they did that on the Disney Cruise bus the time we used that).

Debra

Debra - Magical Express works great. We have used it for the last 4 trips - May, July, Oct and Dec. Lynne will be using it again for this weekend. On the way to the resort we saw a promotional movie with all the characters promoting the DVC membership. The movie going back to the airport was a live action Disney movie but I can't remember what it was.

The afternoon tea was a great experience. Lynne and I got the cinnamon spice tea, Mom got blackcurrant, Sarah got jasmine, Erin got peppermint, and Trudy got green tea. We tasted each others. It is a three course meal starting with 5 small sandwiches, followed by tarts and scones and ending with triffles or fresh fruit with whipped cream. None of us finished everything we were served. Erin was served special sandwiches due to her seafood allergy as one of them had shrimp in it. I traded my shrimp for egg salad. It was a very restful time which we almost missed.

Our trip to the tea was stressful to say the least. We gave ourselves almost an hour to get there and ended up being half an hour late. The hostess was great and symphathized with us because of the trouble with both bus and monorail transportation. We weren't expecting to get a table as they only hold reservations 15 min. They apoligised to us for not having better seating arrangements. We were seated on a bench with 3 round table put together to hold our plates and tea. Our server was great. She is the one who took the picture. We were not hurried at all. From start to finish took just over 2 hours.

I think it is an experience your girls may like. It is not only for women, we saw a number of men there also. Maybe their significant others threatened them to get them there but everyone appeared to be relaxed and enjoying themselves.

I leave for WDW again on Wed. We had planned on being there from the 5th to the 9th for the marathon anyway. I will just leave a day early to drive down with Erin. I will fly home on the 9th getting back to Syracuse at 1 AM on the 10th. I will have to be up bright and early as I have an 8 AM drs appt on the 10 at the pain clinic for my neck. This is a short trip to get lots of exercise and earn the jewelry. I will post a picture upon returning.

Kathy!!! WOW!!! What GREAT pictures!! And I must have missed the fact that Lynne was doing the full marathon! WOW!! Tell her GOOD LUCK!!! And I'm sooo thrilled for you for doing the 1/2 marathon! What a great trip to take with your family...I love sharing Disney with extended family...it's just a great place to make memories! I know Erin will love the college study program...my roommate in college did it...she made LASTING LASTING friendships and even met her husband at the Poly check in desk! :) They do work you but what better place to be overworked! :) Can't you get an accounting job down there? I wouldn't mind you working so much then! :) Hoping your neck feels very good for the day of the race...getting up so early in the morning can be rough...make sure you take a good anti-inflammatory or something before the race.

I just read through 4 pages of posts...I was laughing my head off on some (the night before Christmas and no kids would sleep post) and wearying on others (the no hot water? the weigh ins that went awry  the shock of others seeing massive loss :confused3 now come on Debra...ya know that it's mind-boggling to see what you've done in 12 months!!! GIVE YOURSELF credit for doing a major turnaround....folks just need extra looks to make sure it's you! :)...so glad you had a great visit with your sister...hopefully it'll encourage her and your friend too!

What's this about a re-do on a kitchen? 6 months? Please tell me you'll be on the Home and Garden channel so I can see how you survive all that! :) But I bet it will be BEAUTIFUL after...6 months isn't so long :cool1:

Jen! WAY to go on not wanting more mac/cheese...I remember the old days when I could eat a whole box of Kraft....now I eat a 1/4 and I'm fine with it....I actually don't even like it..much prefer homemade cheese sauce and elbow noodles. You're going to go into this new year with a great handle on portion control and choosing friendly foods! :)

I had hoped to go back the past 30 pages and make an updated list...will have to wait until the morning...got to go to sleep to get up for my 5:45 am walk...first one in a month!!! EEK!!! But I'm committed and will get to GOAL in 2006!!! 145 here I come!!!!

Welcome newbie!!! Come on in and share your days and goals for getting down! Many of us have had to lose alot of pounds...it's a daily recommitment but when you get in the losing zone it goes really smoothly...we're here to help you find your zone! :)

Let's kick it team!!! PRAYERS AND PIXIE DUST to all you marathoners!! Will be sending energy and good vibes the whole day! :)

Tara

Tara - Erin is doing the half with me. We will make sure the other finishes.
I will post a picture of all of us with our medals.

I hope everyone is having a healthy start to the new year. Lets make it a losing year. I am starting at 172.6 and want to be at 165 by the time I do the 15K (9 mi) Women Run the World race on May 6. I entered TC2009's New Year New You Challenge and so far have managed 64 oz of water each day. We are taking water on the trip to WDW so both Erin and I can be well hydrated for the race.

Have a great day, eat healthy and drink your water.

Hi Ladies,

Well I finally got to the gym today and worked out. it's nice to be motivated again. I think TM had something to do with the non motivation. I walked only a mile and did ab work and leg work for 30 minutes. Not alot but it's something. I also have committed to the 90 OZ of water, so far I'm at 72 oz. I'll get the rest in for sure.

tigercheer where did you get the new year new you clippie? I'm liken that.

NYCPA- those are awesome pictures. I was hoping to be able to fly down for the DVC preview of expedition everest, but alas, my car needs new tires, so I better spend the money there instead. How was the Naria exhibit. Ellissa(dd 11) had to read the book this year, so she may want to take that in, in May when we arrive at the mouse.

Welcome to all the newbies, I'm a little late in posting, for that I apologize.

See ya later losers

Hey gang! Part of updating our crew is to give us a clippie and organize all the losing bunch of us...and to make sure we share and celebrate our successes...first on the agenda is to come up with a clippie...Digimon designed the first one and obviously has a skill with this...she said she could revamp it and take suggestions...the second one was found and created by Debra from a website that lets you tinker around and make a cool design...the last is just another color/style to get ideas from you guys! I'm hoping they all come through in this post. Let me know what you all think and hopefully tonight I can get running with it!

Also, a correction from another post...I had been told that you were limited to 3 clippies...but for WISH participants they say your losing clippies don't count against you (the banner of pounds lost) and I think the marathon or related losing types don't count...I'll confirm...but just wanted to update you all!

Tara ...on to losing in 2006!!!

I know the 150s club is a way off for me, but I would like to join as well. I know I look my best around 145, but it has been a while since I have seen that weight. My current weight is 237 which is up over the past 6 months. I have a 13 year old daughter that was diagnosed with a very rare type of ovarian cancer in May '05. Being worried sick about her I have not been eating as well I should be. We have spent many nights in the hospital with some really bad food choices and limited exercise. Now that her chemotherapy treatments have ended, I would like to lose this excess weight. I have joined a local women's gym and I start tomorrow morning! I hope to report being in the 220s soon :)

Welcome Tinan! I am so sorry to hear about your DD. It is hard to eat well during emotionally difficult times. My weight came from a period of time when I lost my dad and then three years later lost my mom. It is hard to break the cycle of bad eating once you are in it.

I am SO proud of you making this decision to change your life! I decided to lose my weight this time because I wanted to be healthy and around for my family!

A year ago today (January 3rd) I walked into Weight Watchers and the scales read 203. The last time I weighed that I gave birth to my twins. Last month I met my goal and lost 70 pounds (I am up by 2.5 pounds from the holidays right now, so I took my 70 pound clippie away, but hope to have it back real soon--I was up 5 pounds from the holidays, so I am heading back down).

It was a year long process for me, and these ladies in the 150 Club played a HUGE part of it for me. The support and encouragement and friendship really helped to keep me going month after month.

So welcome to our Club, and get ready for the journey of a lifetime! I can honestly say that my life is SO much better today than it was 1 year ago tonight. A year ago last night I was PIGGING OUT knowing I was heading to WW the next day. I was not even sure if I would make it through the first week. The whole thing looked so HUGE to me. But I joined the "5" per month challenges and that was the BEST thing to get me going. I stopped looking at the total number and worked each month on my goal. Last year I lost weight EVERY SINGLE MONTH. Some months were more than others, but every month I was smaller than the month before.

Just take a few steps and before you know it, you will be far into your journey.

Again, welcome! We are all getting ready for a grea new year.

Debra

Happy Birthday!!! :bday:

This is going to be a GREAT year for you! Hey, you are 30 pounds lighter than I was at the start of 2005, so you are WAY ahead! You are going to look amazing for your next birthday! I know it will happen!

I love that picture of my husband holding me too. I never thought that would happen again (he hasn't carried me like that since we were in our 20s). But the other thing that I NEVER thought would happen was for my DDs to see me in my wedding dress (I never thought I would get it on again!). For those of you who are new, Linda is talking about a couple of pictures I posted in November (I think). When I joined this group I said that 'my goal' was for my DH to be able to carry me like he did when we first got married.

Five years ago I bought my little girls 'My Twinn' dolls. I got them matching outifts so the girls could dress like their dolls. It was SO cute. They also had these Mother/Daughter/Doll outfits. There was a dress I really liked and wanted to buy it SO bad so we could all dress alike (yes, I am a Geeky Mom :) ).

Well, I couldn't get it because the XL (the largest size) was a 16 and I wore a size 20.

Yesterday I got a sale catalog from "My Twinn" and those exact dresses are on clearance! NOW I can fit into the dress.......BUT.......five years have passed and now my girls are 12 and it would be SO UNCOOL to wear matching Mother/Daughter/Doll dresses.

I could just cry! Why did I wait so long to lose this weight!?! I will never again have that chance to do this with my daughters. I realize I have many other opportunities ahead, but it makes me sad to think of the little things like this that I missed out on.

Oh well, onward and forward. We can't look back, right?

Sorry, I am just having a 'moment' and DH isn't around to whine too. He wouldn't understand anyway (he would just be relieved that he didn't have to wear the matching "Daddy" shirt I would have had to buy to go with our mother/daughter/doll dresses  ).

Hope everyone is doing well in the new year. I am ready for everyone to be back on schedule here at our house. One DD is back in school, but the other won't go back until Monday. Then I will be able to get my eating back on schedule.

Is everyone else getting into their routine?

Linda, how was your birthday?

Tara, I like all of the clippies for the 150 club. Whatever you decide is fine with me.

Maria, how are you doing? No LOST in SO long! I am ready for some new TV shows!

Jen, are you back in school this week or just doing your cheerleading? Has your family started planning their NEXT Disney trip? As soon as we return we usually start planning the next one. :earsboy:

Talk with everyone later.
Debra

Hi there everyone.

Well I made it to the gym today YAY! And I'm really sucking down the water. I weighed myself yesterday at 193.2, so I gained some pounds over the holidays. So I'm staying focused on the 5lb a month. Westjones, if I can keep it going like you did, I would be pretty happy with myself at this time next year.

Tinan, welcome to this great group of ladies. If you don't find inspiration and motivation here, I'm not sure where you are going to find it.

Chrissmiss HAPPY BIRTHDAY. here's to the start of a new you!!

Tara those clippies are cool, I'm all for the glitter

Can someone please tell me how to get the new you clippie. When I tried to add it to my siggie, it said it was moved, I'm assuming they meant from photobucket.

When you are losing, what is the consensus on how often to weigh in?

Thanks and keep up all this losing
