YES Brack, Frank Herbert and the Dune series - another favorite, but difficult to get into, once you do, impossible to put down.

Caroline - you missed it, I spelled Heinlein wrong!

Well DH banished me from the boards yesterday when i got home from DD's state baton championships.

:cheer2: DD's Poms team took 1st place :cheer2:

(Really exciting considering one of the girls broke her foot and they had to learn new formations just a couple days ago) What clinched it was that the team (who took 1st from them in the last comp 2 weeks ago) before them messed a few things up with their routine and one girl had even left one of her poms of the ground during a formation (when she should have picked it up).

DD's Baton team only got 2nd place though.

(Some baton drops on simple tosses dropped their scores.) At least they placed this year. Her group is mainly all kids newer to twirling and they didn't do so well last year.

Way to go!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

I'm a Tide family AND a Cascade family. Nothing seems clean - dishes or clothes when we switch.

As a marketing major in college, we studied people's brand preference. It is supposed to be related to generation and age...but I think our generation finds a brand and really tends to stick with it.

I seem to stick with what I grew up with!

Angie - we really have no choice at any of our stores...they just can't get the help. PErsonally - I like to bag my own groceries. THen I can organize them as I bag so it is easier to put them away. But we've never gotten any price break.

I ALWAYS bag my own. They have no idea how to do it right!

Got to work it all out with DH but i'm hoping to arrive in PA on Fri night.

So i can get DDogs setttled in on SAt morning. I see the pay one price (wristbands) start at noon so that might be good for DD.

I still have a couple calls to make. (trying to get DD a ride buddy)

Caroline?

The girls really want to go. I still have to work out details, but we would be arriving sometime Friday. I'll let you know.

You coming Carla?? ;)

What are kids dressing up like?

DD12 doesn't know if she will dress up. DD7 hasn't decided and DD3 wants to be everything all at the same time! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

our baggers move stuff around by size and odors. they don't want the smelly stuff in with other things. plus I think they try to save bags by overstuffing them - of course I have to carry it all inside.

I like to keep the refrig. stuff and fruits together then sometimes I just unload the other stuff in the morning because often I shop late at night.

I would rather just bag myself and they get annoyed if you help too much. LOL.

You sound like me. My Friend thinks I am nuts to keep groceries in the car overnight!

We also bag, and carryout your groceries for you. I do not understand why stores will not provide this service. Most of that is done for us by High School kids - except during the day, and since most people are working in the daytimes, we are not as busy then.

You all need to move here and shop at our stores so we can compete better!

John1

John, do you do home delivery? Two of our stores now have online shopping and they deliver it right to your door the next day. I haven't tried it yet though.

Elaine, I like to shop late at night too, the only thing I miss is the deli department at night. Other then that and empty store is cool with me, lol.

PJ

When the stores are 24 hours in the summer I like to shop at 1 am!! :rotfl: :rotfl:

How can a store not post the price on the shelf? :confused3 If I don't know how much it is...I don't even put it in my cart.

Our K-mat is good for that! :furious: It is soooo annoying!!

I've got to tell you guys, I am one HECK of a bagger - I did it for almost 15 years and STILL do it sometimes - that is as long as it is paper. I hate, Hate, HATE those Daxx plastic bags! The only thing they are good for is putting dog poop in.

I am fast too . . .

If we go shopping on the banana tour for groceries, I will bag it all!

John1

Our stores hide the paper bags. You have to ask for them. And when did they get so small???

Another reason I bag myself is because they are good at making one bag light, then the next 100lbs!

When Halloween comes around my mom and dad sit at my house and give out candy. They really live in the boonies and don't get trick or treaters! They only get their grandkids. They show up usually the Sunday before Halloween.

The kids in my mini neighborhood go door to door on Halloween. If the light is turned on....then you are open for business!!!!!

Since DH is usually working, my mom comes over to give out the candy. She also never gets any kids since their house sits back from the road.

I will probably regret saying this . . . but don't all of you go filling out the online application on our web site . . . I'm the one that has to read all of those.

Yes ITA with that...it goes against my basic saving instincts. However, after experiencing that rash & having DD deal with it at 6 mo until I realized what was going on a couple weeks later....it is worth it to me. When it does go on sale I get 8-10 jugs.

Now Tide I will only get on sale and stock pile it also. If I am running low it means I haven't bought any in a year!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
