12/09/06 Cruise Continued ~ Pirating Bananas DIS Geekorama Part 2 Part 7

My laptop got sent in for repairs earlier this week....of all weeks for it to crash! So I'm sitting in our local library trying not to have DIS withdrawal. But, they're getting ready to close, so my efforts to not be a lurker have been thwarted.

I'll email Lisa tomorrow and catch up on all the details/goodies, etc.

But first, can I just say before I go Whoo hoo!! Two stops at Castaway Cay!!

I'm distracted by Survivor ... will try to catch up.

Wow! More Marylanders! And Virginians! And Missourians! (I grew up in Illinois, so I count myself as a life-long Midwesterner!)

This is going to be great fun....but one of the librarians is glaring at me now....so I'd best run.

Ok all those from the central eastern seaboard, wow.

On my next cruise in Oct 07(maybe changing), there are three families all from my city, one somewhere within 15 minutes of me, lol. There are only 12 families signed up so far, lol.

I am so excited...Grey's is coming on. DH is going to make a chocolate thingie....and popcorn. I am composing and e-mail to my professor. one of the quiz questions I got wrong was graded wrong. I went back over the info and it was a T/F question. I answered T and that is correct (at least according to the info we were told to use) it marked it that is should have been F. So now I am going to inquire. I warned you guys that I am crazy when it comes to grades and stuff...I over analyze it all!!!

Here are the chocolate smoothie directions:

This isn't the real directions...we changed them to make them 2 points for a whole blender and that makes it 1 point for a glass when we split it.

4-5 cups of ice
1 c of 1% milk
3T of baker's cocoa powder
6 packets of splenda
1T of vanilla

Blend and enjoy...if it doesn't get smooth enough just add a touch of water.

Do you by chance know the calories per serving? I'm not super familiar with how the whole point system works so I basically count calories every day. This recipe sounds yummy. :drinking1

I have been obsessed crazy (more than usual) in trying to get this booked. This start-our-own-business thing wasn't supposed to happen 'til maybe next year. But everything is falling into place for a MUCH earlier start up.....which is great for DH, but it shot our August '07 med repo out of the water. :sad1:

Not knowing if I would ever see a vacation again before our boys are out on their own and grown, I figured we'd better put that repo deposit to good use....and fast! Fortunately, DH agreed and here we are.....no doubt paying top $$ for the privilege, but happy to be doing so all the same!! :cool1: :cheer2:

We live in Maryland.....halfway between D.C. and Baltimore. I'm a recovering type-A workaholic/now stay-at-home Mom. We've been on 4 DCL cruises....always on the Magic except for one 3-nighter on the Wonder this past March.

Another confession -- I've been more of a lurker on the DIS. When we sailed on the Panama Canal repo, I sooooooo regretted not getting involved, posting, being part of the DIS fun. So, I guess that makes me a recovering lurker, too!

Thanks for the welcomes -- looking forward to getting to know you F-A-S-T!!
Hey - a lot of us in that area - I'm only 1.5 hrs from DC!!

Dody the only things with calories are the milk and coco, so can't be too much.

I would be considered a "hopeful crafter". I love the idea of scrapbooking, but can never quite get it together to do anything remotely that talented. I have brand new albums sitting at home gathering dust just begging to be filled with beautiful Disney pictures. Maybe I suffer from "lack-of-craft-perfection" syndrome! :rotfl2: :rotfl: :lmao:
:lmao:
I could've written your post!
I have enough stuff to start a good inventory for a scrapbook store - all brand new!!
I have the same syndrome!! :rotfl2:

Hi everyone! Is it too late to join this group?

We just booked this cruise after our plans changed for doing the August 2007 repo. We're a family of 4 -- two boys, ages 10 & 7.

We have some big life changes coming (DH is starting his own company), so this might be one of our last vacations for a while. Had to use that repo deposit somewhere....figured sooner was better than later! :thumbsup2

Anyway, looking forward to a fun double dip, seeing The Flying Dutchman and meeting some great DIS'ers!
Welcome to the group! This is a rowdy bunch so get ready to rumble! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

hey - you worked hard - and if the answer is correct, it should be acknowledged as such!! :thumbsup2

evening - just a fly by posting before Grey's starts!

We went out to Shaner's for pizza....well I had a salad and the girls had pizza. John had to leave for his game before it came so I brought 3/4 of a pizza home for him.
On our way home we stopped at the mall and hit the Disney Store! OMG I spent $104.18 but I got:

adult POTC hooded zip up fleece 2 of them
adult POTC shirt - looks like a button up hawaiin shirt but POTC
adult CARS embroidered shirt
2 tink ls thermal shirts
2 aurora ls thermal shirts
2 cinderella embroidered shirts
2 tink embroidered shirts
2 satin varsity jackets ariel
2 nightgowns onepooh and one bambi (Samantha has a thing for nighties!)
3 pack panties
ariel sneakers
adult sally tshirt

I think that is a TON of stuff......not to mention - they HIRED ME ON THE SPOT! They are changing mgmt - and boy the old mgmt knew me!! - anyway this lady was up from Miami resetting it looked like and she got to talking to me and hired me, I mean got my info and everything. I am supposed to go fill out paperwork on Sunday. 30% off and she also said free WDW passes. and the 30% off is good at the Children's Place as well. Now the pay needs to be discussed ASAP....$6.75 WHAT? as a PT cashier at Home Depot I was making $11.50! I would love LOVE to do it. Don't know what DH will say??!!

ok Grey's is on.

Thanks, Tana - what time did you check in? There are 24 of us.

Diana, I asked them what time the buses started and I think maybe it was 9:30 or so? We were about 15 minutes after the first time, whenever that was. Are you staying at the Hyatt? AVOID the restaurants there -- terrible service! And so slow in the morning, it was comical. We would have been 45 minutes earlier if the service had been half way decent. I finally gave up on my entree and just grabbed a bagel from the buffet. And our lunch the previous day was even worse. But it was very handy to meet there since we were meeting my parents who were flying in from somewhere else. And they took our luggage right from our room sat the Hyatt over to the ship.

I'm thinking that 1 pt is approx. 50 calories
I'm sure someone will correct me if not

Did you guys ever end up getting a room???? Keep me updated.

We're going to stay with DFIL (that is if DH gets ahold of him)

Excellent Thank you! :thumbsup2

PS I'm playing catchup myself. Sorry to interrupt the cheerful banter.

ROAD TRIP!

My DW says that she thinks it would be a nice trip so we are going to travel up to Knoebels on Saturday. We should leave about 7AM and be there around 10AM (unless I see too many covered bridges and fall trees to photograph). Thanks for all the encouragement to do this.

What time is everyone going to meet and where?

Also, the DISDog is coming on the trip. His first amusement park.

Yay!!!!!   I was thinking meet in front of the big wheel at noon.

Is jojo wearing green?
