We are finally getting some sunshine this week after a few weeks of rain. :umbrella: Temp is in the 50s for the high. Crisp, but not bad. I am enjoying the dry weather. :sunny:
Ahh...I miss living in Portland

Well, our property will be for sale within the next year or so if you want to trade the sunshine for the :umbrella: . :teeth:

Congrats to everyone that recieved their docs. I am hoping to get mine soon!

Congrats to those that got docs! I am patiently waiting. :Pinkbounc :bounce:
You can be patient for both of us because I am going crazy. Well, not crazy, but certainly a little anxious.

No patience here either, I was thinking of calling the TA and telling her I'll be calling everyday now until the docs get here as other people on the cruise have them :)

Friends, we need all your good wishes and pixie dust - all you can spare . . .

I think I mentioned quite some time ago that I was in negotiations with our union, and I am the chief labor relations person for our company. NEVER have those negotiations in the 15 years that I have done them gone past October 1st. We are now in late November, and these negotiations are dragging on. I can thank Wal-Mart for that. These are tough negotiations, and we are facing major non-union competition from Wal-Mart, which pays lower wages and practically no benefits so that they can afford to give food away compared to union grocery stores.

Anyway, to get off my soapbox - unless these negotiations are sewn up, or postponed by 12/8 - we may not be on the cruise. Our owner today asked me if I bought trip insurance! (I did not).

We have not said a word to Sophia about this, and if we get cancelled, she will be heartbroken, as will we. This is one of the two real vacations we try to take every year, and our family needs it. I am going to do everything in my power to be there at that sailaway, but for the first time, I am really worried that we have a chance of not making it.

I really hope to be joining you all in a few weeks - Oh, and BTW, no docs in Ohio.

John

John-

Lots of Pixie Dust :wizard: for your negotiations. Lots of luck that it all gets settled very VERY soon.

I would hate to see you guys loose out on the family vacation, let alone the money, since you didn't buy travel insurance. Can they not carry on the negotiations for a bit without you? Maybe DCL would let you move your sailing date, without loosing money, to a later date? Or maybe the rest of the family goes on the cruise so you don't loose out on all of the money and then plan a family vacation later?

I don't envy you the worry you have, best wishes though and go thump some heads together :)

John, prayers and lots of pixie dust for you and your family.
We did not purchase trip insurance this year either and I have been sweating it the past couple of months as my Dad was in ICU for 6 weeks and just moved to a rehab facility about 3 weeks ago. We seem to be on track now though. Whew! Hope it works out for you also.

John.... hope everything works out for you. I will keep my fingers crossed!!!!

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Well, just another thing to add to my prayer list. Will be thinking and praying for you. Please keep us informed and we'll try to keep the excitement to a small roar.

I hope things go well for you John.

If you are unable go will your company pay?

We booked through DCL and are in UK, I was not expecting to get our tickets so soon.

Kirsty

Oh John - I can't believe it. I am praying and sending lots of pixie dust that we will be seeing you at the sailaway party. I can't even begin to imagine the stress and worry and I am absolutely sure you need the vacation. Please keep us posted as to how everything is going.

My docs say they should be delivered today...as per the tracking #! As luck would have it - I won't be home until late tonight! Sunday is my bday and I think we are going out to dinner with friends tomorrow. I didn't want to spend the extra $ but then our friends who we haven't seen in a while called us and my mom had been bugging me to babysit...so I said why not.

I actually got one room clean last night. I even gave sorted through some of the girls' clothes and sent them on to another family at school. Tonight I hope to sort through toys and get rid of a TON! I would like to be able to come home from vacation to a clean/straightened house...which seems to be impossible....how do people have those neat as a pin houses?

I think a clean house is one of those things that is a losing battle once you have kids. Kids and clean just don't seem to mix :confused3 !

:cool1: A little dancing for those still waiting on their docs :cool1:

10 more days of work for me, and then I get to have two cruises, and 16 whole days of NO WORK! :teeth: I can't wait!!

So has anyone sailed right after Thanksgiving?? I'm wondering if the Wonder will have Xmas decorations up before my 3 day on Dec. 1?? Wow, two cruises to think about, whats a girl to do???? :earboy2:

I don't know how people keep their house clean either. I used to be really good at it until my first DD started walking, then things went downhill :)

I want to start going through the whole house again, I just did that less than a month ago, I seem to only get the house really clean every couple of weeks. At this point as long as the kitchen is clean, the bathrooms are clean and laundry is at least washed and folded I am happy. Pretty bad that my standards have dropped so much but I would rather have fun with the kids than clean every spare minute.

I want the house clean and orderly when we leave though and I'll have to make sure all the dishes are clean. Could you imagine something sitting out for 2 weeks by accident?? EEWWW. :goodvibes

Have fun everyone, goodluck today John :), keep us posted.

Oh yes...my standards on clean are way below Good Housekeeping's I'm sure...well I guess I should say picked up instead of clean....:)

I've started walking at work...two other girls and I are doing 2 miles...that's pretty good for the middle of the workday I think!! Now if I could add some more in at home!

The only way that this house could stay cleaned is if I locked up the kids in their room every waking minute....NOT going to happen. I try to accept it & move on. I am so busy with PTO & other stuff that it gets ignored at times. Today I need to clean & hide for DS's party tomorrow. After that I will be getting the suitcases out & starting to pack them up. The kid's should be easy to do right now. It turned cold yesterday. I hope that it stays that way now so that we don't need anything out of the suitcases! I bought another set today so we should have enough.

For most NORMAL people this is true. However, my next door neighbor apparently has a spotless house and she has two kids. I have never actually seen the inside of her house (don't think many people pass the threshold), but my other neighbors were telling me about it.

I am with Deidre. I would rather spend time playing with the kids (and being on the dis boards  ) than clean house. As long as the kitchen and bathrooms are clean and we have clean clothes I am happy. Someone I work with has allergies to dust because her mom kept the house too clean. My kids will never have that problem. :flower:
