Successful shopping! Got crazy teen book, other errands run, AND some ideas for signs. Plus I resisted the cheesecake temptation (for today.)

My signs will be nothing elaborate or high tech, but I'm thrilled that I have come up with something more clever than a crayon and construction paper!

Susan, are your children boys or girls? I will have a 14 and 16 year old on the cruise, both boys. They won't be diving though, except with a snorkeling mask. Middle school teachers are my idols. Actually any good teacher is, but middle school especially because it is a tough age for kids. They have their own brand of going on!

Angela, is your whole group doing the Antigua snorkel/beach thing? We're booked on it too! If it includes your whole family and us five, we could be the whole excursion!!!! Whoops, I just re-read, you're not all going, but several are. We'll still probably be a big part of the excursion!

Haven't seen anything of Jen today--not usual for her when it's such a busy posting day. Guessing she headed North to see BF?

You can have that cheese cake if you want it ..just be sure that when your done eating it that you go to the Gym and get on the elliptical for 3 days 8 hrs and 5 minutes without stopping and than all the calories and fat from it will be gone... one, two,three, one, two, three,

Hi everyone, and welcome to all of our newbies!

Got back from our trip to Ireland last night...UGH! What a terribly long day. Ended up staying up about 24 hours, then crashed into bed at 7:45 last night. As a result, Eric was awake at 4am and I was up by 5:15. Oh well.

I still have about 40 pages to catch up on, so chat with you later. Trying to watch football and read, so it's a bit slow going...

My 16 year old is a girl - 11th grade but no drivers license yet. My 14 year old (actually turns 14 on Oct 27) is an 8th grade boy. I teach 8th grade US History and I run student government/leadership grades 7-9 (mostly 9th graders). I also coach tennis and badminton - don't laugh, I do whatever needs to be done - but I am not athletic.

My 16 year old is a sophomore (turned 16 in Sept.) but no license yet either. We're talking about January to take the test. 14 year old (will turn 14 on November 2-lol!) is also in 8th grade, and a tennis player! Atlanta has a very large neighborhood tennis league, neighborhoods form teams and play each other, pretty fun! He's actually pretty decent (although there are a lot more serious players much better than him.)

My 14 year old plays tennis too. First year though on the jr high jv team. We were going to practice today but it 42 degrees out and raining. No neighborhood teams in North Bend or Redmond (where we go to school/work).

I hear you, Angela. That is my Sunday thing too.

I just emailed Jen a picture to see if she could post it. It is a door sign that everyone could make a copy of and print out to identify ourselves as DISers. You could even add your DIS name if you want to. I made mine in adobe photoshop but changed it to a jpeg file. If she can post it and people like it and want their DIS name added you can let me know and I can add it and then email it so you can print it out.

I do most of my Monday and Tuesday. Funny thing, but it will be caught up, and then after DSs clean their rooms on the weekend, I'm buried alive. How does that happen?

Having an ID sign is a great idea--and thank you for helping those of us who are challenged! Can't wait to see the design, if Jen can do her and make it work! You're a kind, kind woman--stockings AND sign design.

Nah, the sign was easy. I'm not that great an artist, but I took the basic design Jen used for the t-shirts and added to it to make the sign. Hopefully she can get it posted 'cause that is one thing I am not good at.

Thanks...hope it comes through than can print it out. Just incase I cant print it out right from you I copied both the pictures also so can make a door sign with it also. I wanted to make something with DIS boards would be great to have Jens picture on our doors to match our shirts...

I got the sign posted on Angela's Yahoo group for the cruise! So if you are able to access that you can go to the Photos link on the left side of the page where you will see two photo albums. One is Angela's for the Life ring door sign, the other is the one I did. Let me know what you think and if we want to go with it to put on our doors. Also if you do, do you want your DIS name on the sign. If you want a larger view, click on the picture several times.

After I posted the sign I decided to change the background color and did a second one with a blue background instead of the red and added my DIS name to show where it might go. I then did a third one where I changed the location of the date and the DIS name and made Mickey a little smaller.

I actually prefer the blue to the red myself. So please check them out and let me know what you all think.When we have a consensus I can change the name and then email a copy to whoever wants one and everyone can print their own. I print mine on regular paper then use laminating sheets and will put magnetic strips on the back. You can also print them on magnetic paper if you prefer, my printer just doesn't seem to like the magnetic paper.
