12/10/05 ~ Anyone else cruising.....??

Before I forget about it....thought for something to hang on the fish outside our rooms for DISer treats. Christmas stockings! :) I picked them up for both kid's classes at 90% from Target. I can probably get a ton of them again this year. I can put the family name on the white trim with the DIS ID on the red part.

Great idea, Lisa! You can also glue magnets on them and hang them on the door. We had ALOT of fun on our Dec 2004 trip playing secret Santa for the DIS girls across the hall! We picked up a small trinket at each port and dropped it in their stocking. On sea days we would drop in a candy cane or something. Such fun. :goodvibes They did not figure it out until the last day who the Santas were. I think they had trouble figuring us out because we really did not have a lot of interactions with their family, just met them in passing.

Angie, I was thinking of hanging them on the fish so that they wouldn't fall off from the weight of whatever was put in them. I know that cristi brought a ton of stickers to share with all the kids. So many of us brought things to give out at the meets but since not many showed up we weren't able to give them to everyone.

You & your DH left the wine & cheese before we discussed linking our dinner resies on the 12/9 cruise. We have quite a group of repeaters from this 12/10 cruise. It's like a DIS group within a DIS group. It seems to be easier to keep up with a few people than try to meet up with everyone. I am also going to find out about the convention thing in the next month...how many people you need etc.

THIS IS CRAZY!!! Last Wednesday we were enjoying the view from Paradise Point wearing shorts & enjoying the sunshine. Today it is FREEZING here! :( High humidity so the wind is blowing right thru you. I want to go home!!!! (to the Magic :) )

it's about 80 degrees here today. had the AC on in the car for a while. I put away the kids' beach sock and those white sand that are stuck underneath is a little part of St. Maarten that we brought home. ***smile***sigh****

Hey, I am here only for a few minutes. I am trying to get a little rest before starting my 2nd client's home tonight. I have been super busy since I got back.

Vanessa, great pics. The camera must have come out late because I had a beer in my hand for most of the time.

John, I was everywhere. I liked just walking around the ship. I met alot of interesting folks by doing that. I do still owe you that beer.

Cristi, I had a great time just chatting with you on that last night.

Shelley, shots next time.

Lisa, I agree that we will probably have our own sub Dis group on the next cruise. I enjoyed everyone so much; it would be hard to imagine more folks....

Gots to go....

Thanks for posting those pics, Vanessa! It turns out that my camera didn't have a group shot in the atrium. We are now shopping for a new camera & I think that it has been narrowed down so hopefully I will have another one soon!

It was great traveling with John & his family since we already knew them for the past two years. Now we will have a bigger group to reunite with next December. I am hoping that by then DD will want to stay in the club a bit more often so that DH & I can join you party animals in the club at night. We really enjoyed seeing Rich Purpura's night act. The theme nights would be a blast! I vote for a mini DIS group on the beach at CC on Sunday. :) The older girls will have a blast playing with Vanessa's girls in another year. It always seems to end up that the DISers set up nearby each other. Funny thing was that the family next to us turned out to be a DISer who never signed up on this thread but I remember talking to her on the cruise board.

Tammi, welcome to DVC! We hope you enjoy it as much as we do. It does help us feed our addiction. I posted over on the trip report about our adventures trying to get home. Finally arrived in Portland at 8 am this morning, then a bit of an icy drive home. But we are here, I scanned the mail, DrHug is napping. Now to get that Christmas tree up before Christmas!

Thanks Angie! What a time to come home, huh? We got into PDX on Sat night - horrible tuberlence while landing - then slid on the runway - everyone clapped and cheered when we actually slowed down! We spent the night there at the Radisson - when we got up, the waterfall in the parking lot was frozen - we took a picture to add in with our vacation pics :rotfl:

We are excited about the DVC! Got our documents yesterday - have to get busy filling them out. Have a Merry Christmas! :wave2:

Lisa - I think you are right....Kaitlyn and Sophia seem to be at that age where they love to mother the little ones!! My girls will love it!

Merry Xmas to all. Hope all is well with everyone. finally, gotten over the whole swaying thing--mostly.

Merry Christmas to all! I miss all of you guys! Wish I was going with you next year.

I have finally gotten over the swaying too. I can't believe that it lasted as long as it did. My leg is finally doing better. Just starting to itch now. I guess we have a good story for years to come ;) . I'll bet they won't ever forget me on that excursion. :rotfl:

We got a new camera to replace the one I fried. I just need to figure out how to work it. It has a few more bells and whistles than the old one.

Hey, Angie, if you are reading this, can you post the pictures you took of us on pirate night at dinner? It seems like you took one of all of us that night. I took one of everyone in my family, but I don't have one of me except for the one that Vanessa posted. TIA!

I will ask Dennis to send the photos of you and your family to you. I am computer illiterate...well, almost. :badpc:

I may have mentioned this before, but I'll mention it again anyway . . .

I get over the swaying thing by having the doctor prescribe the behind the ear patches you see people wearing, and putting it on AFTER the cruise. It does seem to help alleviate that feeling. I started doing this after our first seven day when for almost two weeks after the cruise, I felt like losing my lunch if I even looked at a computer screen. I know it sounds kind or A#$ - backwards, but it works for me.

I am going to try and post a bunch of photos on my .Mac site next week - I'll let you all know.

A blessed and Merry Christmas to all of you and your families!

John

I actually like the swaying feeling after we get home. It is not severe enough to make me feel ill and if I sit and close my eyes I can be back on the ship for a few moments. :goodvibes That feeling has been gone for a few days now. My world no longer rocks! Just waiting for next year now. :sunny:

Cristi, glad you leg is on the mend. I bet they will remember you on that excursion! :rotfl2:
