A week ago tomorrow, we decided we didn't like the VRBO in Orlando we arranged and my family here was bugging us. Bro we called to see if we could put together a quickie trip. Two nights at the Poly were available, so we took it.
We checked in Wednesday then went to DHS. Managed to get the desert party, so we hit ToT and Star Tours, but my kds decided to use the bail out door at RnR. Yesterday we walked in the gate at 11. Walked out with three very tired kids at 2 as they were closing the place down. Far and away my longest day at a park anywhere. I think we went through 2319 bottles of water, and the kids got to experience their first torrential Florida downpour.
But we did 17 rides, a CP lunch, the Wishes Desert party and hit all the mountains, despite 97 degrees outside. Same day reservations for the reset party are still around -- I thought they'd been cancelled, and that would have saved me a bunch of phone calls (when I booked, I could only get ADRs for 4 of the 5 of us, so I'd been trying to add one person) when I saw they had same days, I bought one, then the CMs took pity and sent me down to my family (with a cookie that said "sorry" no less). Then we powered through until the end, wrapping thing up with 7dmt that ended at 1:48. The only problem was we couldn't get into Tuvalu with our MBs until someone came to help.
And today we hit Ohana and left. We're tired and back at the VRBO, and we leave for Denver in the morning. But this taught me something; last time here we did Universal, Sea World New Smyna and Gatorland. This time KSC, the beach and the pool at the house. Both were cool. But despite the heat and the crowds and the cost, in order for Orlando to be great, you gotta see the mouse.
