Poor Alex . . .

He was on every cruise (except the one Amy and I took on our own) with us other than the last two. He really had great times too. Problem now is the timing with exams, etc. It was a lot easier to pull him out of HS - College not so easy.

He went to the HS football game with me last night, and we had a nice time. He is doing really well in school, only one "B" so far in a molecular genetics class - and he was really mad about that. He has a great mind and a great memory - he told me he really expected to be more challenged in college, but it hasn't happened yet. He is cruising through to having his degree in two years at the end of this year.

Alex is much brighter than his dad ever was!

Spoken like a true proud parent. And well deserved too! Cool John...

I really wanted to have that. I asked and everything. Dr. said no. How long did it take you to feel better? Talbots online is having great sales, so is lauren by ralph lauren on shorts if you want to guess....

i was feeling ok within a week but i felt completely better in about 6 weeks. i was just tired for awhile but pain wise i was done taking pain meds in 4 days. as far as your doc saying no. there seem to be alot of docs that feel the surgery is the easy way out. and trust me it is not. i work out 4 days a week and i had to learn to eat healthy and stay with it or the surgery can fail. i would love to sink my teeth into a big mac right now but i know there is no way i can if i want to succeed. the surgery is only a tool. i have no regrets and would do it again with out a doubt. i have gone from a 4x to XL in less than 4 months. i can go up the stairs and not feel like i am dying.

hello all

just got done catching up with all the post. sorry i have not posted much but i have been going through ALL my clothes. almost 5 huge rubber maid bins i am getting rid of since they no longer fit. hard to believe i have lost 100 pounds in less than 4 months (ps i had gastric bypass).

hard part is, is that i do not know what size i will be come dec. i hoping i can find some shorts when i get to florida and hopefully i can find a formal around thanksgiving time that is not too winterish.

Jill

Congratulations on the weight loss!!! :cheer2: :cheer2: And wow, 4 months! Took me a year to lose 91 pounds myself. But I know what you mean about sizes. Whenever I found clearance items like shorts or capris I bought a pair in every smaller size I could so that as I kept losing I would have a new pair to slip into when needed and now that I'm reaching my goal weight I'm pretty sure of what size I'll wear come cruise time.

I am feeling great. alot more energy. only thing i am dreading is eating on the trip cuz all the good is sooooo good. i will just have to eat a few bites of every thing i like.

jill

::yes:: That's what I'm gonna do. I just can't bring myself not to try everything but I still want to make sure I don't come back weighing much more than I did when I get there. :rolleyes1

Jill,

Lots of people that Amy knows have done this. Amy keeps saying she wants to do it, but it scares me. I worry about any kind of surgery, and read about some people having serious complications.

I am glad it worked out well for you.

John

For years I thought of getting it done but I really couldn't bring myself to do it. I am just so terrified of surgery.

One more page until the year of my birth page!

Any more 1960'ers?

Brack, I read all of those posters and just kept laughing and laughing!

You missed getting a top there John! Imaagine if we tried for those too! :faint: We're geting closer to mine, 1970. Heck, we'll probably reach this year! 2006!

We have been lucky. Have had some clouds during the day and some sprinkles at night, but that's about it. The cold hasn't hit here yet. Says it is 64 right now. Highs in maybe the very low 70s. Possible T-storms. Hoping not to turn on the heat for a bit here too John.
