12/09/06 Geeks.... Lost, but not forgotten

Good morning fellow geeks!!! 7 more weeks of school left. I am actually looking forward to summer vacation this year. I missed the kids last week after our spring break. I am still trying to decide what I will be doing as far as work goes for the summer. Last year I took off 3 months so that we could spend time together and then the Repo. Right now we only have July 4th week with plans this summer and the kids are looking forward to seeing Sophia again. :) :) :) Does anyone have plans yet?

We are doing Disney. We leave in 6 weeks. The day after my last inservice teaching day. We can't wait. That is our big trip. We are doing a few weekend camping trips, but we are so excited about the trip!

It looks like our June WDW visit will be later that month; somewhere after the 21st  At least we will be there. :thumbsup2

We are going to San Diego for a wedding June 20, so of course we will do a few days at DL "as long as we are in the area". ;) We are also going to DL in October with my niece and her family.....their first trip! :woohoo: We love going with kids on their first trip. Her girls are 4, 6 and 14 (with disabilities that make her about 10ish) We should have lots of fun with them. We also plan a camping trip on the Oregon coast July 2-8.....maybe longer. :) That's it for us this summer, unless we get an offer we can't refuse. :rolleyes1

Tomorrow we expect it to be only 39 degrees with rain/snow mix. :sad2: We are anxiously waiting to get tomatoes, beans, peas. beets and squash planted!!

We went out on the boat this morning and it was 89 degrees on the van temp listing on the way home. we got a bit of sun and enjoyed just trolling around the river. K loved sitting in the cuddycabin kneeling with her head through the window opening. :)

High 80's and sunny here today. The kids twisted my arm and I started the sprinklers and let them play for awhile. Felt wrong in April, but 80 is 80!

LOL! I don't think your arm is hurting too much this morning, John. ;) I got up to find DH and K gone and the big rafts out of the box they have been in for a couple years and unfolded on the couch. Hmmm...something tells me we are going back out on the river today. :)

It is 11 am and we are up to 42 degrees. OY! Spring will maybe be here late this week. :cool2:

Killin' me!
We went fishing at Frenchtown Pond on Easter (no catching, just fishing) and that was a nice day, about 70 and sunshine, then this cold Canadian air moved in. Fishing on the rivers and streams opens the third weekend in May. We cannot wait for that. A worm, a hook, a stream, some sunshine......ahhhhhh.

91 and clear right now in Nottingham, MD. :goodvibes The tress are blooming. :lovestruc The dogwood in our yard will be in full bloom by Tuesday I'm sure. :cheer2:

We didn't go out on the boat today...laundry, yardwork, switched out the clothes in K's office. She has outgrown so many clothes even though I took out the smaller stuff at the end of last summer. I have a huge Amazon box mounding with the folded small stuff. It is so hard to pack up some of these outfits they have worn for a couple years. :(

80's again today and beautiful! We did a triatholon (Sophia and I). Hiking at a state park with the dog early afternoon, took her to the pool for swimming later, and a 6 mile bike ride this evening. Here's hoping the girl sleeps well tonight with the first part of the OAT (Ohio Achievement Test) tomorrow. Another part of "No Child Left Behind, but Every Child Worried About Tests".

Even Harry Potter did not have O.W.L.'s in third grade!

Give Sophia a big hug from all of us! Good luck kiddo! The kids don't have their EOG testing until the week of May 19.

Ours are called MCAS John. Hate them!

Weather says high tomorrow is going to be 89. Crazy. How can it be hotter here than Florida. What's wilder is it says the high on Wed will be 60. Go figure? :confused3
