What makes y'all think guys would be embarrased talking about exposed breasts? I ate lunch at Hooters today, after all.

Now, if you start having discussions about the 'crimson tide' and it is not related to Alabama football, I will have to bail out...
That's because you never saw me :rotfl2: I'm fluffy remember!!!!

Everybody up early and getting out to scuba today. High wind warnings so be glad they beach dive instead of going out on a boat.

Okay, stupid kids forgot their C-cards for diving and had to run out (in nightgown and robe, hair everywhere - thank goodness its dark) and meet them 1/2 way to deliever their stuff.

The plights of motherhood!

I think it is a common problem with young girls...all of those stuffed things are treasures!

Young GIRLS? My son had no room on his bed because it was full of stuffed animals. I had to clear some away when he was at school, back in Sept. We have a hammock by the ceiling in his room that holds some of them. The rest I put away in storage. I let him keep only his most favorite 4 on the bed. He still hates me for that. :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

And with temps in the 40s, he still thinks a t-shirt is appropriate attire. That's a t-shirt with nothing on top of it. At least he gave up shorts in favor of long pants. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

So my son tested for his advanced blue belt in Tae Kwon Do yesterday, which means if he passes (there is no way he didn't pass, after his performance last night) he will be 3 ranks away from provisional black. It will take me YEARS to catch up to him! That's depressing.

Greatest moment on the test: he was doing a self defense exercise with one of the black belt judges. The guy is more than 3 times Keith's weight, almost twice as tall, and did I mention 1st degree black belt? Our chief instructor told Keith: "Just show me you can set up a good take-down, because realistically there is no way you can actually take him down." He just finished saying that and my son sent this guy crashing (literally) to the floor -- best take-down I've seen, EVER! It was beyond cool. It was just...amazing!

There's a black belt instructor in our school who's going to have an interesting time for a few months to come -- he won't live this down very soon...I think.

Dee that is AWESOME!!! Tell Keith, Ryan says "HI" Oh and he is the best magician Ryan has ever met! (Ry said that too)

That was the other thing that DH made her put away. He made her put all her shorts, sandals, AND her crocs in a bag and put it in the spare room because she was wearing shorts yesterday morning and when she wanted to go out I told her to put long pants on and she started to whine about it. It was in the 40s here too. They will all come back out for the cruise, but she was not happy.

She was still mad at daddy this morning. So much so, in fact, that despite the fact that she HATES to go to the grocery store with me she actually volunteered and went with me today so she wasn't alone in the house with him!! :lmao: :lmao: We got all the shopping done and came back just after 11:00 and he was STILL asleep!!!! Jeez. He was ok with the stuffed animals but I think he'd rather she had gotten rid of more. But at least he seems satisfied with it for the moment.

Its a WA thing. My son does the same thing

Congrats Dee on the karate. DH is on his 3rd degree in shodakan (sp) and 1st degree in Hapketo. DD is a 1st degree shodakan, thinking about 2nd degree and about two belts behind her dad in Hapketo. DS is a red belt (3rd degree brown) in shodakan. I know DH will be karating on ship. He always does. He also teaches karate 4 nights a week.

Congrats again Ryan :thumbsup2

:goodvibes I'm ready for sun! S.A.D. kicking in again, talked to my sisters and we are all feeling it.

Of course it's raining again. blah, blah.

Not just a WASH thing...it was in the 40s here this morning, and lots of teens wearing shorts (Including mine) to church. If it doesn't bother them, it doesn't bother me.

Kat, the one thing I would talk to DH about when he is in a receptive mood is picking battles. If there's one piece of consistent advice I have gotten from people who have successfully parented teenagers and the "experts" out there is that you've got to let them win some. One very successful mom said "don't sweat the small stuff....then stick to your guns on the big stuff." If you let them have their way on things that don't really matter then you will have better negotiating ability when something does.

With my guys, life could be a constant battle. Teenagers are fighting to run their own lives. So I have decided to let them leave their rooms messy, long as they clean it every two weeks, I let them wear their hair how they want, I don't care what clothes they wear except for special things, etc. etc. I do insist that they work at school, go to church and observe certain rules including treating others with respect. You and DH may want to decide together what is really IMPORTANT to hold DD to, and what things you wish she would do differently but really don't matter.

But nowhere in that scenario have I figured out how to get their heads out of their ..... well anyhow. My 14 year old left his nice, heavy, $50 sweatshirt at his Lacrosse tryout yesterday... :furious: DH was there and was supposed to get his gear from him before he headed back to the retreat, but "forgot I wanted him to do that." So, DS did manage to hang onto his gear, but the sweatshirt was missed. I'm hoping it will be there when they got back for round 2 today. Otherwise, he'll REALLY be wearing the same sweatshirt to school all of the time!

Just checking in. I didn't bother to do any grading all week...sound like the kids now. Computer didn't work so why grade. Duh???

No I have no excuses except I don't want to do it. Have 4 papers per class to read and grade - I could be up all night :sad2: No one to blame but me. I am going to treat myself by checking in between assignments.

Morning/afternoon everyone :goodvibes
Another hot day here...about 80...sure would like a little coldness cause than would enjoy the the warmth of the carribian more. :teeth:

Not sure who is still in here cause did not read the ,posts yet hope all is well

I'm checking in as well...wrapping Christmas gifts. I decided that as I clean my office, I just need to ship the gifts...otherwise no place to put them. So I figure I will ship them Tuesday, and people will get them right after Thanksgiving. So...wrapping today. And still working on office.

Susan, sorry you've got all that grading to do. Kinda how I feel about my cleaning...our house isn't awful, but there are just so many things that I don't get to all of the time that I think I should do before I have a houseguest...so STRESS time! :teeth:

Okay, here is a list of the movies that will be playing on the ship:

Santa Clause 3
Pirates
Narnia
Cars
Invinciple
8 below
Chicken Little
Apocalypto (not yet released)
De Ja vu (not yet released)
Shaggy Dog
Gaurdian
Prestige
The Wild
Stick It
Step Up

Hope this helps :thumbsup2

Hi Dee...welcome back..been wondering where you disapearred to :)

Looks like fun! I'll pass this on to Kev--will give him more to look forward to.

A pause to celebrate! ALL GIFTS WRAPPED!!! :woohoo:

Mom, MIL, SILS, BILS, nieces and nephews....everything that needs to be shipped...

Also found a place to stash the cruise stuff I've been accumulating...t shirts, signs, etc.

With gifts and cruise stuff out of the way, I can see my desk AND the floor...time to dust!

I have posted the Movie list in both the Kids and Teen threads...I put all of them in there cause some parents will allow ther kids to see some of the other movies that are not disney....

Have a blessed day... ;)

Sounds like you are way ahead of me!!!!

I am watching about the "Voyager" cruise ship....has anyone ever sailed on that ship? Next on the Travel channel is "Cruise ship secrets"life aboard the most popular cruise ships.

When I was talking to DCL today about a possible cruise to Alaska she replyed "There is a very very good chance that that will be the 2008 summer cruise"...but she could not say for certain...but she was convincing in her voice... :confused3 wish someone would just come out and tell us already... :confused3 :confused3
