Hey Brandi! New Year will be so cool at WDW!!!! THe fireworks should be amazing.

Mike gave the go ahead on the January trip so now I need to find out for sure about upgrading the tickets to non-expiration before we book it! The only down side is he might have to travel for a week in January...and doesn't know when that might be yet. Can't complain much since I can't even remember the last time he travelled. LOVE the fact that his new position stays in the office managing.

Make sure you keep us posted on when you will be there. We are heading south to DL right after Thanksgiving, and then east, so it might be possible for us to be in FL in Jan. We have 9 days left of our 10 day hoppers (never expire) and plan to stay at FT Wilderness on DVC points while there.

It will be the week of 1/19/09. The kids have off M, Th and Fr so getting to spend a week at WDW during school and only miss two days...and it's the last week of the quarter so all the testing will be done. We will probably get there 1/17...or the Saturday/Sunday before the 19th and leave Sunday for the long drive home. If we get on the road by 7 we can make it home before 8 pm with stops...so we will probably have to get started at O'dark 30 before the sun comes up.

It looks like our trip will be in February instead of January...too much of a chance that Mike will have a conference to travel to the week we wanted to go. Now I will have to deal with the kids being home three days that week! ACK!!! So we will arrive on 2/7 and leave on 2/14. The cost ends up being less than the cost of 3 adult and 1 kid 10 day NE ticket would be at a discount place, and of course a lot less than WDW online. Since we will be there on my bday we will get a GC for $79.99 since we won't need another base ticket so that makes it even better. We have to spend it in the parks that day but I don't think that will be a problem between food and some trinkets. I will wait to get our pins for the trip that day. Add our DV rewards and this will be a great trip cost wise. We will leave with 7 days of tickets to use for future trips too!

Our last 10 day passes [that magically ended up being 12 days passes for us somehow] gave us a lot of enjoyment with our first "just WDW" trip in June 2004, meeting up with John & family for the first time in December 2004 and subsequent trips with them and fellow geeks in December 2005, 2006 and 2007. They ended with a bang with two days of Hoppers at DL this August. Amazingly enough we still have 4 extra tickets on each one for Disney Quest and I know that we will spend one day there on our February trip.

When I was telling friends at a crop Saturday night that we wanted to go for a week ASAP they asked me how we weren't bored with it all. I hope that never happens.

Lisa, I will be in WDW, for 2/7, head to PC on 2/8 for a Wonder cruise and then back at WDW for 2/12 til 2/16!!!!!! I was so sad that I was missing all the Geeks by a little over two weeks, when you were all headed down in January

Angie/Dennis, how are your plans for getting on the road coming along?

We are actually "on the road" so to speak now. We are in a State Park in OR this week. We will travel back north to Kennewick, WA for Thanksgiving week at our niece and nephew's then we will head south and then east. The plan, sort of a plan anyway, is to go to Lodi, CA then head to the CA coast thru San Louis Obispo (sp), friends and family in both places. Then down to Anaheim for a week or two, family and friends and of course DL (gotta use those annual passes). Then on to San Diego, more family and friends for at least a few days then east thru Yuma, AZ (family). I looked at a map and it appears that if we keep heading east we would end up in FLORIDA!!! Since we have no dates to have to be anywhere (boy THAT is taking some getting used to for us and our family) and since there will be Geeks in WDW in Feb and since Feb 5 is DrHug's birthday, it seems reasonable to try to be in FL Feb. We were thinking that we might try to be at WDW Christmas, but that would mean we would need to rush across the country, and that is not what we wanted to do. So, Christmas somewhere in, oh maybe Texas or LA or MS or AL or TN.

I need to get signed up for that birthday thing. A GC would be nice! We have 9 days left on our 10 day hoppers, plus a CM there that can sign us in a few day.

We will probably miss you this trip. We will be stopping in OR for final dental appt for Dennis early in the week of Dec 1. Hopefully on Dec 2 then we will be on our way. HUH!! The dentist wants to actually schedule appts, his office staff does not understand our concept of just being somewhere when we get there!

It really will go by faster than you think. I was just thinking this afternoon that next week it will have been 4 months since I retired. Of course the first 2 months we were in the throws of selling, packing, storing, buying, moving, moving kids from CA, etc. So I guess it has really just been a couple of months that we have been able to get into the retired frame of mind.

We have happily discovered the Wii. We played Aaron's and had to have one of our own for the MH. We also managed to snag a Wii Fit at Best Buy just before we left. We are having lots of fun bowling, golfing, playing horseshoes, etc. We may get the Fit hooked up in the next day or so (retired talk there ) and see if we can get in shape a bit at at time.

Brack it is pretty cold up here, but no snow in my area yet. Being on the north side of the lake helps.

Lisa can you believe no spread sheet for this trip. I don't even know the park hours for the time we are there. Did sign up for Palo, but not until 1 am and still got dinner and brunch on the days and times I wanted no problem, LOL.

I am doing the segway in Nassua. Should be great training if we get to do a tour in barcelona.

Can you put us on your spreadsheets since we not longer have any of our own!

Angie you should do road trip blog so we can follow along. Ps. Would love to see you in Feb can anyone say a night at chip and Dales campfire movie? Woohoo.
