12/6/08 Eastern ~ ***CURRENT ROSTER pg 68, post # 1007!

Okay, on another thread, they mentioned doing a meet-n-greet in the Promenade Lounge at 3 pm, followed by a picture in the atrium.

Any thoughts there?

:thanks:

ME TOO!! I am SO ready to go NOW!! Is it time yet?

WDW & MVMCP First... Magic at the Wilderness Lodge... Then Magic on the Magic! pixiedust:

WISHING FOR AN UPGRADE! :smickey: :tinker: :sail: :santa: pixiedust:

We're at 15 days today!! :cool1: :cool1: Can't wait. Hope everyone has a great Veteran's Day today! :earboy2:

We have 16 more days until we board the jet. :cool1: We are one day behind Alaskanmommy and her family. Unfortunately our original flights were canceled and when we tried to rebook we were unable to fly out with them. Bummer but we will catch up with them on Friday the 28th!!

Ditto on the Veteran's Day...thanks to all who have, do and will serve!!

Happy Birthday Disney Girl!! :bday: :bday: Yours is just a few weeks before mine, I'm celebrating my actual birthday on the Magic!! :woohoo: Mickey here we come.................::MickeyMo !!!!!

23 days!!!!!
Count my DH and myself as Birthday:cake: kids, too! His is the 15th and mine is the 18th! When we made our final payment our TA was on the phone to Disney to confirm the payment and the Disney lady said that since our birthdays were within 10 days of the cruise that Disney does something special. She wanted to know what day we would like to celebrate so I chose Tuesday. I can hardly wait to see what happens.
Also, today I ordered both the Birthday Celebration and the Bon Voyage Celebration. They will be delivered to the stateroom. I may have "way too much" cake and might need some help to eat it....any takers?
I did look at the Holiday Treats and agreed that they looked too expensive. The Christmas tree was cute but the only thing you would be able to take home was 1 MM Icon ornament!
Another thing I did today was to notify my credit card company that I would be out of the country. I read somewhere that that is a good thing to do so it would not be frozen if any charges showed up. The agent said that it was a prudent thing to do. Just another tip......
Hope everyone has a Magical Mickey:mickeyjum Day! LDprincess:

Since we are getting close, and some of the group are leaving within 15 days. I am thinking we should make our final arrangements as far as meet and greets go probably within the next week. Once people start leaving they may not have a chance to check the boards just prior.

I myself am fine to do any of the pictures and any of the meet and greets.

NAB suggests we meet up just prior to the sail away party.

Princssdisnygina suggests a picture by the Walt Disney Theatre at about
5:30pm

Bubbasmom99 suggests a picture at 3:15pm on embarkation day and one at 7:45 pm on Formal night. An angled shot across the Atrium.
Also suggets a meet-n-greet in the Promenade lounge at 3pm.

I like this idea. We will have time to start meeting people at 3pm as they get on the ship and get settled, then we can have the picture and be done in time to muster to our stations. I also like the idea between the meals, but does this allow enough time for everyone to get there?

So what does everyone think, 3pm at the Promenade Lounge and 7:45 on Deck 5 in the atrium?

Any other hang out suggestions?

I am cool with the one on embarkation day... but I think the one in the atrium will be quite the challenge with all the picture taking with characters going on. But if you think we can get in there I am all for it! :wizard:

We are doing the 20 Day Dance! :dance3: Tomorrow we will be in the teens!

I will have to admit that DH and I can't guarantee we'll be able to meet up - it's finally our honeymoon, albeit two years late (we've had to pay for everything ourselves), so time together is coming first.

That said, here's some more info on holiday cruises from AllEars:

Disney Cruise Line will kick off the holidays with special
Thanksgiving voyages: setting sail November 22 with a 7-night Western
Caribbean cruise on the Disney Magic, and on November 26 with a
4-night Bahamian cruise onboard the Disney Wonder. Cruisers will enjoy
a sumptuous Thanksgiving Day feast with Mickey, Minnie and friends
dressed in traditional Thanksgiving attire. Activities throughout the
day include holiday crafts for youngsters and the big NFL football
games broadcast live on Ariel View Television, the 24-by-14-foot
screen located above the Goofy Family Pool on deck 9.

The Cruise Line will continue to host numerous onboard holiday events
from Thanksgiving and continuing through to the new year on both the
Disney Wonder and the Disney Magic, beginning November 22:

-- nightly "King Triton's Tree Lighting" in the atrium lobby, where a
young guest will help Disney characters light the glittering,
three-deck-tall tree.
-- an afternoon Tropical Pool Party every day with Santa and Mrs.
Claus. Plenty of Disney characters join the celebration, including
Lilo and Stitch, Chip and Dale, Mickey and Minnie, Goofy and Pluto. Be
sure not to miss the "Winter-Sunnyland" conga line around the pool.
-- special family time with holiday crafts, such as decorating
stockings, making holiday cards and creating holiday animation cells.
-- holiday storytellers sharing tales of diverse holiday traditions,
from Hanukkah and Kwaanza to the Bahamian Junkanoo, plus, an all-new
story just for Disney Cruise Line guests about the magical feeling of
the holidays on a ship.
-- traditional holiday feasts in Disney's three themed dining rooms.
-- " 'Til We Meet Again," a special holiday edition of Disney Cruise
Line's farewell on the final night of each cruise, with Disney
characters and the ship's crew in a musical finale led by Mickey
Mouse.

For cruises that put in at Castaway Cay during the holiday period:

-- "snow flurries," decked-out Christmas trees, Disney character
meet-and-greets and holiday carolers.
-- holiday-themed activities, such as making candy cane reindeer,
paper plate angels and snowflake mobiles.

The Disney Magic will host a 7-Night Holiday Caribbean Cruise
departing December 20, with visits to Cozumel, Grand Cayman and, as a
special holiday treat, two stops at Castaway Cay. The Disney Wonder
4-night Christmas cruise departs December 24, with visits to Nassau
and Castaway Cay. On Christmas morning at the lobby tree, Santa Claus
and his elves will have surprises for all the kids, along with cookies
and milk. Guests can attend sunset Hanukkah services and Christmas
services, including midnight mass on Christmas Eve.

To celebrate the new year, Disney Magic departs on its 7-night Western
Caribbean itinerary December 27; Disney Wonder departs December 31 for
its 4-night cruise. These voyages will feature a special New Year's
Eve party to ring in 2009, complete with DJ music, sparkling wine in
commemorative flutes, confetti and balloon drop, and a midnight
countdown.

Time is going to fast . I keep running list though my head of things I have to do before we leave and what we need to pack. Kids school stuff is getting in my way too.

Not sure about the formal picture since I am sure I will be one of the long line to get my family picture with one of the backgrounds in the lobby. Pictures is one thing I do love on the boat.

The 3pm one in the Promenade sound good too.Hopefully everyone will be on by then.

But I agree we should get a time soon.

Happy belated Birthday to Disney Girl! :cheer2:

Okay, let's ditch the formal night idea. I think many of us will be in line for the ship's photographers... I almost forgot how long the lines get. It was horrible last time.... stretched all the way past the windows of Lumiere's on formal night. Wait was almost an hour, I think!

Is there anyone NOT planning to be aboard and semi-settled-in by 3 pm on embarkation day?

My daughter has last year's cruise planning DVD in her room and she dragged it out yesterday and wanted to watch it. My kids and I were camped out on the bed clicking through every one of the links.... it was soooo exciting to get geared up.

My daughter was getting freaked out about snorkeling until I told her that she gets to wear a floatie, and then she was like "oh, OKAY! I LIKE IT!"

She sent a pen pal PM back to taxtrackers's DGD Adriana and we went over the list of DisKids and she was so excited to find so many girls in her age group :) Then I told my son about mgrande's son being into Pokemon and he was totally excited too. I live for this kind of stuff :) The looks on their faces!

I am working on my packing list now... I have the big giant list from the Passporter and I am going through it crossing off what I don't need, and then will start checking off from there.

If I can get my act together and figure out what we're wearing on embarkation day, then I will let you know so you can find us easier in the terminal. Last time we all wore matching navy blue Mickey polos but I am not sure we all know where they are, plus they don't fit my kids anymore.... maybe I will get t-shirts from Disney store.... or maybe I will finally tie-dye a Mickey shirt.... that would be visible, wouldn't it?

Greetings,

  We've shopped the after Halloween sales for pirate costumes, got the door/room decorations organized, now have Adriana's passport, made the flight/car rental/hotel reservations and bought the new cruise clothes!

DGD (5) is interested in sending/receiving emails from some other young cruisers. She's shy and is afraid she won't have any friends. When I took DGS on his Disney transatlantic cruise, he emailed several other young cruisers and felt like he had some new friends before we left, friends that he still emails 18 months later. So if you have a young cruise, our email address is taxtracker@aol.com (i'm a tax accountant)

thanks and we look forward to meeting you all!

Hi Taxtracker,

I have finally gotten DD email set up. Can you give me your DGD name and I will be happy to start sending the emails? Feel free to PM me if you are not comfortable in posting her name. Thank you

SO... remember that UPS link someone gave several posts back to see if the docs had been sent? I checked it today... and it says they were sent to my travel agent a couple of weeks ago! That is assuming this is accurate? But the address matches my TA. Anyone else checked theirs?

Adriana would love to get email -- she has also received an email from Sarah and was excited (her very first email, ever). You could send the email as a private email through disboards or to me at taxtracker@aol.com. I tried to set her up with her own email address (perhaps the isp's have age restrictions?)

thanks,
taxtracker@aol.com:bride:
