12/19 Wonder Anyone coming???

If your DD likes to, Nat will email her. (Since they're both only children, they can bond!!!)

Kaila is in Arizona right now with Grandma and Grandpa. But I'm sure that when she gets back she would love to email your daughter!

We seem to have a nice group of kids in the 10-12 year old group on this cruise. I hope we can do a Dis Meet the first day and let the kids meet before they go to the lab that night. I sounds like the lab is going to be VERY full because the ship is basically sold out (according to the Disney website). It would be nice for them to meet in a smaller setting before being in the larger group setting.

That's what we heard. Hey, do you know if you get a discount if you book your next cruise while on your cruise?:scratchin [/B]

Yes there is a nice discount if you rebook while on board. Even if your not sure when you want to go the next time, you can pick a week while on board (to get the discount) and then change which week if needed.

Also, if anyone out there is a member of AAA, they are having a special this week--through Saturday--if you switch your reservation over to them, they will give you an additional $50-$100 off the price of the cruise. They determine the discount by how much the cruise costs. We are getting 2 cabins (cat 10) and we got $50 back for each. I saved $100. Just a thought for anyone out there. I did it yesterday for this cruise, and today I went back to do it for the repo cruise next year.

Not 'my' color either, but it is the DIS color. If you look in the DIS store they have lime green things for DIS member to buy and wear. Sometime when this group was young, this color was chosen, and this was WAY before my time.

It is funny though, I have heard that CMs recognize the lime green as being worn by DIS members. I guess we will see!

Thanks! I just thought it would be easier to see who is who! I will update it as more information is posted! Just remember it is on Lucky Page 7! I only wish we could get some more people to post to here! Surely there are more then 10 DIS families going! Come out! Come out! Where ever you are!

I bet more will come out of the woodwork starting is September or so when there are less than 100 days to go.

Just booked a flight for less than $150 each!!!!!!

I had accepted the fact that we would HAVE to drive in December to our cruise because everything I have checked so far has come to over $1000 for the four of us to fly. I figured with the holiday time, it would be hopeless!

Then someone posted that Southwest has their reservations up through the holiday season, and I checked, and it was alright, but then I checked Travelocity and was able to get a flight on Northwest Airlines from Indy to Orlando on Fri. 12/17 and back from Orlando to Indy on 12/23 for the four of us for $567!

So DH and I are giving ourselves a Christmas present and he booked us on that flight! We were afraid to wait because it may only be for a short time before the prices go up (who knows).

Anyway, I am dancing in our family room right now! No 17 hour drive EACH way for us at Christmas time!

YEAH!!!!!:Pinkbounc

Hey DJ,

Almost wish we could get a good flight -- even 9 1/2 hours of driving seems a lot! I've been checking airlines and it's over $350 each. Ouch! (The good point is we can bring pillows and other things like that if we drive.)

Still have the Radisson for $97 the night before -- with no breakfast, but I think we can get a decent meal elsewhere.

CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!

d

Have you looked this weekend? I just got this rate this weekend.

Do you have a Southwest Airlines there? They now have their dates up through our cruise, and they have good rates.

I have a 'goal' of $150 round trip for each of us, and if we can do that, then it is worth flying.

I would think from Atlanta you might be able to find something. Check Travelocity.com and Southwest.com; you may be surprised (we sure were!).

DJ

It's pretty much Delta country here and a direct (because having stops is nuts!) flight is over $335! I keep looking, but...

Nat's school starts NEXT week! ARG! The summer went by so fast!

d

That's too bad. Well at least you can make it within a day's drive. We wouldn't fly at all if we were that close. I prefer to drive if it is only a day away. Two days in the van is a bit much.

We start school tomorrow (we homeschool). Our public schools still have 3 weeks before they start. We start early because we take off 1 1/2 weeks in September for our fall vacation.

We just finished a week of Girl Scout camp and tomorrow night we start a week of vacation bible school. That always marks the 'end' of summer for us. It goes by SO fast.

I don't know if I told you (I bet Nat didn't tell Michelle), that she was a finalist in the County Swim Championships. Came in 6th, 2 7th and one 10th. I was terribly proud!

Then, she had a week of theatre camp and we just got back from a weekend in NC with my mother. I'm trying to get her lined up with friends this week...

Dec. can't come fast enough!

I wouldn't mind the drive, but I don't do much of it! It gets old pretty fast! We have gotten to DW in 7 1/2 hours from here tho!

I'll still keep an eye out for good airfares, but with the added security, parking the car, etc., it takes almost as long!

Did I tell you we're doing the REAs? DH doesn't know.

That's great! I bet she was pretty excited!

You can let us know what you think of it. Sounds like a lot of people have been very happy with it.

Right now, our minds are on our September 18th DCL. December sounds SO far away. We are REALLY looking forward to it now that we know we get to fly instead of drive.

After this year, we are 'cutting back' to one trip a year to Disney/DCL. That way we should be able to fly. Having two cruises in one year is really harsh on our bank account, and if it were not the chance to do a 'Christmas Cruise' and see all the decorations, we wouldn't be doing it. I bet the ship will be beautiful!

DJ

Congrats to Nat! She should be proud of herself! I can see your face beaming, Mom! :sunny:
DJ, Congrats on those flight rates! I would be flying if we could get those rates too! I will be doing some searching today!
Our school starts August 26th. This week the boys have karate camp in the morning of Weds, Thurs and Friday and they are doing their second Vacation Bible School in the evenings! It's going to be a busy week for us!
Off to search for flights!

Edit to say.....no cheap flights for us! All are near $300 still, and that's flying out of Charleston, WV or Cleveland, OH. Bummer. Oh well, driving will save us money on a rental, we'll be able to pack more, and have more spending money! WHOO HOO!!!

We're proud of Nat! Can you believe it? School starts for her next week! ARG! We will REALLY need the cruise in Dec.!

No good airfares for us -- I'll keep looking, but we're pretty resigned to driving (and being able to bring pillows, etc.)

Hello everyone! Thanks for making a list. My daughter's name is Elizabeth and we are doing the early seating.

I have been away for a little while and enjoyed catching up on the thread. I had a couple of weeks when dh wanted to back out of the cruise (don't hold it against him) but now we are definately going and got good airfares booked from Southwest with good times nonstop. I am relieved about that since Delta was not affordable for this trip and has gone up quite a bit at all times of the year in our area.

Elizabeth is not very good at emailing but I bet as the trip gets closer she will start emailing Nat again.

JRLINK3: We are also going to MVMCP on the 16th and eating at LTT at 5:35. What time are your priority seatings?

It seems like most everyone is doing the late seatings for the cruise. Maybe a couple people will switch to early.:D

Count us in for the meet. :D
