Good Morning All

Well, we were hoping for the best, but it looks like we lost one of our kittys to a rabid fox that was on our street last week. She was last seen Friday, right after we left for NYC, by the girls that were taking care of our kitten and she looked like she was limping real bad. That same night, a few houses up, the fox attacked a girl getting out her car and she has to beat it off with her bag and run for her life. Then it went the next street over and attacked a dog, cat and a horse. It was finally caught and tested pos. for rabies. Last night, one of our neighbors told us that Wed & Thurs night it was on our front lawn. Geesh, maybe you could of told us a little sooner, especially since they know I do daycare :sad2: . So as the days go on I get just a bit more sad. She has been with us for 12 years in April. I have to tell Julia tonite and I don't think that's going to go to well.....

Mary Ann, sorry to hear that :sad2: . I hope they get rid of the fox, that could be dangerous with kids in the neighborhood!

Good Morning,

Last day of school today!! I just love when the kids are home. :)

Mary Ann--sorry to hear about your cat. Losing a pet is so hard. I still get teary-eyed and my dog went missing almost 6 years ago.

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Judy

Mary Ann, so sorry about your kitty. :sad1: I have decided since losing mine in April that I'm not going to have any more pets; it is just too hard on me when something like that happens. Hope it goes well telling Julia. pixiedust:

Got DD moved back in last night. I commented to a friend at school about wondering how to get the adult children to stop coming back; he said "I think you have to fake your death". :rotfl2: Now to start working on a plan....

Here too! The kids are pretty excited. DH asked a while ago if this was reason for parents to celebrate or be sad :rotfl: . I work all day so it doesn't really affect my world. DH, on the other hand, will be home with the DD for several weeks. Next week the kids are home, DH has class from 12-2 each day. The week after DD goes to the Children's Museum from 8-5, the week after she has Fine Arts class :artist: from 8-11 each day, DH has her the rest of the day. Back to the museum the week after, home the week of July 4, YMCA camp the next week, children's museum again, then Girl Scout Day camp for a week, then home for three weeks, then school starts again. Busy summer for the kid!

Ah, and until I watched the travel channel show on DCL last night I didn't even know who he was!!!! Cool.

Your dad? ok... I hate moving. I have only down moves around town in the last 16 years and I hate those as much as the cross country moves!

Yea and just an FYI, that show was pretty outdated last night. Tom McAlpin is President of Disney Cruise line at this time. Former President Matt Quimet(*sp?) is President of Disneyland now.

Moves seem like just part of our life now. Lived in about 8 states since 1989. This is the last move they claim. I am off to college anyways in 2 years. lol

You could always buy a smaller house and move so there won't be room for the kids.... :rotfl2:

Yeah, I figured it was pretty outdated since they didn't say anything about last year's west coast cruises or next year's med cruises.

I moved a lot for a while but I have given it up! Let's see, Minnesota, Nebraska, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Wisconsin, New Hampshire, Washington State, Indiana. And in all but the first three and Washington State there were multiple moves between residences as well. We moved 4 years ago and really don't want to move ever again! Ugh.

Kat - unfortunately our house is already too small but I don't have the heart to tell them they can't come back, especially when they are having a hard time emotionally. Maybe as soon as Bryan goes away to college we will move to a one-bedroom apartment in one of those "older adults only" complexes. :rotfl:

Bryan always has a pretty full summer, too. His last day is next Wednesday, then 3 weeks home, Disneyland trip, 2 weeks home, church camp, one week home, Mexico mission trip, YMCA referee training camp, and possibly another week at a different church camp. But after that he will have a whole month before school because he doesn't start back until Sept. 19th. He gets pretty bored at home so I have been encouraging him to start spending his summers working at church camp as soon as he is old enough. Next year he will be 15 and old enough to work at the one that is close to us. When he is 16 he can start working at the one that he really likes, where he has gone for the past 7 years (he knows every inch of that camp), which is about 3 hours away.

Thanks guys. Not looking forward to the talk tonite with Julia.

I know, what a nice surprise this morning when I logged on. They are really cool :cool1:

I saw the DCL show last night. It's even more fun to watch when you know you are cruising in 6 months.

Matt, I don't remember if I met you on the last 10 day or not. Were you at the DIS Meet on sail away day? Are you still in High School? Good luck on your new move.

Kat, just curious...why did you move around so much????

The kids are in school until June 19th, which is a Monday and they have a half day. I thought it was kind of silly to open all the buildings one day after the weekend for a half day of school, especially since they are just having parties that day anyway. I have all my projects for my house lined up for the summer. Now, just hoping I have the funds to finish them all :confused3 . No camps for Julia this year. She used to love them, but now she would rather stay home.

Carol, sorry to hear it didn't end up working out for your DD. Julia has already informed us, save college, she is never moving out. A smaller house is looking better and better :rotfl2: .

How true! Even DH sat and watched it with me which really surprised me!

He didn't know the ships were built in two sections and he about freaked when he saw that part! Said it didn't make him feel too safe :rotfl2: . I told him they'd been sailing that way all along and it wasn't a problem so he should chill. :rotfl:

Well, family moved from Minnesota to Nebraska to Massachusetts when I was growing up because DF got different jobs. I went to college in Minnesota, graduate school in Wisconsin. Got married and moved to Spokane, Washington. Left him and got a job in New Hampshire, left there to go back to school in Indiana and have been here ever since.

Samantha vacillates on this one. Some days she says she is going to run away from home now, others she says she wants to live with us forever. I'd prefer something in between, like moving out when she goes to college! :thumbsup2

Getting my fluffing in for the day! :teeth:

I haven't got the running away from home yet. She has always been pretty agreeable although, this school year has been a bit more confrontational between us. I am hoping we can make it through the teenage years  without her hating Mom too much :sad1:

Fluff away...the weekend is coming, and you know what happens then.....

Confrontational?? :rotfl2: You've never met Samantha!!! She is one of the most strong willed young ladies I have ever known! Has been since day one in fact. She has a temper and she knows it but doesn't seem to be able to find a way to control it so it gets the better of her from time to time. She will be 10 soon but we are already getting a taste of the teenage years and I fear it may get worse. We have her taking Tae Kwan Do right now in hopes that maybe it will help her to channel things better and teach her some discipline over herself. The thought of her at 16 is scary!! :rolleyes1

Ahhh, see, I've been spoiled in that way. Don't get me wrong, just like every other kid, Julia has her issues that she needs to work on...it's just that giving us a hard time has never been one of them. Now we are beginning the "you don't know anything so I don't want to listen to you" phase. I try to be more diplomatic, but DH has a zero tolerence policy towards it. I choose to stay out of it when they go at it ;) .

So what's up for the weekend everyone.

We are hanging around. They are coming to open the pool Monday so the deck needs to be prepared. Too bad it is supposed to poor buckets Saturday. No Soccer...again :sad2: .

I am walking in & camping out at the ACS Relay For Life next weekend and we are going to get all our event night fundraising games finished this weekend. We just do balloon tosses and duck pulls, stuff like that. I bought a bunch of carnival prizes from Oriental Trading to give out as prizes. If anyone is in Boston June 28th I have 4 Red Sox tickets I am raffling off. I'm hoping to raise $1,000 this year. We are doing it in Grampy Joe's memory. I imagine I will be quite emotionally drained by the end of next weekend.
