Wow! talk about a change in your day....
The guy across the street (the little boys' father was diagnosed with cancer just over 2 years ago.) He's been very sick, but I guess this wasn't the end. He continues treatment, even though the cancer continues to get worse...I guess he just had a really awful response to his treatment...they've taken him to the hospital.
I don't know what to hope for..the mom is very stoic and brave, but the whole process of watching him degrade and having to become a permanent caregiver has taken a toll on her...not to mention the poor little boy. She told me last Friday, when he started this last round of treatment, she asked the boy not to go too far because she might need him to help "check on dad." By Saturday night she did let him come sleep over here, though. She's had a very tough life for the past two years....
OK, I'm bummed...I think I'll go hug my kids or something...
Wow - Well I pray that they can find comfort in knowing that there are lots of people that are touched by their experience and pray for them to have peace - whatever that means for their family. Thank you for sharing -- it helps snap alittle perspective on the daily problems that we all deal with.
