Soundin like Jordan - talkin to myself :rotfl2: I'm the last one up - good morning to the East Coast!

Good morning! John, thanks for sharing the photos. Brings back lots of good memories. Today Dennis is working on a CD to send to Cristi. We took several of her family at dinner, etc. What fun to share memories! :hyper2: :grouphug:

I think we will head up north to Washington State today to check in on my Dad who is in a Rehab facility. He has had a tough haul since surgery in August with major complications after. So, think I'll go :teeth: at him and give him a  . Will check back in later. Have a great day all.

Sounds exciting!! CC is awesome the way it is, I too wonder what it could be for the whole family. Did you invite BudWmn over here?

Karen--I hope you didn't get bashed too bad over the kid club thing, I can see both sides of the issue, but I think the poster just wanted to get rid of her kids, a couple of them were just plain negative no matter what was suggested. Maybe they should do an adult cruise.

Stacie

Thanks Stacie. I couldn't believe how much one poster just wanted to drop her kids off. If you've read any of her other posts...they are all very negative. She seems to post negatives quite often. BUT -- I just couldn't help myself and then others took my posts to heart, oh well!!!

I honestly agree with those who say it isn't right that DCL close the clubs for drop off....BUT it isn't going to be a cruise-deciding issue for us. We're usually all too excited to part from each other on that first night.

I have to share this one with all of you...

So you know I'm doing that winter carnival thingee for our schol....yup, the one I've been saying we didn't get many parents to volunteer....

Well...

Being the perfectionist that I am, I had to give ALL the old games a fresh coat of paint AND come up with 15 or so new games. (There are about 35 games in total)

Okay - so I go to church this AM, we go out for breakfast, I stop by Walmart to get a can of bright blue paint for the "Shark Bait" game that I'm building

Are ya ready....

We come home, I put the stuff on the counter...

We're doing lots of stuff.

I go over to the counter where I notice the can of bright blue paint hanging off the edge of the counter. Being supported only by the strength of a plastic wal-mart bag.

So... (anyone know what happens????)

YUP! The bag breaks.
The can crashes to the kitchen floor.
The top of the can opens up.
An entire can of bright blue paint goes all over the hardwood floors in my kitchen.

Does anyone know there are little grooves in between each plank of hardwood flooring?

Does anyone know that bright blue paint seeps very easily into the cracks of a hardwood floor in a person's kitchen

:scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

This guy is pretty much what I looked like both when it happened AND while I trying to clean it up.

CAN YOU BELIEVE THIS?!!!

Yes ---- thanks to the speed of my darling family, we sopped up an entire can of blue paint. But you can still see some of the blue in the cracks of the wood :sad1: :sad1:

Karen,

That sounds kind of like my luck. I am so sorry and can only imagine the clean up. That might have won $10,000 on AFV if you could have had a video recorder running.

Hi all--
We have had spring weather in Iowa this weekend, mid 50s today and sun. We've been outside trying to finish the fence we started in the fall so that Snickers, the naughty puppy, can run around outside. Yesterday the kids had a swim meet, only two more to go before sectionals and the state meet. We realized today that Superbowl Sunday is when the kids are swimming in the Iowa Games (kind of like olympics on a state level). Good thing we're not big football fans, although we do enjoy the food and the commercials.

John, your'e pictures are great, makes December seem like a loooong way off.

Karen, when is the school carnival? Any more luck getting volunteers?

By the end of the week I'm hoping to have our reservations made for the two nights before the cruise. We can't decide where to stay, my cheap (or budget-minded) side wants to stay at a moderate like Coranado Springs but my you-only-live-once side wants to stay at the Poly. I'm having a hard time justifying the deluxe price to myself. Any advice? I was glad to see on Disney's sight that Magical Express was still available for December, I had heard mumblings that it was going to be over in the fall, when the 50th was over.

Hi guys,

I posted my pictures from "Twice Charmed" and "Disney Dreams" on the website today. There is a link at the top of the page if you go to the original site, or you can go directly to the show pictures at:

http://web.mac.com/john.halkias/iWeb/Site/Disney Cruise Show photos.html

I may post some more photos if I have time . . .

Stacie - Your second thought is right - you only live once. I'd pick the Poly. As of right now, we are staying at Beach Club Villas. That's how I talked myself into DVC after years of thinking about it, and I have not looked back! But, if the budget won't allow, we always liked Port Orleans - it was always our favorite moderate resort.

John

Sophias dad I really like the pictures. They look like a artist drawing. They are not messsed up like some of ours.

OMG Karen! I'm so sorry to hear that happened...as luck would have it. That's exactly what would happen to me. Ok, here's a blue rose to make ya feel better :rose: ....sorry, couldn't resist....

OK guys! Keeping my mind off tomorrow I had an idea to try on the shirt design. Here are two options. What do you think? I am going to work on making a better clear copy of the mickey head outline too.

Lisa,

I really like the shirt designs. I think I like the one with the bowls instead of the one with the cones. The one with the cones looks like what I am always trying to prevent with Sophia right before the ice cream hits the ground . . .

It would be really cool on a dark shirt with that "glow in the dark" ink. Kind of like the shirts they sell on the ship.

As to the show pictures, I really like that camera. The digital SLR really makes a difference in what you can do to control the camera. Now, if I can only talk DW into buying me some more lenses ::yes::

Hope everyone had a good weekend. It's finally acting like January and not April around here - believe it or not, I'm glad. To appreciate Spring, we need to see Winter.

John

BTW, that was William typing. The first words out of his mouth were why do those pictures all look so good? LOL!

I can tilt the cones more to make everyone feel better. LOL! Just trying to go with the artistic stuff & get it in the oval area. :) I am thinking that white print on a dark shirt would look really good too.

O karen I'm sorry!!!!!!! That sounds like an I Love Lucy episode! :scared1:
But it sound like you did well.

Lisa, Emily and I both like the cones. Royal blue for the guys and pink for the gals would look great!!! Do you have endless time on your hands or what? This the website and the Dis borads???? :rotfl: :teeth:

It just helps to keep my mind off things. DD got pretty upset tonight at bedtime & I know tomorrow isn't going to be easy. I will be taking the kids to a friend's house after DH leaves. They have two little dogs that DD really enjoys being around so hopefully that will help her have a better day.

Three months. We have a trip up there planned in a month...if he is in town.
