Did you figure out transportation? You can try calling Avis, Alamo, Enterprise. My friend told me there is one rental place that has an office next to the port or close to it where you can drop off the car. I would call around and inquire if I were you. This friend had the same situation as you. It seems if you just wanted it for a day you could save yourself some $$$$. Hope that helps.

Leslie,,,,, thanks. I was looking at Dollar today and used a discount code that got us a lot off earlier in the year. OMG!!!!! The prices of rental at that time of year are unreal!!!!!! Minivan $171 for one day. For nine days,,, 700. For a larger van , nine days was $1100. It must be Christmas. Bill

Wow that is so expensive. I booked a Dollar Jeep through a site over here and have paid around $35 per day.

Does anyone know if we have a special Xmas dinner? What is traditional for you to have, is it turkey like us?

PS Bill I think you need to control those DB now or I'm afraid they may multiply as it gets nearer to the cruise!

I believe there is a special Christmas menu. We sailed the Wonder last year for Thanksgiving and we had a special menu. I found some old Christmas menus from 2003 and 2004. I'm not sure if I can link to them (I think the site might be blocked, but I'll give it a shot).

Hey everyone! Glad to see some of you came by to say hello before the weekend begins!

Robyn, all I can say is I've been there and done that...I know it is a lot of hard work. You will truly deserve this vacation when the time comes, if not sooner!

Tina, I hope your DD starts feeling better soon. Lots of icky stuff going around right now. I had an appt. at DD's pediatrician today to get her the seasonal flu shot and they called about 2 hours before her appt. and said they ran out and not to bother to come! Huh, what?! I guess I figured since I made an appointment they actually would have reserved one for her but that is not the way they did it. So we were scrambling this afternoon to find a Minute Clinic that even had the shots. Ended up making it a play date with 2 other friends and we all went together to get our shots...and then of course some ice cream

Francine, can't wait to see your FE gift! Some of you are so creative I wish I had the same talent to make something but if I did I don't think any of you would want it. LOL

Bill, as always, reading your posts makes me laugh! And glad to see the dancing bananas have put on their "boogie shoes" for a big Friday night! Ha.

Oh, my county's got fall break next week. So while the kids have vacation, I have a wedding (next Sunday). I'm not sure what'll diminish my sanity sooner- the stress from getting married, or having to write a full IEP, do an IEP amendment so a student can be evaluated for a sensory disorder, and still manage to write lesson plans and not get sick!

Now I have to wonder...should I use my mileage reimbursement money on a massage?

It is so funny how these schools work. The last Monday/Tuesday of September, my Jr High son had Fall Break (just 2 days). The following week, my Elementary school sonhad a whole week for Fall Break. And you guys are just going into Fall Break. It is a pain here that the schools are not in sync and so the breaks are all over the place and not at the same time. And they schools wonder why some people pull kids out of school. We decided to fly to MCO on the Friday before we sail. My Elementary son did not want to miss a day of school (Jr High would already off). I tried to work it for him, but I just couldn't. Sadly, he wont get his perfect attendance this year. That perfect attendance thing for the schools bothers me too. If my kids shows any signs of being sick, I want him to stay home. Usually if we catch it early, it doesnt get to serious and he recovers very quickly. Others send their kids and therefore, um, who else gets infected.

On a side note, those DB's must be sleeping this morning.

working 7 days a week and going to school full time leaves little time for the boards ! sorry i've been MIA... i have however been planning (when I need a break from grading papers...) and am sooooooooo excited for this trip!!!!
