12/12/10 Podcast cruise 2.0

Changed ressie to DU. Officially part of podcast cruise.

not part of pod-cast, but am booked on cruise. Woo-hoo.

Started listening to pod-cast. :thumbsup2 Am happy with VS, so don't want her to lose comission, so probably won't switch to DU. Tracy - will VS still get comish if we switch after final pay? We do want access to pod-cast activities (swag not as important).pirate:

DW (Donna) and I just got off of the 14 day EB TransAtlantic cruise ... we were table-mates with Yvet & Emiel. I graduated the cruise, reaching a level of 3.2 in "Yvet-speak". On the way home from the airport, I was still refring to stiff as THINGY!
:worship:

Okay, so we booked the Podcast cruise while on the Magic (with DU as our T/A), then sent an e-mail to DU with our DCL ressie # (we have the inaugural Alaska booked with DU). I'm just trying to figure out how DW will get time off from work. Either that, or I will be sailing solo, or seeking a roomie!

Count us in for FE's!

SDLONG329 - Hey we're on the 12/12 and the inaugural Alaska too!

Hi Gayle -

We booked the 6 day LA to Vancouver REPO as well (on DVC points). Did you happen to look at that cruise as well?

We were tablemates with Yvet and Emiel on the first cruise. They are wonderful. :)

Looking forward to meeting you all on 2.0!

Yes, I REALLY wanted to do that too. But as it is the first Alaska trip overlaps with the end of the semester; both my BF and I work at colleges/universities. So as it is, we will be VERY LUCKY just to be able to get away for the first Alaska; leaving any earlier is probably out of the question. :sad2:

Anyone know how many rooms we are up to? After last time I can't wait to see what is in store for us. I never expected the amount of gifts and fun we had on the last cruise. Meeting new people is always the best. I already know some new ones coming this year. For myself and DS 24 Irishgoofy1986 we welcome everyone and hope to meet you all.

I don't normally go on cruises under 7 days, but was introduced to PCC 2.0 while on the 14 EB TransAtlantic. Accordingly, I booked the PCC 2.0 cruise while onboard the Magic, via price request form to Jocelyn, and noting DU as my TA.

When I returned home, I sent an a-mail to DU, to advise of the DCL reservation #. Initially, DU had not been provided with my reservation. Shortly thereafter, DCL contacted DU to confirm my reservation (with DU). Shortly after THAT, DCL contaced DU to rescind their confirmation with DU - indicating the DCL onboard sales MGR (I believe they were referring to Jocelyn) indicated she was ADAMANT I never disclosed DU.

What-da-hey? I mean, it's CLEARLY in writing ... BLACK AND BLUE (my writng in BLACK, Jocelyn's in BLUE). You can even see where Jocelyn checked off NO T/A!

Has anyone else ever heard of anything like this happening? I ran into several problems booking while onboard DCL a few years ago (had two cruises canceled on me, over a DCL screw-up). I just can't figure out why someone would jump through so many hoops, especially when it's in my hand, and in writing.

I did speak with a DCL Shoreside Gust Services MGR, and faxed the information to them (though seeing the documentation in color is more powerful). Yes, I e-mailed the color JPG's to DU.

Why does DCL make thing so hard?

And people are still booking- my friend Cindy and her DH just booked today!

We booked the PodCast cruise while we were onboard the EB TransAtlantic! :cool1:

Now, if DCL would only make sure the get the reservations taken care of properly - that would be grrrrrrrreat! :confused3

Nice! Did they give you a good discount? DVC points or $$$?

Typical onboard discounts = 10% off website rates, plus SBC (based upon category of room). Though you can use DVC points to go on the cruise, most (or many) of the Podcast activites are only open to those who book through DU, since DU will have a financial role in those extra activities.

We booked on cash, listing DU as our T/A ... though once off the ship, DCL is refusing to honor our written notice of DU as our travel agent. Jocelyn (DCL onboard sales mgr) crossed off the part where we indicated that we have a travel agent. As some of you may know, the reservation request cards DO NOT have a location to write the name of your T/A ... but I wrote it in the side margins anyway.
:rolleyes1

Because there are so many people who have booked this cruise, the 12/12/10 cruise is several hundred dollars MORE than the 12/5/10 cruise. Then again, I am not looking to go on a typcal 4 day cruise (we like the longer cruises) ... rather ... we're interested in going BECAUSE of the Podcast.
:woohoo:

Yikes! Let me know how DCL handles the T/A thing... not fun :(

Maybe I completely missed this, but, what kind of "special events" does the Podcast cruise usually line up?

Maybe I completely missed this, but, what kind of "special events" does the Podcast cruise usually line up?

For this Podcast Cruise the details that have been released so far include:

•Special Guest Speaker, Author and Former Executive Vice President of Operations, Walt Disney World Resort; Lee Cockerell
•Special Guest Speaker, Author and Former Disneyland Publicist; Charlie Ridgway
•Special Guest Speaker and Imagineer; Bob Gurr
•Special Guest Entertainer and voice of Ariel; Jodi Benson

There is a strong chance there will be a live podcast recording as well.

I would suspect there may be some special goodies made available for DIS cruisers, as well as the possibility of more special events.

Wow, very nice!
Is there a special registration or anything that I would need to do to be a part of the events?
