12/9/06 DISGeek DD Trip Report

Last photo for now.

We had started Weight Watchers several weeks before the cruise. It was not necessarily for the cruise but to start a healthier lifestyle. During our vacation I lost a pound and my wife lost over 2 pounds. You can enjoy eating on a cruise and still not go overboard (pun intended).

The photo shows me in my tux which I could not wear this past summer. My goal for the next cruise is to have to take it up some.

ps: note the Mickey cumber bun

Just posted for the first time on the DIS today, and stumbled upon your report.

Thanks for sharing your adventures with us! I don't have kids, and wouldn't be traveling with them, so it's nice to see that "grownups" can have fun on a DC too! I've never been on a Disney Cruise, but I think it would be a LOT of fun. I'm going to try and convince my friend to take one sometime in the future (we both love to travel, are kids at heart and have had TONS of fun on past Disney trips!:thumbsup2 ). Keep the adventures coming!

It sounds like you would be perfect DCL passengers! DH and I also cruise without kids often, although sometimes we take a grandkid or two. ;)

A few more pages for today.

We have been Castaway Club members for awhile and the return parties have grown each time. The first year it was just a small section on deck 10 for a hand full of people. This year we entertained the thought of not going to it but did anyway. They had to spread people out of Rockin' Bar D into the other bar with a video link.

It was a bit better in some ways and not better in other ways. Annette did win one of the cool Castaway Club clocks! She gave it to me and I put it on my desk at work.

I thought the logo was pretty cool and will use it in our scrapbook.

This was the first cruise that I have seen Turk. She was walking down Deck 9 near the Mickey pool. Annette and I had stopped for an ice cream from Goofy's Galley.

I think she started the pose but it was cool so I did like wise.

One of my missions this trip was to have a picture taken with Belle in her Christmas dress. I was pleased to see her outside the shops one night and again I stood in line with the kids. They were surprised when I went up to her without a child. Silly kids!

Each of our cruises we have had a picture taken with Mickey and Minnie in their cruise costumes. So here we are again.

I am not sure how much Annette likes this picture taking business but she puts up with it.

I am an early riser on board ship. Each morning I am up before the sun for coffee and pictures. This was taken around 6AM:

The big screen is really a great addition to the Magic. I wished we had watched more of the movies at night there.

Of course they had to have some ads on it as well! This too was early that morning. You don't want to forget the drink of the day .....
.... even at 6AM!

More to come soon ..... including Pirate night!

I'm loving the report, Brack! I think I was the first to scare Annette in the terminal.... she was in line by herself and I went up and introduced myself and said "You're Annette, right?"

If anyone questions whether photos have heart and convey so much they have never seen yours. I love your trip report thus far Brack. MORE MORE!!! I was the sneak in line at the lifeboat drill - teehee that was so FUNNY!
Annette is awesome(so are you)! She and Missy got me up at Pirate Night.

I'm enjoying your reporting style greatly! Can't wait to read more...;)

Brack, you are great! :goodvibes What a fun trippie you have going on here :flower3:

I am not married nor do I have children but I love to see the characters as well. I prefer the character meals over standing in line with the kiddies but I get to see them all the same :thumbsup2

Keep up the good work :goodvibes

One of our goals for this cruise was to do it differently than we had before. We had been ashore in Cozumel before so this time we decided to stay onboard for the ports except Castaway Cay.

Our days in the two Mexican ports were dreary to be kind so staying onboard was a good choice for us. This is the view from the ship. A word of note about this shot: I brightened it because it was really dark from the rain that day. The waves were really pounding the shore.

I know that our DIS friends had a good time ashore but this was really a good time for us to relax.
