RF536-I'm so sorry for what is going on with your family & friends right now. And I can see how not eating properly is probably at the bottom of your list, but you've gotta stay strong & healthy, esp now. Prayers that your DH is ok!
Made it through yesterday with no cheating, right on plan, phew!
Back to spin class this morning, after a round of upper body & ab weight machines, man that was tough! But that part is done & over with, onto the rest of the day, right?
Found some new (to me) snacks at the store yesterday:
Special K Snack Bites- little snack packs (6 in a box) that have 90 cals, 2 g fat--come in strawberry or vanilla--they taste awesome, and are sweet and cruncy-love them. Only tried the vanilla yesterday but will taste the strawberry kind today.
Quaker Chewy Choc Chip Granola Bars --these are the ones with 25% less sugar than the regular ones, 1 bar is 100 calories, 4 g fat, 3 g fiber--haven't tried them yet, but how bad could a choc chip granola bar be?
Kudos M & M Bars --can't tell I'm craving chocolate, huh? I bar has 100 calories, 3 g fat--great for those tries you gotta have some chocolate!
And because I'm trying to get more soy in my diet:
GenSoy Soy Crisps --100 cal, 2 g fat, 2 g fiber in 25 crisps--these are like a light rice cake, about the size of a half dollar and have 7 g of soy protein. I tried the salt & vinegar kind and they taste like a salt vinegar fluffy chip--if that makes sense.
Crunchies Edamame--3/8 cup has 124 cal, 6 g fat, 3 g fiber and 11 g soy protein. These are not the best thing I've ever eaten, but if you are trying to get more soy in your diet, they aren't the worst way. They are the green soybean heads and are dried so they are light & crunchy.
Anyway--thought I'd toss those ideas into the mix. I'm always on the lookout for a great-tasting snack!
Linda-I liked going to the nutrionist and last year when I lost the weight I met with her weekly for the 1st 3 weeks, then once every 2 weeks after that. Unfortunately, she went out on maternity leave and it was hard for me to get into the replacement person's schedule as her hours were really wacky. I eventually stopped going. Now I got another referral from my Doc (covered by ins!) and I've been 2 see my original person 2 times in the past 2 1/2 weeks.
She is a good fit for me because she understands that I need to see some results in order to stay motivated. She has no problem with me using a meal replacement shake for breakfast & lunch for a few months, because she believes that along the way I will gain the needed willpower to stick with the changes I am making. She also works in conjuction with the trainers at the gym where I'm a member to make sure I'm eating enough & not too much, that kind of thing.
I really like meeting with her because I can see where my diet is totally lacking (fiber) and where I do really good like dairy and fruits/veggies. She's made me aware of the benefits of adding soy protein to my diet and also gave me some great meal ideas and websites to check out on my own. This system works best for me because I couldn't go to a chain (like NutriSystem, or LA Weight Loss) because they usually (not always) want you to buy their food and I cannot with my food allergies.
Anyway--sorry for the long-winded answer, but I really think she is going to be a big-part of my long-term success. I told her no more babies though, she agreed, lol!

She has a set of triplets & twins--yikes!
