Boy,
trying to get my boys to do homework today/night is like pulling teeth...first they wast to do this than they want to do that...I always had them for years do there homework the moment they came home from school.

Than the stupid computer games started taking over ...I wish I never bought them any last christmas, my life would be so much easier.

They were never aloud on the comp during the school week than my dh who is in GATE/all A's says. I get all A's,do my work when you ask, never late for school, only missed 5 days all last year of school, never get in trouble at school, Go to bed as asked and so on...so if I'm doing so well than why cant I have the comp during the week

Wll he had a strong case...so I did all went fine than he hit 7th grade...everything still fits but know need to argue with him to do his work...

He says if I cant go on than I refuse to do my homework...and I say if you miss your homework you are off a week..he says fine and we go o and on and on...

Just tell them you all celebrated the Canadian Thanksgiving several weekends ago and are not doing the US Thanksgiving ;) no need for the in-laws to come then!!!

I feel your pain - why do you think I am going on the cruise????!!!!YUP no inlaws for me over X-mas hurray!!!! ssssshhhh don't tell dh

Denise

:ssst: :ssst: :rotfl: :rotfl:

My inlaws live in Hulmeville, Pa. MIL says I stole her son and ruined him - the fact that we are still together and will be celebrating our 24th tells me she is wrong. Also it didn't take much urging to get DH to move from PA to WA - far, far away.

DH still calls his mommy everyday :rotfl: She still doesn't like me. They are big hypochondriacs (spelling?) I can't stand being around them and having to hear about all their ailments. And yes, my kids notice and my in laws drive them crazy too! My in-laws have a hard time realizing that our kids are teens not toddlers!

I feel your pain. MY DS is the same, but since I teach at the school he attends - I hear and know all!!! my crystal ball is hard to beat - poor kid, he gets away with nothing.

Both kids are upstairs yelling over their final dive test. Teacher said they could take it together but it doesn't seem to be going well. I think I will stay down here and play on the computer.

Shereena,
Anything new happen today on the CB...was there for about 2 hrs or more today . Have made myself cut down...taking to much of my time. Not getting anything done. Will go in for at least 1 hr everyday and on Frid and Sat in the PM after the kids are in bed.

I need a break feel like all these ideas are just going in circles...

haha...we had to take our tests infront of the instructor....i layed on the floor with a dive chart the size of a movie poster and scored a perfect...but i'm a good test taker...i'm not good at doing nitty gritty homework.....

That's the problem - Lexi (DD) is a great test taker and a perfectionist. The book work was her thing. The pool stuff was her waterloo. Nick (DS) is a ho-hum test taker - doen't take care (how fast can he get the minimum right! - its a boy thing) - and a fish in the water. They are turning in one test. Either one would have been done hours ago but together it's taking forever.

kinda funny listening to them fight out the answers.

well it helped that i had unofficially taken the course 2 years earlier with my parents. I sat in and listened...but i am good at things i love...the only downside to my diving is my bouyancy...i tend to float around while trying to take pictures

I am so steaming at my 12 yo ds...where is my book! " Yes, your teen is crazy"..loving your child without loosing your mind.

Doesnt he understand that I am Menopasal!!!!

A Menopausal Mom while your child is going through Puberty/hitting his teen years is a  mix....we want to do battle tonight...

He is in his room with the TV and light off at 7:00,if no homework no Tv and an go to bed. told him there is no exception to not doing homework...you can battle with me on anything else but I can gaurantee that when it comes to HW you will loose the war...

GRRRRRRRR

My kids have never experienced 'real' diving. Just pool and paper until Saturday when they are goin into the Puget Sound. Can't 'love' it until they can get an idea of what 'it' is. I think the caribbean will help them love 'it.' but not so sure about the Puget Sound - cold and rainy this coming weekend.

...I guess rainy doesn't make any difference

Well looks like I won...for this moment anyway...no sooner did I finish posting that he cam in and said he will do his work..

He knows that I will follow through and take his comp away for a week or more if his work is not done...and as Jen can agree with I'm sure...that is good amunition in a war!

Been there will do it again... and I'm the eighth grade teacher. :bounce:

well rain makes the visibility poor...as long as they are used to the cold water....i lose body heat very quickly which results in hypothermia....so i could never dive in cold water...i will go to Key west on this cruise and dive in a skin, hood, and wetsuit

the worst kind...my mom always threatened to take away the computer...she tried...but taking all those computer classes had its advatage...

They aren't use to the cold water...at least not until Saturday. DH is diving in his drysuit, ha, ha!

Halftime...still raining hard here but I'm snug and warm with my computer - no more news from the outside.
