:rotfl2: :rotfl2: My DH always got me Jewelery and know I have so much I told him "NO MORE" I do were it on occasions.

Tell him that you would like a day at the Spa!!! That is what Dh gets me...Last year he and his best friend split the cost for me to go there...I was there for 8 hrs and got the full treatment including lunch...it was great!!! :teeth:

I love anytime at the spa...would get a message everyday if I could afford it :thumbsup2

Maybe I am weird, but I am just not into that. He got that for me at a local spa here for our anniversary a few years ago and it was ok but not really my thing. And for what they charge on the cruise I don't enjoy it that much. He said something at one point about getting me a new cell phone and I may end up going with that. Mine has nothing wrong with it but he has been complaining about his and that would let him upgrade to mine and make him happier too. We'll see.

I have the perfect gift for you ....tell him that you would like a 10 day Christmas cruise through the caribbian, he may just get it for you...thats what I'm going to ask for :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

My DH would say sure! Then I would have to figure out how to budget in without having a heart attack!! :teacher:

Oh Well we will enjoy this one and be happy at that!! :thumbsup2

I was just being silly and refering to "This Cruise"... :teeth:

Hi!

Can I tell you how much I love being 5 minutes from Super Target--parking lot to driveway...they just opened the one near us a few months ago. It took about ten minutes...then a couple of weeks ago they opened a cut through road that goes right past the back of our neighborhood. :cool1:

So, Christmas gifts, not sure. We started making less gifts from Santa and more from mom and dad just to make it less traumatic when reality hits. And this year cruise/excursions are their gifts from us. So I bought these special little bags and will fill them from Santa...probably one nice gift and some stocking stuffers. Kev's nice gift will be a camera (so tell everyone to smile pretty Christmas day!) We aren't sure about the other two. Maybe some gas cards for the soon to be driver and some event tickets, movie passes, etc. Stuff like that adds up pretty quickly, and packs nicely. :teeth: Neither of them has a big thing that they want.

Luckily, they aren't interested in a new game system. They have several old ones (we've been doing this for a few years.) They are torn between 360 and PS3. They aren't that eager, so I suggested they save the money Grandma will give them for Christmas and wait a couple of months--prices will go down and a clear winner will probably show up. They have to agree because they WILL share it.

Angela, I think the sweating thing is honestly why Brian buzzed his hair during the Summer....but it definitely is not the "in" look and he didn't love going back to school standing out that way.

DH and I usually don't do Christmas gifts, other than something small. Neither of us need anything that much. So we save ourselves the stress of having to spend even more money. I think this year we will each just reserve the right to buy something we like on the trip guilt-free and call it our gift. I'm with you guys on the jewelry...I have some nice stuff, I like it but rarely wear it. (Other than my diamond ear studs which I do wear.) Tennis bracelets catch on my clothing, I only wear my wedding ring and one other, expensive earrings get lost too easily...

I dont get expensive earings either..for myself anyway...like you said, to easy to loose.

Kids wanted XBOX 360 last year but said "No" due to it being new and lots of bugs...so has been out for a year and has more games and the PS3 is new and has alot of bugs being reported and besides that it is more expensive.

The cruise is mine and Billies thing...we wanted this. More me :teeth:
the kids want to go also but if we never brought it up they would not have even thought about it.

Its funny... every year we take our Motorhome(no more tenting for me...I'm old and want my luxurys like a toilet) to a local place called "Campland on the Bay" it is a great place to camp...its got soooo many events for adults and kids...bands on Weekends, Teen tent that has DJ...3 pools, on the bay, sooo much. And the kids say "We are still going to go to campland right" cause if we have to pass that up than lets not go.

Disney Cruise and WDW $ 20,000...Campland $700.00 (for 10 days) :rotfl2: We have been going to Campland for the last 9 years. Just goes to show that you dont have to spend a lot of $$$ to have a great time.

Yes, PS3 is extremely expensive...I'll let the kids make that decision (the 14 and 16 year old are probably better at researching this stuff than I am anyhow.)

I know what you mean about the other kinds of vacations...for us it is a beach condo on an island off the coast of South Carolina...(my dad often camps at a state park one island over.) The kids love going there, we have friends who own a home there and stay at the same time, we've met other families who frequent the place, I think they would rather go there than anything. It's not as cheap as camping, but doesn't cost like a cruise either. But it's more work for me though...nobody cleans my room or cooks food for me there.... We've been there in the Winter before, it's often pleasant outside for riding bikes and such, and the ocean is right there, but you would not want to swim in it....

I love camping but like you said...it is a lot of work...it is more for the kids than us...the packing of the motorhome and cleaning it everyday and when we get back and all the cooking and everything is a time cosuming.

But it is real nice to sit back and relax at the bay when I am done and the kids have free rain there also as do all the other hundreds of kids there. So dont have to keep them occupied.

I finally finished all my grading and am allowing myself to checkup on line again.

Lets see. I like Nick with short hair. He likes to just leave it. I insist on seeing his eyes - other that that he can do what he wants - but for christmas he will get it cut for me :rotfl:

Christmas gifts for crew? never even thought of that. It makes since but I feel so selfish for not even considering it.

What else. I'm with everyone on jewelry. I have very little, not even an engagaement ring - after 23+ years I don't need one. I wear simple jewlery - TARGET has some great earrings.

Presents for family: My sister sent my an American Express gift certificate the other day. Wish she hadn't because now I have to do something for her. It's kinda been our policy over the last few years to give only to the kids. She blew it and now i have to feel guilty again. DH and I give each other small gifts only - a gift we want while cruising and I get a morning at the spa. Oh, I love spas.

Nick would love to have a 360 or PS3 but he isn't getting one. He will probably get a couple of DS and PS2 games and we are looking into getting him his own computer.

Lexi will be getting a car so she doesn't need anything!!!!! But she thinks she needs everything.

I think I have caught up on everything. I hATE to shop. I hope DH get a list and we do it all in one shot!!!

I dont have an engagement ring either...my wedding ring looks more like an engagement ring than a wedding ring...but I picked it out and thats all I needed. Also same as you...after all these years....but if I wanted one I would just go and bye one myself...how romantic... :rotfl2:

Has everyone gotten there flu shots yet!!!! we are all fine here...did you read on these boards about all the people on another cruise line that got flu like symptoms...last I read it was 700 sick :sad2:

Be sure to put hand sanatizer on your list...and dont forget to use at every chance on DCL as you see them with it and also dont touch the Rallings inside and out...and what ever you do...DONT BREATH...

Congrats Susan on finishing those papers! :woohoo: That has to feel good...

Kat, why is it that after we talk about hair all day that mine is being exceedingly difficult, and I'm ready to go for the buzzed look you all are threatening DD with! SHE may be afraid of having her own look, but I'M not!
If you meet me on the cruise and I'm hairless, just know I probably had several days in a row like today..I fix it, it looks OK, and by the time I get anywhere it looks like I just got out of bed!

Keith and I are all set on the flu shots. I got mine on the 6th and he got his on the 11th. Since it takes 2 weeks for the immunity to set in, we're going to be more than fine when we leave for WDW. In 3 weeks.

No I haven't had my flu shot yet - but do need it. I did buy a little hand sanitizer that hooks onto a bag for each of us for your trip, though.

Wow, everyone must be busy tonight....

DH is hooked on heroes, so I'm going to try to watch it with him. (Save the Cheerleader, Save the World.)

I may need a translation tomorrow... :confused3

Have a good evening everyone!

hey all...i'm home at my house now....long drive...lol...not any trouble just very long...

I had my flu shot just before Halloween. DH never gets them so, of course, he got the flu last week! And I always carry hand sanitizer with me.
