12/10/05 ~ Anyone else cruising.....??

We are still in our Cat 11, but that is ok. I'll sleep in a box, just get me on that ship! :earboy2:

Hello again. Its #8504. I also got a call from my best friend in Florida she is also upgraded to a 4 from an 8. And any and all are welcome to come to visit. I'm still trying to come up with a door sign. Also I still haven't sent in a picture of the family I will try to work on that this weekend. Congratulations to the other families who got an upgrade!!

John called & let us know that they are upgraded as well!!! WHOO HOO!!!! Christi, I can't wait to find out what a category 4 looks like too! :) Of course you can come check it out.

is that a pretty common upgrade....from an 8 to a 4?

that's fantastic FOUR categories while my upgrade was from a 12 to an 11 which was pretty much expected since 12 only sleeps 3.

I wonder how full the ship is. Anyone have an idea?

We were upgraded from an 11 to an 8 on our first cruise & that seemed like a common one, though I have heard of many go from an 11 to a 10 or 9. I honestly haven't heard of many from 8 to 4. :) I just checked DCL's site & it looks like the ship is pretty full. There are just cats 4, 5, 6, & 12 available right now. 4 & 12 are GTY only so if someone books a 4 then a person who originally booked a 4 will go up to 3 or more. Wouldn't THAT be amazing?!?!?! :) 5 only has 7562 & 7108. 6 only has 6616, 6124, & 6066. At this point, I doubt that any TA has rooms blocked off. This is going to be a fun cruise! :)

I see Lisa already let everyone know we were upgraded too! WoooHooo! This is our seventh cruise, and the FIRST time we have EVER been upgraded. What a nice Christmas present from DCL!

Lisa sent me an email at work telling me about her upgrade, and I told her we didn't get one, because our docs still had the Cat 8 stateroom. Then I got home and checked the reservation on line, and sure enough we were upgraded! Just two doors down from Lisa in cabin 8000 - very front of the ship. Too bad they didn't put us in 8006 Lisa, as that is a connecting cabin with 8004.

When we started cruising on DCL, we stayed in a 6, the second cruise we were in a 5, and our first 7 day we actually did stay in a 4. The extra room was nice (there were four of us cruising then, when our son still came along). The verandah is really nice too! After spending all that $$$ and/or DVC points, we decided we would rather cruise more often, and were quite happy with our Cat 8 last cruise, but an upgrade to a 4 is just GREAT! Anyone is welcome to come look - too bad it is not a cat 3, we could have a real party!

Just FYI Vanessa, it was snowing hard today, and they are calling for a high in the 20's for tomorrow, with two more inches of snow. :cold: The weather is getting us in the mood to get the heck out of here for awhile.

We have a lot to be thankful for on Thursday, and now just a bit more!

John

Congrats! On those who were up graded! Whoo! Hoo! :cool1: Today is my Birthday. All I have done is house cleaning. Thats ok my DH promises to make it up to me this weekend once Thanksgiving is behind me. We will go to my Mothers home for Turkey day! I will help her out with cooking.

I was wondering do they ever upgrade you if your in a handicap room to another handicap room? If they don't thats ok just as long as I can get on the ship & cruise on down the ocean. :rotfl2: i'm ready now! :earsgirl:
Oh well it going to to be a long couple of weeks! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

:Pinkbounc :bounce:  :cool1: :wave2: Diana

Ok - it's official - I am jealous!!! :) It seems as though lots got upgraded to a 4!!! You will all be on the same floor as the suites!! :) Way to go on the pixie dust guys!

and yes - when is the parade of cabins to begin?

i am very ecstatic for those with the AWESOME upgrades! to think you're on the same deck as the Roy and Walt's Suites!!! that's great. DH is contemplating on upgrading while we're at the port but I don't want to because I think I'd rather save the money for something else. Wait till I tell him about these fantastic upgrades, he'll be even more tempted.

Yes, we are right down the hall from the Walt suite! :) That is 8030. I was going to try to get up there to take a picture of the door plate this time...now it will be much easier to remember. LOL! :) We would have been very happy with the category 8, which was a treat for us since we usually only book 10s. There is no way that we would have booked a 4...it is twice the price that we paid for the 8!!! I can't wait to try out the staircase to inside Topsider's too. :) I will have to talk to DH about having a little gathering.

Happy Birthday Diana!!!!! :bday: :bday: :bday: :bday:

Congrats to everyone who got an up grade! I am jealous too.

does anyone know about parking at the port? Do they have it? how much?
I was thinking about just renting a car for the entire 2 weeks, this way I can leave some luggage and stuff from dw in the car while we cruise. thanks

It is really easy to do. We have parked at the port twice now. This will be our first time dealing with the Rad's shuttle.

Happy Birthday Diana

Congrats to everyone who got an upgrade. We're cat 9, I'd love an upgrade.

I have a quick question...

In our docs there is the "Passport to Magic" and on page 12 it says you can't take a cooler onboard. Is this new or has it always said this and people still brought a cooler onboard??

Thanks,

They are referring to hard sided coolers. You are allowed to take softsided rolling coolers onboard filled with your drinks of choice. No ice though.

Wow. Busy day here. I may be the last one to get my docs. The TA said they went out yesterday. So I suppose Friday or Saturday for myself. I am not expecting an upgrade as I am in my own stateroom and don't really need more space. Congrats to all the upgrades. Lots of 8 to 4s. Nice, very nice indeed.

Can't believe I'll be at WDW in less than 2 weeks. I want to get there and then I want time to magically slow waaaaaaaay down.
