Did you get the cruise mug? Don't you love it? DH got up first and used it last weekend...he got a severe scolding! I offered to get him his own but he said no.

By the way, I think I used to get that SAD thing too when we lived further North. We get cold weather here and all, but never a long enough stretch to be a problem...seems like in the worst of Winter we get a day or two of 60 and sunny thrown in to make it all good. Now I fully enjoy the season...I used to hate Fall because I knew what was behind it. Now I love it, and while Winter isn't my favorite it is tolerable, and shorter.

I was going to try and exchange it because I wanted take it to the guest services and have the character's sign it.

DS loves his and is bringing pens for all his new friends to sign - oh, unliked doomedforever...spazmat does fit Nick really well. :rotfl2:

I do feel bad for any guys that try to hang here regularly....

JR does a pretty good job.

when they arrived yesterday my husband eyed it real close, I thought he was going to steal it for work. I offered something to everyone but DH and DD said no way. Nick said cool. He got something. Since I have to reorder I might order DH his own mug but he will have to beg a little.

So OK, my son would call Nick a skater....(sueded Merrills and all).

But lots of kids wear them with shorts around here...they look fine.

Are you going to get him nice shoes for dressier evenings or make due? I'm challenged with my guys because I really hate the idea of buying nice shoes at the rate they are growing...they will probably be out of them by Easter, and they're wearing full mens sizes...except Kev.

Or, more importantly, admit you were right and he was wrong! ;)

busy day for everyone but me. DH teaches Karate in the am and then this afternoon has a karate seminar until 3 (in normal language that means 5 since he is a social butterfly and will chit-chat and go have beers). Then he has two partys an thank you for helping us move party (karate people - not my type) and a "lets watch the ultimate fights" party" really not my thing. Then he has to get Lexi to a Morman dance - no we are not Morman but all her friends are so she has a blast when she goes. Nick has a birthday at 4:30-8:30 (remember we live about 1 hour away from where they go to school so its a long drive each way - but they gotta socialize right?)

Me I'm antisocial and I am just the birthday party chauffer for Nick. Oh and clean the house woman I guess (new super hero, haven't you heard!)

Tomorrow is 3rd attempt at getting their C-card in diving - open water. Again everybody but me. I guess you'll get lots of posts from this anti-social wonder woman.

nope merills will do just fine. I did buy him a nice button down shirt but Nick feels that any button down shirt - even silky ones with big dragons on them are dress up. Only t-shirts are not dress up - if it has buttons its dressy!!! :rotfl2: So son't be surprised if you see him all dressed up in khakis and a button down black dragon shirt from target!

Definitely Brian's definition of skater....not a good thing or a bad thing...in his school people just group people.

Living with three guys, I get a lot of being left out. If DH gets four tickets to any sporting event, guess who stays home? Even being around here on a Sunday, they all glue themselves to football games...not moi.

So I know what you mean...

May be time for retail therapy...any good shopping near where Nick's party is?

Still getting use to this new Internet 7. Keep hitting the wrong buttons. When Jen gets up she will laugh at me.

I haven't been brave enough. Seems every time I change something on my computer, something unexpected blows up! :sad2:

Oh, and the thing about the shirts? I know. DS16 will wear collared shirts, even for school. DS14 wears Ts. I do make him have a collared shirt or two for church and I just bought him a button front (he had one last Winter, but doesn't fit...) that he will wear over a T. When we go to church whichever offensive dress shirt he has put over his t always comes off in the car!

Not really any shopping. We are semi rural. Redmond where the party is is not rural but these people all own "estates" unlike my 1200 ft tiny house. They think they are all rural by not paving their roads (or should I say driveways :rotfl2: ) Party is in Microsoft land not in backwater North Bend. We are the hicks around here. Ya know both parents work and we live in a little, little house. no maid or nanny. HA! they got me to nanny and bust on them and I got them to clean!!!

Skater, Nick would like that - I think NERD. Skater/nerd its just a tag anyway :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Nick is very much his own person. Doesn't care what others think. He is small and wirery, wears what he feels comfortable in and doesn't care what others think. Has lots of friends, plays video games, avoids homework, and is really into Magic cards at the moment.

8th grader so he can be very moody!!!

Nope, the whole standard black shirts/especially those with the Japanese stuff, sueded sneaker thing is by definition skater at his school. He does not consider himself a skater (wears plainer ts) but a couple of his good friends are (and proud of it!)

My problem is I think those sueded sneakers are dressy enough, but I don't know about the basketball type shoes my guys wear. I guess since their dress-up will be more toward the casual, I'll call it good. They'll do the khaki-type pants and button front shirt pretty readily...

Kat, Merrills casual shoes, sneaker-y things but sueded.
