My family and I are off to Florida for 10 days in august. We have been comparing prices of disney tickets and have found the 5, 7 and 14 day tickets are all the same price.
With this in mind I was wondering if we should purchase the 14 day ticket, use 7 and try and sell the tickets with the remaining 7 days whilst we are there (for a reduced price).
Does this sound a viable option or would it be considered bad form?
I see it that someone would be getting a bargain but not sure how easy it would be?

It would be impossible. You have to give your fingerprints the first time you enter a park on your ticket which serves as your personal "ticket ID". This means if someone found your ticket they would be more likely to hand it in as it would be useless to anyone else.

It is not legal to sell remainders of used tickets, although there are plenty black market vendors out there to rip folk off.
Have you priced up buying your tickets from one of the official US vendors? If you are only going a short while it may be cheaper this way than the UK ones, which really only come into their own on longer trips.

Are you only wanting to visit the parks on 7 days? If you may want to visit every day (including arrival and departure day, which would make 11) you would still be better off with the 14 day UK tickets.

Oh and Welcome to the DIS.

You can't transfer tickets, as your finger is scanned upon entry into the parks.

Also all tickets expire 14 days from first use. I always get the 14 day ticket as it gives unlimited entry to all parks for 14 days, whereas with the others you only get 5 or 7 day entry into the main parks + the same into the water parks etc. I guess it depends how many theme park days you want, but the 14 day pass gives maximum flexibility.

We discovered Disney Quest at DTD last week, if you like arcades then you'll love it in there, and entry is included with the tickets as well.

Also check prices on the Disney World website, as they were the cheapest when I bought ours, and I have a feeling they still are now.

Thanks for your help, I have not been to WDW for 3 years and did not realise they had introduced fingerprint I.D!
I will get the 14 day pass I think and use it for disney quest etc.
Cannot wait, 1st time we have taken both our children.:rotfl:

The 14-day ticket will give you the best options, and it will usually work out cheaper than buying the alternative Magic Your Way tickets in America. Plus, at the moment, the 14-day tickets are all on sale for the price of 7 day tickets, which you will have already noticed. Why buy 7, when you can get 14? ;)

Are you only planning on visiting the Disney parks?

In my experience, unless you are visiting Disney parks only for 14 days, the 14 day Ultimate ticket is rarely the cheapest/most cost effective option.

If you plan to visit the water parks and the Disney parks, consider buying Magic Your Way (MYW) tickets - for example, an adult 6 day ticket with park hopping, water park fun and more - so allowing you 6 days in the parks and 6 visits to water parks, Disney Quest or Wide World of Sports is $343.95 (approx £230 at current exchange rates) compared to £250 for an adult 14 day Ultimate. This is a saving of £20 for just one person - if there are 3 or 4 (or more) of you, the savings are greater. If you are only going for 10 days, there is absolutely no way you NEED a 14 day ticket.

If you would rather just have the convenience of a 14 day ticket, that's fine but it's always worth exploring the options.

Try www.undercovertourist.com for prices of MYW tickets :)

In that case, there's probably nothing in it. I suppose it's personal preference - I tend to prefer the MYW tickets as we usually know exactly how many park days we need and so can usually save money that way.

OP, if you aren't going to park hop and don't need water parks, the basic MYW tickets will definitely save you money.
