I have never done an air package with the cruise, but we are meeting my mom on board and she is 79 and coming in by air from Philadelphia.

I assume she goes down to baggage claim in Orlando and there will be someone with a DCL sign. Is that right? Do any of you know if she will have to carry her luggage or will they take care of that for her?

Wow, 12 days is not a long time at all :Pinkbounc :cool1: :woohoo:

I was reading on the DisBoards that Disney had one on the 11/25 Double Dip. I'm hoping it has no effect on us.

Yes I keep counting just like you. Yesterday while driving to Target I said to my husband "Two weeks we will be in Key West" :thumbsup2

I like to think of my vacation starting Thursday 12/14 afternoon as soon as I leave school for the day. :)

you don't have to do anything with your bags. as long as you put the tags on them that they sent with you they pick them up for you. after you check them the next time you see them will be at your room. as you're walking through the orlando airport you might see the magical express people. they'll tell you where to go. i can't remember where you will see them. i don't pay attention to them cause i know where to go. but she'll need to go to the B side of the airport (regardless of where they're telling her where to go for luggage). she'll want to go all the way to the first floor on the B side and go all the way down to the end and that's where you check in. but they'll be people there to direct you as well.

DH actually started packing his dive gear this morning! Unfortunately the clothes I need from him I probably won't get until the last minute because he wears them for class :( .

It was COLD this morning. High today is only supposed to be in the 30's and we had a dusting of snow. I just keep reminding myself that in two weeks we will be in the warmth and sunshine!

Yup, it was the Freedom of the Seas, the new BIG ship! But they think someone came on board with it. They can keep it, we don't want it!!

  :yay: :cheer2: :cool1:
Documents arrived via UPS at 10:20 a.m. today!!!!
:dancer: :dancer: :dancer: :dancer: :dancer:

Snow day today!!!! 6 inches of fluffy stuff!!

Inside the documents were specific directions (with a picture) of where you are to go to meet the DCL people (at the airport).

DS goes for his MRI of his knee today.

Well here is some pixiedust: for good news with the MRI of the knee. I had surgery on my Platala (sp?) several years ago after a fall. It took lots of rehab but is almost 100%.

No Docs here yet. Finally got through to DH that we are leaving in less than two weeks and he might want to jump on board (no pun intended) about getting ready. You know packed, make sure he has everything and that he will be comfortable. LADIES - I am sure you all know how fun it can be when our DHs are not comfortable. :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2:

So many things to do.

We start basketball tonight. :cheer2:

Chat with you later

Good Morning everyone!!!!!

All is well here...no snow...lol...no thanks....lol .. it is suppose to be 80 degrees today so will put on my Bathing suit and try to get rid of my shirt lines(on my arms) and short lines(on my legs) cause looks kind of silly when I put on my Bathingsuit...and I look silly enough in that as it is...

As far as the Diseased other ship goes...YUCK...no thanks to that also...One good thing and this is a maybe..is that there are soooo many kids that get sick and us parents get amune to all of it that we tend to get sick less easier...

all those other people on the other ships that are not around sick kids all the time...tend to get sick easier...make sence????

Also DCL is so awsome about keeping there ship...ship shape...cleaning all the time and offering antibacterial jell that that helps also...I use that and so do my kids all the time...on the ship they think it is fun to get jelled all the time so they say yes everytime that they see them...

That's pretty amazing. Thanks so much for that information. I actually told her that a month or more ago but then I started doubting myself that that could actually be true. A disney person goes to baggage claim and takes the luggage off the carousel? What do they do if it's not all there...? I don't want to think about it, actually.

I will pass on your instructions to her.

Thanks!!

Im sure they have them picked up at a different area because there are SOOOOOmany people coming in that they probubly put them in a special place for pick up...not at the carousel at pickup:confused3

I don't know where they pick them up but we took the DCL bus once and it was nice not having to worry about luggage after we checked it at the airport. We have more this time and I wish we had that ability this time but we are getting in the night before and taking a car to port the next morning so will have to lug the suitcases. Thankfully they are all wheeled and they hook together. Makes a nice little train! I will have to take things out of several bags anyway so I have all the stockings to hang when we board. I will also pull the door signs and magnets so I can get our door decorated right away!

I agree. I rarely get sick and neither do my own kids but I am around sick kids all the time at school and most of the time I skate free of it.

Disney magic also had a big norwich/norwalk ?? problem on the 11/25 double dip. I hope they don't leave any of it around for us :teeth:

I don't usually have tan lines for the simple reason that I put so much sunblock on that I don't tan much. If I don't use the sunblock I burn so instead I am fish-belly white all summer. :rotfl: I need to throw in a baseball hat for myself and find my cover up. I can't find it anywhere :( .

hello all....how is everybody today? not long not long till we sail!!

I'm planning my day around getting to the mall and getting my reserved copy...hey I HAD to get it somewhere and they gave me a poster! (I have a history of doing that with movie releases.)

I don't have to worry about tan lines either....after about August I'm not out in swimwear (just not one of those people that goes to the pool much after school starts) so we've got a blank slate to work with!

Robin, DH is out there with you, so he's missing our little cold snap. We were really warm last week, but cold front came through and brrrrrrrrr....it's OK, though, I'm actually in the mood to write Christmas cards, which I'm going to go do this afternoon.

Good luck to the rest of you waiting for DOCS!!!!

Wow Susan--your to-do list sounds pretty massive!

Hi everyone!

Checking in quickly before I head out....

Just thought I'd mention that I saw on the news this morning that Royal Caribbean just had a big outbreak of notovirus(sp?) on a ship that returned yesterday. :scared1: Hope they keep it over there!

It's cold here today too...after 70s last week, our high will be in the 40s today. Brrrrrrr....but then into the upper 50s/low 60s the rest of the week...and sunny...our normal Winter range.

Everyone have a good day, I'm going to try to get a lot done!

Sorry to say that the 11/25 on the Magic also had a bad outbreak..here is the thread!!!!!

Hi Everyone!

This weekend I got myself:
  1. A haircut
  2. A stomach bug

Well, at least I look human now with the new haircut, and the stomach thing seems to have run its course, though my stomach still feels slightly off...good thing it's going away, though, because we're leaving next Sunday!

I swear I'm going to unpack everything and repack...I don't remember what I packed! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
