I agree! I recently read a post from someone who had the opinion that their trip should only be for their immediate family, and why would anyone want to take extended family on their trip? I respect their opinion, but I look at it this way: My extended family IS my family. I love spending time with them. It doesn't get much better than riding Rock 'N' Rollercoaster with my brother with us both laughing hysterically so tears are running down our faces. It brought back the old days where we rode all the rides together at Geauga Lake and Cedar Point. My family gets equal enjoyment out of spending the time with my kids, and I have equal enjoyment to spending the time with my niece and nephew, and go out of my way to make it special for them. I keep wanting to take a trip with just the hubby and I, but every time I think about doing it I realize the kids are only going to be with us for a short time. People are already confusing my daughters with adults (My brother was really irritated today when my daughter was sitting with us at church and he thought it was an adult stranger sitting with us. He gave me a dirty look like it was my fault she was growing up!:confused3 It was pretty funny.). So anyway, I love doing the big group thing, and hope to keep doing it even as the kids grow up, leave the nest, and start families of their own. My plan is to get 5 trips a year to Disney by each of my kids taking me once a year when they are older and married! I am investing in my own future by taking the kids now, right?

Wow, I just realized how late Im responding to this. I swear I just commented on here like 2 days ago:lmao:

Love how you put this! You are so right! I come from a family where my cousins are like siblings to me and I get to see them all the time, same with my aunts and uncles. My whole family is extremely close and I cant imagine going on vacation without them! I have been to WDW with my cousins 10 times, I would never not want to go with them!

I don't know why you bother planning, sheesh.. traveling on the whims of your entire party is the only way to do it ;)

I LOVE those linked Mickey/Minnies with the matching hats. Seriously love them.

Did you just glue paper over M&M tubes for the penny pressing canisters?

Yikes! Hope everyone is recovering!

Can't wait to hear about your (maybe modified) plans ;)

Enjoying your PTR so far! Your family sounds lovely! Can't wait to read more!

One thing at a time is definitely good! I like the idea to postpone the cruise. It spreads the Disney goodness out a little bit, and it will make you more comfortable. I usually get stressed out while planning, even though I love it. Eventually the feeling passes and I am happy again! Good vibes!

Sneaking in again after a little hiatus :goodvibes

DH and I have cruised without kids, and I totally vote to wait and go a different time. 3 days is NOT long enough to fully enjoy yourself on a cruise. The first day you are unpacking and getting settled and finding your way around the ship, then you have 2 ports and the last day you have to pack up. My vote is to wait and take a 7 day later. We actually cruise RCL or Princess so we can cruise 9 nights because even the 7 nighters aren't long enough for us :rotfl:
