12/10/05 ~ Anyone else cruising.....??

Well, today was my Friday.... so that means, only 7 more days of work before my VACATION!! and my 3 day teaser cruise, before the real deal, 7 day cruise!!! :cool1:  :teeth:

Cold front is moving in, and it's been rainy and windy all day today, with the temperature dropping rapidly. I can't wait to get on that ship and leave this crummy winter weather behind! :sunny:

Shelley - what is going on? This weather is crap! I would say we have a hurricane looming....one of our bougainvilla was ripped up when we got home and it was a tree!

Wow, go to work for 10 hours and you miss 2000. :confused3 :)

Guess what! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: That's right I got my docs today!!!!! Yipee!!! No, upgrade for us, but that is fine we booked the catagory we wanted.

I put on my dress that I'm planning on wearing on formal night, by the way, how formal are people getting? :)

I have a floor length formal that I bought on clearance last year after Christmas. By the time I got done with clearance price and used a gift card that I had, I only paid about $25 out of pocket. DH is wearing a tux along with DS. DD also has a long formal that she is wearing. Her's doesn't come quite to the floor, but it is pretty long. For semi-formal DH may wear the tux again since it comes with two shirts (we will be in Palo that night). I have a shorter fancy skirt/top combo that I will wear.

Well, I ordered a black dress for formal night & a sage green one for semiformal BUT when I got them, the sage one is floor length so I am wondering if it will be ok for semiformal night. What I will probably decide on is what dress DD will wear each night & coordinate with her. :)

Congratulations Jordan on number 2000, but don't call yourself an old man, I graduated in 1978! After work and a school board meeting I did not get home until 9:00 tonight.

I'm sorry, but those who live in Orlando, or Florida in general, are not permitted to call winter weather crap! C'mon up north, where there is REAL winter weather! :cold:

We had a beautiful weekend, with highs in the 50's, and we have had a great fall, but winter is upon us. Highs in the 30's the rest of the week, and snow on Thanksgiving day! I blew my chance to get the outdoor lights up in warm weather, but I just can't bring myself to decorate before Thanksgiving - cruise or not.

That is why I was asking them how cold it was. I was wondering if it was really cold or just cold to the Floridians. :)

well, considering anything under 70 is COLD....I guess you can take my weather updates with a grain of salt!!

But today I got out of work and it was "hurricane stormy out"....and what I mean is dark, cloudy, an eerie cold, slight rain and all this was at 4pm! Oh and I forgot WINDY!!! We lost a "tree" today!

Watching the GB - MN game - ------ DH is in a pool to win
an extra week's vacation if GB wins...:) He already won 4 nights at Sanibel (which he won last year and we went to in August!!)

John - do you have Jerry's Foods up there?

so - I managed to clear my lovely dining room table off only to bring out xmas gifts to wrap!! so now it is covered w/ xmas gifts~!!! :)

ahhh...........how many more days?

Should I rent a tux? I like the idea of not lugging around my suit....

Kind of pricey. Something like $85+ It's in our cruise docs but I don't have them handy right now. Might have to give up that spa villa treatment... ha ha ha ha ha.

LOL! Any place where you can BBQ on the deck NYE wearing tshirts, shorts & barefeet does not get cold. ;)

I have pulled out some of the bigger toys left over to drop at the T4Ts office tomorrow. Clearing out the garage as much as I can. With DH home, I have a feeling that is going to be rearranged before I can get to it all. I might just bite the bullet & donate the garage sale boxes. I HATE doing GSs. The consignment shop did take 50 of the kid's outfits though so that should help with paying off the next cruise. ;)

Lisa - I have quite a few garage sale boxes myself. I know we are not going to have one so I need to donate them. I like the $$ collected but not the rest that goes with it. After today - only one more work day this week!

Well guys, unbeknownst to me, our docs were on the porch all night last night. I was too tired to check when I got home last night, and just happened to look for the heck of it this morning!

So the docs have landed in Ohio!
(Do people on other cruises get this excited about paperwork?):rotfl2:

Vanessa - no Jerry's up here. We have us, Fishers (which is family owned only in our county), Giant Eagle, Acme (a local chain out of Akron), Tops Markets, and Heinen's (a local chain out of Cleveland). Columbus area also has Krogers and Meijer's.

John

I hate doing garage sales too. We did one once a few years ago and made some good money, but I don't know if it is worth the hassle. I just donate everything now and write it off. It is easier to get rid of toys without kids noticing in a donation box than it is for a yardsale. :flower:

John, that's great you got your docs too. I was excited when I saw mine yesterday too.

Vanessa... wish I only had one more work day this week. I have to work Wed and Friday. :sad1: Oh well.... more cruise money!!!!!

Hi All;

I'm anxiously waiting for a call from my TA today, with luck she'll have the docs. So, there's been no upgrades so far? :(

As for garage sales, I hate them but I normally like the pay off. I think I'm going to make sure some of the kids clothes are cleaned up and I'll take it to the consignment store. Every little bit helps now :)

Vanessa and Cristi, you're lucky, I don't even start my work week until tomorrow, so at this point it looks like I'll be working 8 days straight starting tomorrow and then we leave NEXT thursday.

Have fun all, here's doc wishing for everyone :wizard:

For those of you that take things to consignment stores, how much do you usually make off of it. I never thought about taking things there. There are a couple of them not too far from me, maybe I should think about it?
