12/24/08 Christmas Cruise on the Wonder

Adrianna ... we are in stateroom 7514. Wasn't quite ready to do a deck with the kids, but wanted a big porthole for the view. Arianna is all attitude and I know she would be trying to climb off the ship every chance she got!

Hey Courtney, that's up in your neck of the woods, right? You guys will be neighbors.

Yep. We are in 7543 near the stairs and elevators. But we are on the inside. Would have loved a porthole or verandah but it wasn't in the cards this time. Besides....leaves me more money for excursions and rum cake!!!

Adriana....that Blue Sugar sounds delicious. It would probably make me weak in the knees too. Tell DH not to wear it around me. :lmao: DD has one called Pink Sugar. Smells like cotton candy. Probably the same company. Years ago she wanted a real perfume not some kid thing and the best I could come up with was that one. Real perfume bottle and have to buy it at Sephora (love that place) or any other department store, little girl smell. It's great.

I am so tired and hate my allergies.......

Hope your eye is feeling better. Can you switch out the piercings or will it close if you try?

Adrianna

Yes I can switch the earring out in 6 months. At that time I will buy a nice gold hoop something that is a little softer looking:goodvibes

Hmmm... okay in candles I like smells that are only meant to smell like one note. For example, if it has a name like "Fresh Laundry" or "Night Sky" they always smell chemical to me. I like the citruses and plumeria, cinnamon in the fall and pine in the winter.

My all time favorite scent is bergamot, though. It is what gives Earl Grey tea it's yummy scent. It is actually a little tiny orange-like fruit that is used as an undertone in a lot of men's colognes.

Now thinking of colognes-for Christmas last year, I bought my husband the coolest thing for Christmas. At Sephora, for $50 you could buy a box with 10 deluxe sized men's cologne samples and the box included a gift certificate that could be redeemed for a full sized bottle of his favorite. We took the box on our Disney Cruise and he wore a different on every night. Our favorite was Blue Sugar, which I swear smells like caramel, licorice and baby powder, but it makes me weak in the knees.

Adrianna

Anything rose or lilac:goodvibes

Today I had my tattoo consultation. I am getting it June 26 the day after my 42nd birthday! It will take 3-4 hours to complete!

Okay...here is a little poll. I was sniffing some candles while waiting for DD's driver's ed class to finish. I remember a couple of years ago there was a study that was done in regards to smells that men and women liked. Thought I would do my own.

What smells/fragrance do you find most appealing or welcoming or whatever?

In candles, I like nature or fruit (but not to sweet)scents in spring and summer. My favorites are apple, melon, and lemon grass. Fall and winter I like spice scents. My favorites are apple pie,and pumpkin spice. Most baked goods scents are too sweet smelling for me.
Mens Colonge. I don't change Dale's very often. I like it when he has his very own personal scent. For many many years it was Quorum by Puig.Talk about weak in the knees!::yes:: A couple years ago the stores stopped stocking it. Last year on our Thanksgiving cruise, we were checking out the perfume store onboad, and he tried the Armani Code. He liked it,and I liked it,so that is what he is wearing now. I wear Rapture from Victoria's Secret. About the only thing I can wear from there:lmao: I love it. It's a very romantic scent but isn't too strong, and lasts all day. I bought a bottle of Armani Code for women last year. I like it, But not as much as Rapture.

Adrianna, that Sample box and coupon sounds awesome. Did you get it online? We don't have a Sephora store here....do we?:confused3 I mean I would hate myself if I've been missing out on something wonderful :rotfl2:

Brenda ... I didn't book my cruise quite as early as you, but we did book it almost a year ago. Just took me a while to stop snooping and start posting :) I can't wait to see my son react to seeing the actual ship ... I think he'll say ... Wow ... it's beautiful! That's how he reacts to everything amazing.

Oh are you in for a treat! As you approach the port, you can't see anything. Then all of a sudden, you top the hill, and there sits the Wonder in all her glory. :worship: Of course now you will also have a birds eye view of the Mariner docked right next door

So there we were, at Keller Fest (we live in Keller), and they were doing a special Salute Our Troops thing complete with Huey's, Apache Longbow, active military in uniform, DD's high school JROTC reenacting planting the flag on IwoJima, T38 flying 500 ft above our heads ::yes:: (my personal fave), and a double amputee paratrooper dropping from the sky right in front of us. Last place I would expect to see Captain Jack, but there he was. He was almost a spitting image of Johnny Depp. He had the mannerisms, facial gestures, and walk down. Of course, DD didn't think he was close enough. She's such a critic. Check out the pic.

Close enough for me. I'll have to have Lindsey take a look. She is in love with Johnny Depp. :lovestruc

Another thing the girls have in common. She is almost a stalker. Thank goodness we don't live in France or she would be.

She drove for the first time today. With me. Next time I will have a drink first....::yes::

Mmmm... lemongrass. Makes me hungry for Thai. Boy, that is hat I miss about the Pacific NW. Thai, Ethiopian, Lebanese... real ethnic restauants.

Yes, I got them online, but they did have the kits in the Sephora store at Penn Square Mall in OKC. I got the women's version for my sister and it was a huge hit. The only catch is that it is not a Sephora gift certificate per se, so it can only be used for a full size of one of the fragrances in the box and it has to be redeemed in an actual store, not online.

Boy Brenda, you never forget your first time, do ya? ;) I was just thinking about that... cresting the hill and then all of the sudden... there it is!!!

How fun! I meant to ask you about that veteran of the day. Do you just have to be the first person to show up at guest services that day and ask? Is it only in the MK?

A

 Do a little dance, make a little love, get down tonight. Get down tonight. Get down, get down, get down, get down, get down... get fun-kay.

I was having a KC and the Sunshine Band moment. Just thought I'd share.

Believe it or not that has to do with my lesson for VBS... I just have to find a more church friendly song with a similar beat. Maybe "shake, shake, shake... shake, shake, shake... shake your boo-tay". Just can't get KC and the Sunshine Band outa my mind.

Yes, it is only at MK. It helps to be the first person to show up. There are usually a few that sign up, I believe. They will check the book and see if anyone has already signed up, take your info (make sure to have a cell phone on you), and will call you some time during the day to give you details. There are times when someone who signed up first can't do it. If you are staying onsite, which you are, use the magic hours to your advantage and get in there first thing. It really is something to remember.

I wanna go to your VBS. DS, Carter, used to sing shake shake shake and actually turn around and do it. As a toddler and up to 6 or 7 years old. Too cute!!

Let's see...

Yes Andy = Andymanga
Yes the GA means I live in Georgia

We're in 7008 I think.

Stupid question segment:
So are you worried that people will steal your FE or the stuff in it? Will I be the only adult dressed as a pirate for the Pirate Party? Do they sell the adult mickey ear pirate hats onboard or is that something I would have to get from DW/L or Ebay?
