12/09/06 Geeks.... Lost, but not forgotten

This grandma and grandpa gave up shortly after midnight and returned to FW. We were in bed around 1am. It has been wonderful getting all the hugs from the Geek family.:grouphug:

More Geek hugs to come shortly.:grouphug: And we will get to see PJ also!! ::yes::

We didn't get to bed until pretty close to 3:00 am . . . I think I am the only one up right now. After that dinner at Whispering Canyon preceded by Angie's apple pie, I don't know if I am even hungry YET.

We sure wish you were ALL down here with us - Lisa, Carla, PJ, Brandi, Brack, and anyone I missed.

Some day, we will have to coordinate this better, or try to do a cruise where we are all available. This was so spur of the moment for us, and things just fell into place for Kim and Steve to be able to join us with the Holiday weekend along with John and V.

John and V had to leave this morning early, it was a sad goodbye last night, with Haley being the saddest as I know she will miss Steve terribly. Steve and Kim are with us for one more day, as they leave tomorrow - and we will be all alone from then on until Saturday.

I am so glad you guys are having a great time. We miss you all!!
It snowed yet again most of yesterday; then it snowed some more. Sick child from 1:30AM on and has now finally just fallen asleep after a visit to the doctors at 10. Early stages of it could be anything... We'll be following her with lysol and clorox wipes. :crazy2:

I have work today so I'm not the one out front using the snow blower but from the sounds of it the guys were all kibitzing.

Apple pie sounded delish. I picked up a comfort food item of a hostess cupcake when I stopped to get Gatorade on the way home from the doctors.

So, have fun in the sun - its a balmy 27 here - I'm serious - its nice out compared to the horrific windchill of this week.

Let me know if you do the Kim Possible thing.

p.s. Battlestar, man! I've been bullying everyone into watching it now so I can talk about it. I am still saying Wow.

p.p.s Ah so it's that pesky iLife '09 that made you get the new Nikon huh John. of course I did google it after I read your post and yeah I have iLife and iWork in my shopping cart

Thanks for saying something about the Kim Possible thing. We are considering a second day at Epcot. Looking at the site there is just so much that we didn't see in the countries last time. I want to see all of the performances this time.

We are supposed to get snow here tonight. The real thing not the fluries that came in December. K is so excited now she is happy that we are not in WDW and missing the snow. They have gone from predicting 1-2 inches to 4-6 for us. Schools are currently delayed two hours but if snow is falling at 7 am they will close for sure. K doesn't remember seeing snow since the last time anything stuck on the ground was 1/20/04. We have pictures of her out in it but she wasn't even 3 1/2 yet. She wants to make a snowman.

Lisa, she can come up here for a visit, lol. Haven't seen cement or even brown grass for weeks.

Pj

THat is very exciting!!!! We have had a lot of ice this year...but it has been so cold the last few weeks that we have had snow that just won't melt!

I am glad you are having a good time...but wow do I wish we could hang with our favorite dissers!!!!! We miss you guys!

The Kim Possible thing had a soft opening this week, and we thought it was way cool! Everyone except Sophia. She kind of got freaked out though . . . she thought a bad guy was coming to get her when she was on the mission.

They have stations at Innnoventions and at the entrance to the World Showcase where you register, then we had to go to the World Gate (by England) to get the Kimunicator (a verizon cell phone - smart for Verizon, huh?) and you do your mission. Both girls did the same mission. It is kind of like a scavenger hunt, where you find things, find clues, and neat things happen - like you stand in a spot, look up at the Eiffel tower, and it sends you a picture to the phone of your group!

Kim, Steve, Amy and I want to come back without the kids and do it ourselves!

BTW . . . wanting to stay home because of snow . . . sorry Lisa, but tell Kaitlyn that's why we left! :rotfl2:

We truly wish each and every one of you were here with us!

Tonight we went and saw Angie and Dennis' motor home - and I got to ride in the cargo area of our rented Chevy HHR . . . long story, with a guard named Phil.

Can't wait to hear that story, John! :) Well, K has gone from being excited about the snow and no school this morning to being upset with the stupid stuff becuase it isn't sticking on the ground. OY! This is going to be a very LONG day. :(

Sorry to hear. I have the child home as well after yesterday's illness. We'll send you lots of snow if you like, Frankly sick of it here.

Oh, I am dying to hear that story!

Well . . . we called Angie, and she told us how to get to the campground, and that we would have to park and wait for Dennis to come and get us and take us back to the camper - too far to walk. I have rented a Chevy HHR, and somehow we had all 6 of us in there (with Savannah on Steve's lap) to get to the campground from EPCOT. We had to stop at the gate to the campground, and Phil the security guard told us we were all wrong about where we had to park, told us where to go, and then said "how many people do you have in that car?" He was at that point joking about it.

Well, we figured that rather than Dennis taking us in his car, we would just have him drive mine with everyone inside - only one problem - one too many people. So I volunteered to be smuggled in the hatch. Steve said that we now definitely qualified as an official "clown car".

Of course, we had to go by Phil again, and I did my best (as you can imagine) to hunker down in the hatch so that Phil would not have a heart attack when he saw the clown car go through the gate. The fact that Dennis had just downed a Corona made it all the merrier.

Dennis was picked by the World Showcase Players to perform. What a hoot he was King.....um, King....Lancelot's king. Anyway, they fed him lines and he improvised a bit also. Very funny. We love the performers at Epcot. We will be heading there tomorrow after a quick visit to Animal Kingdom to ride Everest.

I am glad you are having a good time...but wow do I wish we could hang with our favorite dissers!!!!! We miss you guys!

:grouphug: We miss you too!

Never a dull moment when you are with the Geeks! :rotfl2: :lmao: Only thing missing was Brack's camera.

Off to check on the laundry now. Dennis is napping. This is a down day for us. We moved from the Fort to SSR. Takes up much of the day moving so we decided we will do DTD later this afternoon and Boardwalk tonight. :thumbsup2

LOL! Can't wait to meet Phil in a couple weeks. :) We might be renting a car to take down so will note we need an extra seat. :thumbsup2
