12/16/06 10-day holiday cruise Part 4

No, no spring break trips for us this year. Probably going to spend a few days in Georgia with my dad in June (and stopping to see Sherrena, Dave and the boys), then DL in August. I am trying to book air, have package reserved, will pay off when we get our tax check.

Robin, I didn't have time to read that thread but saw it on the CB. I'm glad I didn't, that kind of talk bothers me.

Patrick (16) has known kids whose parents let them drink since he was about 14. I can say we haven't done that, nor would we. Any "cheating" I would agree to would be much older. And I could make an argument that it isn't cheating at that point if they don't buy it, drink it in public, or drive under the influence. Like I said, they have to be old enough to get "gray" and we're not there.

Kat, I think you'll have a good time in Southern Cal in August. You can easily do Beverly Hills, Santa Monica and Hollywood in one day...but you wouldn't want to do a lot more! Do some research on those places. Don't bother to go on a tour of Stars' homes...with parapazzi being what they are, the stars have done all they can to make sure you can't see much from outside the gates any more. We did do a tour a couple of years ago where we went to Hollywood, Beverly Hills, saw some of the studios, and some of the homes of old Hollywood Stars like Lucille Ball and Jack Benny (they were next door neighbors!)

Hello everyone
Looks like no one has been around for awhile WE are off to DL tomorrow and return on Thursday. Have heared it is mega crowded because of spring Break but that's okay at least I'll be with the Mouse

Everything here is going well and my niece has blended in quit nicely...she gets a little boared at times but she has made a good friend that I approve of.

So who else has something planned for Spring Break WEll I will touch base when we get back and give you a trip report....so till than have a blesses day today and everyday

well everyone must be very bz, the boards are very quiet this week..
robin hope you are having a ball..
yesterday on the travel chanel thy had disney all day..every park every hotel..all kinds of disney specials, even the cruise..i did get home sick for the cruise..
well as for spring break i went to ocean city md for the weekend last weekend..stayed at hilton hotel on beach ..it was wonderful..not disney but nice..
and at end of mnth i am leaving for 10 days at disney world..cant wait.. im on the food plan, so i wll be at disney all the time!!!
on tht tv special abt disney they talkd about a secret disney club tht they said was hard to get into..club 33..
how do you join..and why is it hard to get in?? does anyone belong to it?? or know abt it??

Hi Joanie,

Club 33 is a private members only club. It's located in New Orleans Square. It's a little door to the right of the Blue Bayou. You need to know a member to get into it. It's the only place in the park you can get real liquor!! Watch out the Mint Juleps carry quite a wallop! The waiting list to become a member is years long and it costs quite a lot to join.

I've been several times. We have a friend who is a member and he puts our name on a list and we can go in. The service is impecable and the food very nice.

Hi Joanie,

I think if you contact Disneyland they can send you an application. Disney World does not have one. I guess they figure with so many other things going on there it isn't needed. I think the club got it's name because initially there were 33 members that were vendors of Disneyland, but I could be wrong, and it grew from there.

Yup, so looking forward to another cruise we are signed up for three at the moment!! Doing a med repo back to Florida, DVC member cruise and the Repo Panama back to Florida.

Gotta admit the holiday cruise will be hard to beat, it was just so much fun sharing our holiday with so many people. My fondest memory is Christmas eve up in the Cove Cafe toasting the holiday with crew and guests. It was so special.

My DD loved running up to the stocking on the door and finding all the goodies, our family is small, my parents are gone and DH and I are singletons. So being on the ship made it extra special for us, we don't normally have such a celebration. I can understand how it would be hard to be away from family though, you're very lucky. Take care too.

Well glad to here your trip was a sucsess and wish I was going to WDW for 10 days at the end of the month
No I am not familure with the "Secret Disney Club"? will have to do some searching on this board and see about what it is

Our 3 day trip to Disneyland( 1 night DDT, 2 days parks) started out good and than went sour first day in the park. Michael got a bug of some sort and was throwing up at bad sore throat, neck pain and fever. He spent 2 days in the Hotel in bed. He came out yesterday feeling a little better, nausea gone and fever seemed to go away but after about 90 minutes had to go back to the bed. O'yea and IT WAS SOOOOOO CROWDED!!!!!

Branden went to the park first day and stayed in the room the second all day and night long. I got pissed at him but it did give me a chance to go to the parks with my niece and call the room every hr to see if anyone wanted to come out. O' well at least I had my fix

We stayed at the GrandCalifornian and it is a beautiful Hotel Branden said he liked it so much that he senjoyed hanging in the room drawing, listening to his IPOD and watching movies on the large LCD screen.

We had a great veiw and cant wait to stay there again. If they make DVC villas there we will be sure to buy some.

So as for the trip I must add....I LOVE DISNEY !!!! but you all arlready new that right

I talked to Dee recently! She is ok but feeling a bit down because the ex is being a real a**. She and Keith are going to WDW in late August. She says she is doing some extra work as a travel agent right now so if anyone needs one contact her!

Hi everyone!

Just checking in...we've been away on Spring break, so when I checked the boards upon return, of course I had to check on y'all. We had a great time, but as we returned driving North, a cold front was headed South! Talk about a shock...from 80 to 40 in one day! Oh well, it won't last long.

Robin, sorry DS got sick. That happened to me once at Epcot...never have felt the same about the restaurant in Mexico...

I'll touch base more later, gotta go oversee the unpacking!

The Camelot is the hotel that looks like a castle right? If so that is a cool hotel. As far as Dee goes if we do want to use her as a TA how o we get intouch with her?

We may be going back in August also before the kids go back to school. When are you going? If not in Aug it will be end of July.

My niece had a good time. She has not been to WDW in about 6 years and never to DL. She is doing good in school and has joined the 24 hr fitness and is assistant coaching Michaels Socoor team. She has made a good friend and although there is no place like home(florida) she is okay.

She got a little upset yesterday because her sister told her that her Mom was taking her to Costa Rico for vacation. Morgan has always wanted to go but Mom would never take them. I think it would have been nice if my sister held off till the summer and took Morgan with them seeing that she is doing so well and took her to show her that she is proud of her.

But we are talking my sister here and she has no brains
Wish we could just take her on the cruise with us in 2008 but rooms are already booked and we are doing a back to back and cant afford to bring her. My sister will have to send her to see her dad if she is still here or take her somewhere.

Well that is my story and hope all is well. keep posting here cause hate to loose touch... till then

Our guys get out a bit earlier than that, but then they're back in school by the time you go to California too!

Haven't checked in for some time. I hope everyone is doing OK.

Robin - Stinks that your DS got sick. There is nothing worse than that happening while on vacation. I see your neice is still with you. How is she adjusting? Looks like DCL might be going to Alaska sometime 2011, 2012. Are you up for it? . I think we will probably do it. It's funny, because it is so expensive, I keep saying this is going to be my last DCL Cruise, but then when they keep coming out with these cool itineriaries, it's hard to say no . I'll just keep sending DH out to work more OT.

Joanie, are you and Robin still waiitng for those DVC points? If you guys haven't gotten them by now, I'd be hopping mad. Sometimes Disney can be annoying how they make their most loyal guests crazy.

Bronwen - how have you been? Our friends from England are on the Repo back to FL from the Med this summer. We were able to book the Eastbound Panama Repo along with some other 10 day cruisers. Hopefully we can meet up again. I agree - coming back to the cabin with all the special gifts on our holiday cruise was one of the things that made that cruise so special.

Hi Kat - How have you been? How is Sam doing? If you speak with Dee again, please tell her I said hi. Such a nice lady...I am sad to hear she is having a difficult time with the ex. One of my best, most relaxing memories of our cruise was hanging out with you, Dee & Alison all day at Castaway Cay. Just hanging and having girl chat.

Hey Sherenna- Where did you go for spring break? I heard Georgia has cold that has broken records 100 yrs old. It's crazy. We are colder for Easter 2007 than Christmas 2006. Our spring break in next week and we are heading to NYC. Hopefully it warms up by then.

Well just wanted to say "Hi" soooooo HI!!!! Kids start school on Monday, can't wait...wish Billie started school on Monday to he is driving me crazy.

Maybe I should just leave them all here and I will go to school...better yet I'll go to the movies

I think tonight I will dream of being single with no kids hanging out on a beautiful beach and staying at the 4 Seasons(because I am very Rich in my dream) in the Carribian with my best girl friends drinking Cocolocos and watching all the men go by and laughing...by the way my friends are also very rich anyone want to come along

Everyone is watching the 10 Commandments and I was going to watch also but Billie was being an *** so he ruined that for me.
