12th May 2005, 3 Night Wonder Cruise

Can't believe it's only 6 weeks 'til we're cruising!!!
*takes a deep, calming breath*

Sharon, as a first-time cruiser I can only recommend what I've enjoyed reading most, and am unable to vouch for the accuracy/usefulness of the following...

1. The Magical Cruise Guide- downloadable from the fabulous allearsnet.com

2. Barb and Tony's (v. experienced cruisers!) website castawayclub

3. dcltribute.com Another fab site,
full of pictures that worked me up into a frenzy of over excitement. Don't
worry, DF has tranquiliser darts at the ready..

Can't wait to meet you all!
Happy planning,

Hi cocinelle

I take it you mean only '16 weeks' till we're cruising, you almost gave me funny turn then !! :crazy2:

It is flying by fast, I can't wait till all the Summer clothes are in the shops

See ya soon

mandymouse :earsgirl:

Sorry!! Think that was wishful typing on my part...
Having said that, 16 weeks leaves more time to save for my Fun in FLA Fund! Shutters, Sephora, So very many Disney shops- here we come!!

Still gonna be a very quiet cruise, given that only 5 dis-ers are going so far.. Fingers crossed for upgrades- someone's got to use those suites, right?!

Is this going to be the quietest cruise in cruising history

Please feel free to add your name if you're joining us :grouphug:

mandymouse :earsgirl:

I guess we'll have the ship to ourselves and all get upgraded to the suites!
Really, you'd think there would be more disers posting on this sailing but guess with schools in session it will be mostly you folks from the UK and me taking DD out of school!

I'm still in a state of disbelief that we're going on DCL. While I thought DD would love it, I had my doubts about whether I would. So here we are going! I'm sure I'll end up loving it as well.

Mandymouse and Concinelle, first time for you both?

Hi hightown

This will be our 3rd DCL 3 night cruise, and I am sooooo excited. I have 2 DD's age 14 & 12 (when we travel), how old is your DD ?

Here's hoping that we all get upgraded, maybe one of us will have the Walt Disney Suite (I don't think !! - LOL :rotfl2: )

I'm really looking forward to meeting you all

mandymouse :earsgirl:

Hi Mandymouse!

My DD is 11. Lover of Star Wars, Video Games, Tom Boy. I know she'll love the kids clubs and I'll have to force her to do stuff with me! I'm taking my parents along on the cruise as well.

Would be fun to meet up and I know my DD would love hooking up with Kids!

Sharon

We just went to double digits till cruise! And paid everything off yesterday! Or at least charged it so will be paying that bill in a few days.

Mandymouse, sent you a pm.

I need to get busy and get passport photos taken and get our passports.

So here's the double digit dance! :cool1:

Hello,

I just submitted my paperwork for my leave at work today. :cool1:

Is anyone planning a trip to cable beach while in the Bahamas?

Debbie

Hi Debbie

I must admit that I'm not a big fan of Nassau, we usually get off the ship for an hour, buy some t-shirts (hey we have to prove we've been to the Bahamas - LOL), then we take loads of photos and spend the rest of the day by the Goofy pool (oh dear I'm getting all excited just thinking about it)

  Anyway it's time to double digit dance - hooray!!

Dancing, Double Digit style...!

Sharon- yes, it will be our first ever cruise and I CAN'T WAIT!!!! I just don't think three days on the Wonder sounds like long enough! At least I have the thought of a week at the Happiest Place on Earth to keep me going.. :goodvibes It's bitterly cold in Paris today- oh for that beautiful Floridian sunshine...!

Concinelle, will you be at WDW after the cruise? Where are you staying?

I'm at Boardwalk in for just two nights meeting up with another DISer and her Daughter.

What I'm most excited about is seeing the ocean again. Coming from landlocked states, don't get to do that much and DD hasn't been to an ocean since she was 10 months old. Now 11 yrs old. Will be exciting for her.

HI Mandy and Debbie!

Mandy have you done any of the excursions in Nassau that are mildly worthwhile? What about at Castaway Cay?

Sharon

Yes, we will be at WDW for seven nights following the cruise. It took us ages to decide where to stay (and whether to rent DVC points or not), but we booked our flights and lodgings in January: Beach Club, here we come!!! Gotta love that location.. :goodvibes
Our last visit to WDW was in August, I can't wait to benefit from May's relative lack of crowds.. And the temperature sounds ideal! :sunny:

Mandy- as a member of Castaway Club, is it true that you get a DCL towel as a welcome present in your cabin (a cabin rather than a room!! I'm learning all the lingo..)?

cocinelle xx

:flower:

Yes cocinelle

As a returning cruiser you will receive a lovely DCL towel and two pins per stateroom, so I'm looking forward to having another towel.

Are you going to dress up for 'pirate night'? my lot don't fancy it, but I think it would be a scream. I wouldn't wear it to dinner, especially if it was in Tritons, but I think it would be fun for the party, and it'll be nice to see the fireworks too (I think I read that they're starting on the Wonder in Feb/Mar).

Anyway 14 weeks today - yippee

mandymouse :earsgirl:

I am very excited about the prospect of the Pirates of the Carribean festivities- like you, I'm not sure about dressing for dinner- but I definitely would for the party, it sounds fantastic!! Fireworks?! On a cruiseship? Oh Disney, how I love thee...!

Dilemma: what do lady pirates (piratesses?) wear? Or should I just embrace the opportunity to wear a false 'tache? pirate:

The booty for being a return cruiser sounds FAB! Better start saving for the next trip..

I'm up for it - providing I can do justice to some of the marvellous outfits seen online! And I have to get a fake parrot... pirate:

Just checking out my countdown timer and giving a wave :wave2: to our small group of cruisers!

Unknown what we'll do for pirate night for dress up. Will keep my eyes open over the next three months. In past halloweens had tried to talk DD into being a pirate but NOOO. She's been Jedi, Spiderman, Batman and Ninja but no pirate. You can tell my DD is not the princess type at all!

Anyway, back to work

Sharon

I don't think I will dress up maybe I'm wear a tropical shirt. We have requested for late dinning so I don't quite know how much time we will have to get ready. However my DS7 was a pirate for Halloween last Oct. and he loved being a pirate he wore his outfit a week before Halloween so he may dress up.

Time is getting closer.
Debbie

Hi Debbie

Your late seating for dinner is usually about 8pm (I think), and from what I've read the Pirate Night starts around 9.45/10pm, so hopefully you shouldn't miss anything. We have got the early seating for dinner (6pm), what time is everyone else dining?

I saw some pirate outfits today that look okay, so maybe we'll get some.
