12/09/06 Geeks.... Lost, but not forgotten

Caroline, send an email to WebmasterJohn through his DIS ID. He will get this taken care of for you :)

Thanks Lisa. They actually handled it much easier than I thought. I checked my old voicemail today and DU had called not long after I had spoken to DCL. A check is already in the mail and I didn't have to do anything! Thanks DU!!:goodvibes

I'm going to call them as soon as I recieve it to let them know how much I appreciate their business and that I got it ok.
Maybe I can use it with the 4 nights/3 free deal...;) I so hate to let deals go by... We can do the 5 of us for $1800 for a week at PORS, parks included, but it's just not in the cards right now...:sad2:

Got a call early Saturday morning about some friends visiting from Nashville. They were at dinner Friday night when she had terrible pain. She was rushed to the hospital and on Saturday morning they did surgery for a perforated colon :scared1: The doctor took out about a foot of it and she has a temporary "bag". She will be fine and the bag will be reversed in a couple of months but it will be several days of healing with the incision open.

BTW ..... DW and I are scheduling a checkup for this soon! :rolleyes1

Glad to hear that Caroline. :) I am asking Mike about that deal since there is a week in January at the end of the 9 weeks where they don't do much and they are already off Monday, Thursday and Friday. Missing only 2 days of school for a week at WDW...sounds like a deal to me! :) Also, the cost of the 10 day tickets is just about the amount for *** for the four of us. I want to be able to add the no expiration deal to the tickets because we don't do 7 straight days of parks. If we can keep the tickets to use later on that will make it very worth it for us. :)

:grouphug: It honestly isn't as bad as it sounds. The worst part was the salty mess they expect you to drink but that didn't work for me. The pharmacist suggested an alternative and it worked great. I don't know why they put people under for this now. That wasn't done 20 years ago. I need to bug DH about doing this too since he has a family history of it.

It is a great deal huh Lisa! I really have to stop thinking about these deals they keep throwing around! My BFF's DH is in the Coast Guard so I decided to see just how good the military discounts are. For Feb. 14, a cruise with all 9 of us in 2 Cat 6s and a Cat 11 would be just over $8000 with the fuel surcharges tacked on. The same cabins w/o the discount?

Over $17,000!!!!:scared1:

sigmoidoscopy they don't sedate you, the colonoscopy they do and you DO want them to with that one. :thumbsup2

A diverticulum became inflamed and eat through. It took a long time but could have been detected with a colonoscopy.

I know it was a colonoscophy with all the scarey forms saying what could happen for me to sign. They thought that I had an ulcer in my colon that was causing me so much pain so they had to check out the entire colon. The doctor talked to me the entire time. It wasn't my favorite activity but I had feared so much worse. Perhaps it was the type of drugs they used, though I really don't remember taking anything...then the mind goes at this age ;)...but I remember looking at the screen for a little bit. I see reports from some who were given different drugs that didn't put them to sleep but they don't remember any great discomfort...so perhaps that is what I was given? The only bad thing was that they had me sit up on the table afterwards and one minute I was talking and the next the nurses were putting me back on the table because I had blacked out. They said it is a common aftereffect. Nothing was wrong thank goodness...at least with my colon. Two weeks later I got a new job and gave my 2 week notice at the old one. What do you know! No more stabbing pains and being ill for hours. I was stressed out. I never felt that pain again. :)

Hey there April!!! :) How are things going with the now not so little one? It really isn't too bad. One way was around $1800.00 for 9/13/09 from Philly to Barcelona when I checked last week. Considering that a cat 8 was around $4,400 for us that doesn't sound bad to me when you combine it all. If you drive to Philly you can save $2000+ from the cost of flying out of Raleigh. :)

Hi Geeks! Hope everyone is doing well. We are leaving for Orlando in 3 weeks!!! I am so excited. Packing list is getting finalized and then I will need to start shopping for stuff I need to pack. The kids are beyond excited. We really need this break.

Nicholas has been dealing with alot of stuff at school this year. He's being picked on alot, his grades have dropped, the organizational side of being in 4th grade is really hard. I have a conference with the principal tomorrow to find out what we can do, what is controllable and what is what it is... he has a touch of ADHD, I think, so we need to constantly work with him on staying focused, which is hard for him because it's just not interesting enough (he is also GATE identified but our school's program is only a one hour a week pull-out class).

Sarah is doing average but we are proud of her for sticking with it. She is SO right-brained, it's not even funny how obvious it is. Academics are not going to be her strength but she makes up for it in all her other artistic talents and I am in awe of her creativity.

Anyway, just sitting tight here as the economy takes a toll on work. It is not a cheerful place to be... BUT I am going to the Caribbean in a 3 1/2 weeks so I am going to try to forget about it for awhile!

Hi everyone! I am taking part of the buy 4 get 3 days. We had a trip already planned for that time. We use a AAA tavel agent. I called her the day after the deal was released. She laughed and told me that I was on her list of people to call, she already had switched me over. We saved $350. :goodvibes

How is everyone doing?

Joy....so jealous!!!! Enjoy your vacation!!

Hey Brandi! New Year will be so cool at WDW!!!! THe fireworks should be amazing. :)

Mike gave the go ahead on the January trip so now I need to find out for sure about upgrading the tickets to non-expiration before we book it! The only down side is he might have to travel for a week in January...and doesn't know when that might be yet. Can't complain much since I can't even remember the last time he travelled. LOVE the fact that his new position stays in the office managing. :)

Now that is the right attitude :thumbsup2

pixiedust: and  for the kids. I am sure that they will do alright with a Mom who thinks like you do.

We leave next Thursday for a road trip to Dallas. pixiedust: It will be a very long drive and a little tough on JoJo but it will be really nice to see our DS and DIL. We drive back :scared: the day after Thanksgiving.

I will send out early good luck wishes for a safe drive both ways, Brack!
