I agree! I recently read a post from someone who had the opinion that their trip should only be for their immediate family, and why would anyone want to take extended family on their trip? I respect their opinion, but I look at it this way: My extended family IS my family. I love spending time with them. It doesn't get much better than riding Rock 'N' Rollercoaster with my brother with us both laughing hysterically so tears are running down our faces. It brought back the old days where we rode all the rides together at Geauga Lake and Cedar Point. My family gets equal enjoyment out of spending the time with my kids, and I have equal enjoyment to spending the time with my niece and nephew, and go out of my way to make it special for them. I keep wanting to take a trip with just the hubby and I, but every time I think about doing it I realize the kids are only going to be with us for a short time. People are already confusing my daughters with adults (My brother was really irritated today when my daughter was sitting with us at church and he thought it was an adult stranger sitting with us. He gave me a dirty look like it was my fault she was growing up!It was pretty funny.). So anyway, I love doing the big group thing, and hope to keep doing it even as the kids grow up, leave the nest, and start families of their own. My plan is to get 5 trips a year to Disney by each of my kids taking me once a year when they are older and married! I am investing in my own future by taking the kids now, right?
